Charges dismissed in Arizona Iced Tea arrest outside Fayetteville liquor store

im just glad that justice prevailed and that the cop got caught doing a very piss poor job since there was no criminal activity going on

minimum he needs additional training and i would be opposed to him being punished by his department in some way, hopefully he learned from his moronic mistake

You could make a case for loitering, but you're assuming that it was somehow "banned." Even so, usually that can be cleared up by asking people to move along and no arrest.

The judge found that there was no reason to arrest him, which means that in the judge's opinion no law was broken.

Lets not lie about what the judge found.

The judge found that there was no reasonable suspicion to STOP this man in the first place. "Holding the cane in a strange manner" is not reasonable suspicion.

If there was no reasonable suspicion to stop him, then it follows that there was no reason for an arrest.

That actually isn't true.

You can stop someone without reasonable suspicion (lets say, because you are a racist) and then after stopping them, find out they are in possession of a concealed firearm (which is as reason to arrest someone)

Your reason to stop the person won't hold up in court, so your discovery of the firearm will be invalidated.

That doesn't necessarily mean that there wasn't a reason to arrest someone, just that someone didn't follow procedure.
