Target Stores closes all Canadian outlets.

Was in Target this weekend, massive sales everywhere with purchases triggering $5-20 gift cards.

Looks like their plan to liquidate the Canadian merchandise is to make shelf space in the US stores and call it their "new" merchandise line.

It's a shame because I prefer target to Walmart.
Of course that is largely because there were less people in it which is why they closed but still :(

Zellers was far from successful.

Zellers was losing money and that's exactly why they made the deal they made.

Actually I found the Target near me to have about as many customers as the old Zellers, only it was cleaner

I will say that.

The Zellers back in Nova Scotia I used to go to was a proper ****hole.

Zellers just always felt horrible to me.

I bet you didn't have as long lines as Walmart though.
I hate Walmart with a passion. Really that is because I don't like being in crowds or waiting in line.
there is of course also.

Strange as that may be, never seen that in a Wal-Mart in Canada...

I don't mind Wal-Mart, got the stuff for cheap that I need man.

Honestly if I were to try and buy the same items in my town I'd be spending 2-3X more.

My only experience with the Canadian Target was looking for stuff for my daughter moving into a new place.
Target was the closest store, but after several trips I was kept finding better stuff for cheaper at
Canadian Tire, and Canadian Superstore.

I had a Zellers now Target soon to be nothing and a Walmart near me. I usually chose to go to Zellers/Target. I really found very little difference in the price but I managed to avoid the throngs at Zellers/Target.
