School worksheet tells kids GOP thinks helping poor 'waste of money,' parent [W:78]

Re: School worksheet tells kids GOP thinks helping poor 'waste of money,' parent clai

If by 'talking points' you mean facts that you cannot dispute, you're right!

The left handed the keys of the country to illegals? When did that happen?

LMAO. Which facts did I assert that aren't true?

Here's a graph showing various estimates of the illegal population. Maybe you can point out the Obama surge?

population_studies_of_immigrants_in_US_illegally.PNG

Let's take a look at one of your claims in a previous post on this thread.

"BTW, the people you're saying are getting a 'safe harbor' are children. Yeah, that's awful we're treating them humanly."

Here is a snip of a recent US Border Patrol report, available on their website.

BP Report.jpg

Note the column on the right. All those percentage gains. Note the number of family units crossing. You know, the ones who have not been kicked out. Compare that to the number of children.

By the US Border Patrols own report your claim is laughable. Why go any further?

Thanks for that link.

I think that School District spokesman missed the point.

Spokesman Brian Vissers refrained from saying whether the teacher was correct to mark the student's answer to that particular statement about not helping the poor as a conservative belief.

But he said the issue had been fueled by EAG, a media group with an anti-public education agenda.

"There are all types of questions on this assignment ranging from far right to far left," he said. "It seems like the mother in this case just pulled out what her political views are. She didn't have any issues with the articles or questions on the other side of the political spectrum."

The overarching point is that the teacher portrayed an obvious liberal bias in the quiz...something that should not be allowed, especially at the high school level.

A bunch of us hated Governor Reagan when he slashed funding and thousands of mental patients ended up on the streets here in California. It was so easy to hate what Reagan stood for, and this was before his failed presidency.

Well at least California has turned their budget issues around !

They have a surplus, a growing and strong economy and millions of new residents moving into their State to find jobs they couldnt at home....

Wait, thats not California, thats Texas.

California's a mess.

Re: School worksheet tells kids GOP thinks helping poor 'waste of money,' parent clai

The government should help the poor. Help them get jobs. Help them get off drugs, get out of crime ridden areas, and that kind of thing. I'm a republican. I don't like welfare because I don't think it works. If it did, then the generations of people ON welfare wouldn't be on welfare anymore.

If they ask for help that is. There is nothing wrong with being poor. The government should not help people taht don't want the help.

I'm a bit confused. I make a claim about children, then you point me to a summary of apprehensions at the border of.... children, and family units which are (we'll generalize) a parent(s) and child(ren).

So what part did I get wrong? And there is no evidence we're not kicking them out, but if they're not from Mexico, it's more difficult and time consuming according to procedures long in effect. Children require a hearing, and we can't just drop them off somewhere in Mexico with $5, a canteen and a candy bar - we have to fly them home and make sure someone, you know, takes over the care of a CHILD. So while the process grinds on, we're treating the children and family units (parent with child) humanely, which is of course what I said. So you'll have to point out what I'm missing.

Re: School worksheet tells kids GOP thinks helping poor 'waste of money,' parent clai

LOL !!

Sure, you " know Republicans " who think teaching Brown people is a waste of time.

Reminds me of the Teaching scandal that took place in Atlanta back in 2008-2009.

You see, Black Teachers pulled their resources and literally changed the Test scores on hundreds, maybe thousands of their students Test scores.

This took place in low income inner city schools. Now, 12 Teachers are on trial including a Principle who received a " Special award " from Obama himself for her miraculous accomplishments.

It wasn't " Republicans " who screwed these kids, it was their own Teachers. Inner city schools don't fail because of " racist Republicans ".

Inner city schools dont suffer because of " racist Republicans ", they suffer because of the consequences of Progressive policies that perpetuate poverty and dependance.

Did you blow a gasket writing that? I never made a political statement about education. I simply said that I know some Republicans that say that teaching brown people is a waste of time. My grandma and others in my family and their super rich conservative friends were having a discussion about it before tee time at the country club. Just a fact.

What is most interesting is how you took a benign counter argument and showed your true colours though, bringing up those bad black teachers...

Please point me to information detailing the deportation of the women and children counted on the report I posted. All you are proving is a talent for making statements that have no basis in fact.

Again, post the reports showing these tens of thousands of family units and children have been deported. Otherwise, you've got nothing but platitudes and talking points. Maybe the Progressive Machine backed ProCon.org has some manipulated surveys you can post.

Re: School worksheet tells kids GOP thinks helping poor 'waste of money,' parent clai

Obviously not, as I've already proven it true.

And again, no you haven't. None of your evidence shows that Republicans believe helping the poor is a waste of money.

They have said programs which are targeted towards the poor are not worthy of taxpayer money.

