Toddler wounds both parents with 1 shot from handgun

For example we certainly don't get our toddlers shooting their parents here
You get your parents killing your children by drinking and smoking while pregnant and then taking them to a dysfunctional hospital for treatment, resulting in death: BBC News - Why the UK has a high child death rate

At least this wasn't intentional, UK parents kill their children on purpose.

Ok:

What has this to do with your massively higher gun crime statistics ?

Australia had 11 gun massacres before 1996 and none after introducing much tougher gun legislation. Its tougher laws have been a great success

This is a pro gun lobby site

Your 2009 link is well out of date

Crime at lowest level for 30 years | UK news | The Guardian

What have any of your other ancient links got to do with firearms? We had 96 gun homicides in 2000 but had only 39 in 2013 (latest figures available) that pretty much says it all. Legislation clearly works

That question tells me you didn't watch the video, because if you did, you would know the answer to your question.

And that tells me you don't digest links, which means you aren't here on this site to debate, just complain.

As ever the guy blamed the symptoms rather than the problem. So What ? Do you think deprived inner city areas are unique to the US ?

True, you are the guy who blames the symptoms for the problem. The root cause of crime is personal economy and family integrity. Gun control improves neither, and so therefore gun control is not a real answer for anything.

Please cite where I have done so ? The problem in the US is casual unrestricted access to firearms and that is not a symptom

The plethora of links I've already posted all through this thread tell a very different story if you can do math

Still seeing if there will be an apology or at least an admission that Threegoofs misread and misunderstood. He had to go thru it onerously with Capt Courtesy...I think I deserve the same "courtesy." (Silly idea on the Internet, I know)

Right. So therefore training isn't helpful unless you volunteer for it.

Meaning training is not useful if you don't.

Not. Useful.

Of course, this is based on fairly dubious data, since it's pretty tough to control for all the variables. But the common sense argument is that when one gets a gun, basic safety training should be at least SOMEWHAT useful. It's common sense.

Hey- why don't you bring up 'crime' again, since you seem to love that red herring a lot?

Nope. You cannot read properly. Please show, in a quoted post, where I EVER wrote that.

I said that 'mandatory/mandated training has not been shown to make any difference over voluntary training. Again, you cannot process words properly as your exchange with Capt Courtesy also showed.

You seem to be unable to differentiate between mandatory and voluntary. Do you need a dictionary?

But anyway, you now lie or are seriously mistaken. Please post where I said training was not useful?

Apparently those parents passed the courses for concealed carry.

Do you have any idea what's in a CCW class? it's about the law, it's not a gun safey course.

The 2nd Amendment is the fault of the British Army, so go cry me a river.

So hiding 21st century firearms fetishism behind some long obsolete (yet still endlessly tortured) 18th century legislation makes it all OK with you then ?

Your conscience is clear :(

Hackery ?

A year after Newtown, America's gun carnage continues with no end in sight | Michael Cohen | Comment is free | The Guardian

When the next high school mass assault occurs as it surely will, do not pretend to be surprised. Every single thoughtless firearms apologist shares an indirect culpability. Yes….I meant every single one.

Why does anyone need an AR 15 in their lives ?

to kill people who take their rights away based on the blatant lie that disarming good people will keep premeditated kamikaze murderers from killing innocents

when anti gun extremists use the term "fetishism" it proves to most of us that the gun hater is not motivated by an ignorant but not bigoted desire to control real criminals but rather the gun banner has a cultural hatred towards honest gun owners

This guy got his legal weapon from the home of just such a 'good' person as did the last one ... as no doubt will the next. Such people with guns kill people more impulsively, in rapid succession and in huge numbers when access to guns is easier and, in particular, access to automatic weapons whether they be rifles or handguns. There is absolutely no justifiable reason...any...for civilian ownership of high powered automatic rifles and rapid loading high capacity magazines. And until such time that Bambi starts to organize combat assault teams, there is no use for automatic weapons for hunting either.

1) so much BS in that nonsense

want to kill HUGE Numbers of people-guns are inefficient-bombs work much better

2) you apparently are unable to understand the difference between automatic weapons and what Lanza used. That sort of ignorance dooms anything you say on guns to the rubbish heap

3) need has nothing to do with rights and foreign SUBJECTS telling free CITIZENS what they need is worthless

as long as we have people who want to deprive others of their rights, we need to be well armed

Ownership of ever more powerful military assault weaponry has nothing whatsoever to do with defence. It is just an excuse used to hide their true motivations and it is certainly not the reason why many own whole arsenals of such weapons

1) you calling an AR 15 "powerful military assault weaponry" continues to demonstrate you haven't a clue what you are talking about.

2) my motivations are patent. Its my right and I want to have the means to kill if I have to. I also like having top line rifles for all sorts of sporting applications. But I do keep an M4 Carbine set up solely for use against assholes.

3) what makes you so hateful of gun owners? I see lots of "misery" craves company from the disarmed subjects across the pond

You realize that that "ever more powerful military assault weaponry" is used in less murders than blunt instruments. Lol.

And since you have the "answers" why don't you tell us the true motivation behind owning an ar15?

Btw you don't seem educated on the pros of using an ar15 for home defense. I would be happy to point them out.

Nuff said

How so? If he has to protect his family and home he should be allowed to. We know that the UK does not respect a man's right to protect himself or his home.

Nuff said

exactly. free men make the safety of themselves and family a personal duty. Cowards outsource that to the government

Yet they seem to be a favourite amongst those with a lot of massacring to do dont they ?

I don't know what inadequacies you are addressing only you know that

Have many burglers been killed using AR 15s then because I'll wager far more innocents have been massacred using them ?
