Iran's Khamenei says could accept fair nuclear compromise

why would he be expected to know the location/disposition of WMD stockpiles never identified by him and his team

It was his job. And it was his UN predecessors that had identified the weapons and their then locations years earlier, before Saddam stopped their inspections. At that time the UN head inspector resigned and criticized the Security Council and Clinton for not being rigorous enough in pursuing the problem of Saddam's WMD. Later it was the same blocking techniques that hindered Blix.

you make no sense
it is irrational thinking such as that which got us into an unnecessary war

Of course it make sense. For one thing we knew that the weapons had been there and Saddam did not disclose their whereabouts. As is turned out they had fallen prey to the financial stress of the UN sanctions regime that had worked better than expected. The "WMD materials" were later found strewn around the country. But come on. You know that. And he had not been able to find those "WMD materials". He was just a loudmouth failure.

you would have expected Blix to located and identify WMDs that were not present to be found

ok, here's your assignment. tell us how many abortions were not reported last year

Damn it man, what is wrong with you????? When did I say that if believe that the worlds nuclear powers are going to rid themselves of their nuclear capabilities? I said for the umpteenth time, that it is my preference that everybody eliminates nuclear weapons and the world have NONE!!! Why are you stumbling on this concept so?

And I'd like everyone to make $150/hr while maintaining milk and gas prices at $1/gal.

Now that's real hope and change right there. You got my vote. Where's my check? When can I expect it? I worked an hour just the other day there. Two. Two hours. It took one hour just to get ready for the other one.

But the materials were still present as were the remains of the WMD and their programs. But Saddam didn't think he would be forced to let Blix look around. So Blix could not search and destroy, as he was supposed to do. Instead he just blabbered around talking up a rage on the anti American street and thereby helping to persuade Saddam that he was safe. After the war the deteriorated weapons were found with no help from the inspector. What is very sad, is that people like you still have been too lazy to look up the facts. It is sad, because it is an important issue and there are really important lessons in the way everything went. But those lessons are hidden from you behind your misinformation on the matter.

what is significant is that people like you fail to recognize that Blix was not allowed to complete his search for WMDs
because the chickenhawks were too busy beating war drums

Maybe you need a welfare check to help you buy that.

That, and a small thermonuclear device. Other people have 'em. Why can't I have one? I promise I won't use it. Really.

Oh, I had read that link long ago and its content had long ago been positively considered in my opinion. But thank you all the same. As it turned out, his "retirement" was no guarantee against his falling prey to his ambitions

Now that's some nonsense, lol, fell prey to his own ambitions. With each post you become less and less articulate, and a waste of time.

He's an astonishingly waste of time. The Iraq war it turns out is Hans Blix's fault.

Well sure, I realise the notion that America would eliminate the very illegitimate and indiscriminate nuclear weapons cache is as silly as what your hoping for. The difference between what the two of us would like to see is that I actually would like to see a global ban on and elimination of nuclear weapons, whereas you have no desire that everybody earn $150.00 an hour, your not even willing to let the minimum wage be raised to $12.00 an hour. Your post was nothing more than satirical snark, empty and void.

No. People like me know what they are talking about, because they did the homework before shooting off their mouths.

Then let's just agree Blix didn't do his job for whatever reason.

That sounds like some egalitarian communism. lol

Ok. So you're arguing that the US does, or doesn't have the authority to decide whether Iran has a military nuclear capability? Never mind the fact that Iran has maintained the civilian nature of the program all along!

A civilian nuclear program is like 90% of a nuclear weapons program, and they could go the last 10% in secret and announce it after the fact. That, or let it be an open secret, like Israel does its nuclear weapons arsenal. Given Iran's ambitions in the region, there's no particular reason to believe them when they say they have no intention of going that last 10%.

My main point is that all authority is self appointed. Even in democracies, the electorate has collectively self appointed itself the right to decide who their leader will be. Iran's nuclear ambitions are self appointed, and the United States' intention to stop them is self appointed.

So your arguing that there are no authorities, and as such it's silly that America might be thinking its their business. I think I understand your point.

No. I'm saying that you accusing America's authority of being self appointed is unmeaningful because all authority is self appointed.

Right, so then there is no authority, I think I have your opinion.