Demonstrably false! All of your "evidence" is of Republicans passing funding bills for the poor that actually spend money on the poor. *shocker*

It's exactly what they have said. I think it's funny how hard you're trying to cover for your team here.

No, it's not what they said. Did the Republicans pass bills that fund those programs or not?

Oh, I didn't even read the rest of your last post. In fact, I almost didn't read the rest of this one. What question did I skip?

I know, right? We can send a man to the moon but we can't make a web browser that allows you to scroll back.

BS. Why not arm yourself with some facts? Care to learn what the ACLU had to do with turning out those thousands of mental patients, or are you satisfied with propaganda as a basis of your beliefs?

You're echoing the what the OP is all about. The force feeding of an invented meme to students, to confirm the propaganda message has been received. It's a reinforcement of lies.

Let's rewind a bit. You made a couple of statements that I pushed back on. I'll quote them:

"Who is the most impacted by the massive illegal alien invasion encouraged by Liberal/Progressives?"

I said immigration was encouraged by the jobs creators, and that the net illegal population has gone DOWN since Obama took office, and posted the evidence.

We'll fast forward to this assertion by you:

"Do you deny Liberal/Progressives are encouraging illegal aliens to come here, and are providing safe harbor?"

My response:

"I don't see anyone encouraging illegal immigration myself, but even if they are, somehow between Reagan's amnesty and Obama, 12 million arrived here, and now that the total is less than 12 million, it's a CRISIS!!! And it doesn't matter why, really. The fact is illegal immigration is less of a problem in 2105 than at any time since Reagan. Besides, Obama has deported more illegals than any POTUS in recent history. But it's still a CRISIS!! Gosh, can't figure out why that might be.....

BTW, the people you're saying are getting a 'safe harbor' are children. Yeah, that's awful we're treating them humanly."

And then you point to a report saying apprehensions of children and families with children have increased, and that they haven't left. First of all, you posted no data on removals of children or 'family units.' But second, I made no claims that all illegals had been kicked out, that we'd kicked out all families, or that we'd kicked out all children. What I said was we were treating children humanely. I suppose I was wrong and should have said we're treating children AND family UNITS humanely.

Great point. Glad we got that settled. Can't believe how loose I am with the facts.....

And I know some democrats who hate "East Indians" in fact there's a racist thread about Bobby Jindal right now. So, you have bigots in your family, how does that in any way effects a highly pejorative "poll" suggesting every Republican on the face of the earth believes "helping the poor is a waste of money"

In fact what we have is a highly questionable anecdote from a Republican hater as the only "evidence".

LOL. You're spinning so fast, I'm surprise you can keep your hands on the keyboard.

No, let's not rewind a bit. Let's have you post facts to back your claim. Show data that details the deportations you claimed are being made. Show data that details deportations of the illegal aliens identified in the US Border Patrol report I posted.

Show data that shows these people have not been given safe harbor in cities throughout the country.

Again, these claims you make are much like the effort that created the test detailed in the OP. The narrative of "poor people bad" is a Liberal/Progressive taking point. It's not a policy of the GOP. That is an out and out lie. But that doesn't seem to stop Liberal/Progressives from putting up these bogus narratives. You have done it yourself. ProCon.org? A tool of the Progressive Machine, funded by groups like Annnenberg and Drown? And you think they don't have an agenda?

Let's face it, the only thing settled is how far you will go to carry the meme, and continue the liberal/progressive message.

I never claimed the children (or families with children) had been deported. I said they were treated humanely. Those are different claims.

Show data that shows these people have not been given safe harbor in cities throughout the country.

Again, I didn't claim they were NOT given "safe harbor" - my claim was simply that those people given "safe harbor" while awaiting deportation proceedings were CHILDREN. I was wrong - it was children AND FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN....

Which claims? You've invented some straw men (claims I never made) and then beat the crap out of them.

And shooting the messenger isn't actually a way to challenge data. I had no idea where that the graph came from procon.org, nor would it have mattered. It was a Google hit. I posted it because it had estimates by many orgs. If you think the data presented in that graph are wrong, post your own data. There are lots of graphs and tables with similar data (a net decline in the illegal pop since 2008) - none that I saw were inconsistent with the graph. But you're free to come up with your own evidence. It's how this works.

Let's face it, the only thing settled is how far you will go to carry the meme, and continue the liberal/progressive message.

I'm still waiting on some claim I made that is false. Guess I'll be waiting a while.... too bad.

Now you're completely making things up. You mentioned Obama and deportations. You never wrote anything about "awaiting deportation proceedings".

You're a mess on this one Jasper.

Once again, the point being made in the OP is proven correct. It's propaganda, and it's pervasive, and it's disgusting when it's allowed in our children's classrooms. There is no excuse.

You're right, I said 'treated humanely' and didn't mention that the kids had been deported.

