Islamic State says U.S. hostage killed in Syria

Islamic State says U.S. hostage killed in Syria | Reuters

The Islamic State militant group said on Friday that an American woman hostage it was holding in Syria had been killed when Jordanian fighter jets bombed a building where she was being held, the SITE monitoring group said.

In Washington, U.S. officials said they could not confirm that the woman, who has been identified as 26-year-old aid worker Kayla Mueller of Prescott, Arizona, had been killed.

Mueller was the last-known American hostage held by Islamic State, which controls wide areas of Syria and Iraq and has executed five British and American aid workers and journalists in recent months.

Heya Monte :2wave: .....the good news is you can only go back about 270 years where you can blame the US for all its killings. All its carnage. Hows that make you feel that you can't blame the US for anything before then?????

Now Monte......for how many we have killed and heinously too. Lets get that in there we wouldn't want to forget that so you can get that shot in that the US and its people are such ****ing crazed killers, that we are no different than any other Humanoids. Okay.....are we good now, that all Americans are pieces of **** in your eyes.

So now.....for each and everyone we killed. How many have we helped and bettered their lives? How does that make you feel that the US has helped more people and countries than all the people we have killed and brutalized. Does that make you sad that our good works outweigh all of our bad works by 100 fold?

It makes me no difference if such hyperbole makes you feel better. But honestly, all Americans are not responsible for US foreign policy. That responsibility is on the backs of sometimes as few as a couple individuals in a given administration, sometimes perhaps as many as hundreds. Americans are hundreds of millions, so no, they are far from pos. Americans have been deceived on multiple occasions by presidents and administrations into supporting unnecessary wars and other actions that advance only the interests of the oligarchs, or the power and treasure of politicians. I still don't understand how you and your partisan buddies on the right can only find fault with the left, nor how the partisan left seems only to be able to blame the right? Truly amazing thing to me.

War is hell. Shame you can't see the hundreds of millions the US has freed from those who would have killed them or forced them to surrender to their victors. There are still a few survivors of concentration camps living, perhaps you could let them know how much you object to the US for the sacrifices made to save them.

War is hell indeed. A very good reason to do EVERYTHING possible to avoid it, as opposed to making up things about, and demonising people, in order to rush to it.

The same CIC that many republicans believe is totally incompetent. The same CIC that said sure lets pull our troops out of Iraq despite being warned numerous times that it is a bad idea, that if you pull out too early the terrorist will take over. But I suspect that is lost on him.

There are NIE's documenting the FACT that the 2003 invasion of Iraq brought with it an escalation in Islamic extremists and terrorism in the Middle East! Partisan politics won't put that genie back into the bottle.

Truth is not hyperbole.

How long is this slimy coward Obama going to let this evil go on. Chopped off heads, men burned alive, women killed and probably worse. . . . and what does Obama do? He cries about the 1,000 year old Crusades.

Let me tell you guys something: If you enable evil, if you refuse to call out evil, then you ARE evil. And Obama is evil.

The Germans who knew what Hitler was doing to the Jews and chose to turn their heads and pretend it want happening were just as guilty as Hitler himself. And Obama, who can't even use the words "Islamic Terrorists", who "leads from behind", who refuses to really fight them and eradicate them, is just as evil as they are.

I hop the b*stard rots in hell, in the same part of hell as ISIS.
I know you visualize Obama wearing a cape and leaping small buildings in a single bound, but ultimately there are only so many resources that even the leader of the free world has to prevent malevolent actions in all 7 billion people on the planet. You're unrealistic in your expectations.

I'll stick with my assessment of your response being hyperbolic hysteria.

The history of man, it would appear, is to expand and conquer. You've got a lot of work ahead of you to change the genetic code. Again, not to worry, others will always step up to try to protect you from the others who want your head. I understand they won't take your disdain for their willingness to die for you to heart.

Well, I certainly will have to agree with your cynicism on the nature of humanity. That's humanity period, not all humanity except for American leaders. Furthermore, in my 53 years, no soldier that has fought and died or been injured fighting has done so on behalf of me. I was never under any threat, and still am not. There are places I won't travel in this world due to destructive US policies that have caused people to hate me just for being an American though, and that's unfortunate. And also, I haven't disdain for the soldier, I was one too. I know what its like to be young and so inclined. Soldiers have little autonomy. When Bush rolled up his sleeves to duke it out with Hussein, he sent 4,500 young soldiers to do the dirty, costly work. He's comfortable in his nice Dallas studio writing books and painting, not too concerned for the lives those young men gave to advance his agenda that was based upon his lies.