But maybe we've moved on from the children being deported since I didn't make that claim, and now you're talking about the broader one about deportations. Got it. Ask and ye shall receive:

I picked an anti-immigration site just for you. The relevant number is the darker line - I'm colorblind so I don't know what color it is.

And I know the argument is that the larger numbers are apprehensions at the border and inflate the totals. OK, but ICE can do two things - just send them back to try again and there is no penalty for that next try - those are the lighter colored removals - or a formal proceeding which theoretically deters future crossings.

At any rate, his removal/deportations are higher than any recent POTUS, we're spending more at the border than ever before, the population of illegals is lower than when he took office, so I'm unclear what data you have to support the "massive illegal alien invasion" charge. Nothing, apparently, which makes sense because a net decline in the population of illegals =/= 'massive illegal alien invasion'

I'll let the very left Los Angeles Times cut through your attempted spin.

High deportation figures are misleading - LA Times

EXCERPTS:

But the portrait of a steadily increasing number of deportations rests on statistics that conceal almost as much as they disclose. A closer examination shows that immigrants living illegally in most of the continental U.S. are less likely to be deported today than before Obama came to office, according to immigration data.

Expulsions of people who are settled and working in the United States have fallen steadily since his first year in office, and are down more than 40% since 2009.

On the other side of the ledger, the number of people deported at or near the border has gone up — primarily as a result of changing who gets counted in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency's deportation statistics

Until recent years, most people caught illegally crossing the southern border were simply bused back into Mexico in what officials called "voluntary returns," but which critics derisively termed "catch and release." Those removals, which during the 1990s reached more 1 million a year, were not counted in Immigration and Customs Enforcement's deportation statistics.

Now, the vast majority of border crossers who are apprehended get fingerprinted and formally deported. The change began during the George W. Bush administration and accelerated under Obama. The policy stemmed in part from a desire to ensure that people who had crossed into the country illegally would have formal charges on their records.

As to the propaganda revealed in the OP, show me a GOP policy that explicitly states what was implied on that test.

other than clerical what is the difference between "returned" and "deported", I suspect the latter would be those who had established lives there.

Why shouldn't all illegals be sent home?

By the way, have you any idea or estimate of the percentage of the 500,000 illegals flooding in each year are in criminal gangs and drug cartels. I have been wondering and because you have charts and **** I thought you might know,

Here it is over 70%.

I don't have any specific charts I can lay my hands on quickly, but a quick google reveals the numbers are similar here.

This site suggests 66% of latino gang members are illegal aliens. I don't know if that can be extrapolated into a percentage of those entering every year, but the number is certainly high. Consider the possibilities among the under 18 year olds that have been part of the lefts invited invasion from south of the border over the last year plus.

Illegal Immigration: Drugs, Gangs and Crime

With headlines similar to the one below, this meme about "highest number of deportations" reveals the spin and manipulation of facts that serves as the cornerstone of the liberal/progressive agenda.

Deportations Drop as Obama Pushes for New Immigration Law - Bloomberg Business

Dec. 17 (Bloomberg) -- The Obama administration has cut back on deporting undocumented immigrants, with forced departures on track to drop more than 10 percent, the first annual decline in more than a decade.

Through the manipulation of deportation numbers detailed in the LA Times link I provided in a previous post, and it's pretty clear what is being done.

What I can't understand is how these efforts have any long term legs. Inner city minorities have been crushed by illegals, and yet they still tend to support liberal/progressive leaders. It's mind boggling.

I guess when they get to kids early, as shown in the OP, it's hard to know what truth is. Kind of like a Stockholm Syndrome effect.

Once again I replied to the wrong post.

66% really?

And they are reducing the number being sent home, since we have a typical leftist argument over terminology we have t use generic terms...while more known and identified criminals flood in.

This is where reality leave in my opinion. I do not understand a country that will put a person in jail for 30 years for 16 grams of pot while ignoring the invasion of gangs, or mini-terrorists, Again Canada is "nice" to the point I sometimes want my one Glock, but we have no hesitation in sending them directly back to their point of origin usually the nearest US land crossing. And I recently learned we confiscate all assets to pay for the trip.

It's all about them, just ignore the fact that two thirds of every gang member stole into the country...

One massive haul and deportations virtually destroys the drug gangs overnight, reduces their number by two thirds cut illegal drugs sales by half at least....and Obama says no?

Nope, still not getting this policy

The 500,000 per year number is from the Bush administration. That's the NET increase. Obviously more came across....

Weird how conservatives get this wrong so often. :doh

I don't mind rational discussion of immigration, but when you guys ignore that the problem has been with us since Reagan's last amnesty, 12 million arrived before Obama, and net illegals have DECREASED under this POTUS, it makes it hard to take your complaints seriously.
