Eric Holder, top U.S. officials no-shows at Paris unity rally

C'man, France specifically avoided the global war on terror back in the early 2000s. Remember when the 'Murica crowd was running through the streets calling them surrender monkeys? Hell, I bet I could find thousands of posts by right wingers calling them such. Now, it's different because Obama didn't show up. If he had shown up, they would have probably complained that he's stealing the show and not focusing on made up scandals like Benghazi and the IRS thing.

This isn't a political thing....This is the honorable thing to do, show up...What's so hard with showing up?

The ugly truth of it all is Obama didn't give a flying crap about any of this. He doesn't see the big deal with just another armed assault the police should handle.

Why in the heck didn't Holder attend?? He was in Paris. Personally, I would have preferred Kerry and he did want to go, but couldn't break some prior commitments in India.

What a shameful display. And liberals wonder why rational opposition to Obama claim he is sympathetic to radical Islamists.

Right-wing philosophy: political posturing is more important than action

How many world leaders showed up at the hundreds of 9/11 rallies held in the US right after?

That's exactly what I was thinking when I first starting reading this thread.

Remember the call from some to renaming French Fries to 'Freedom Fries'?

Right wing nothing....Good grief....Do you know no boundaries in defending every stupid move this jack ass in office does?

This is at least the third faux outrage thread from the GOP messaging machine over something the French see as no problem.
I'm just glad that so many responsible GOPs have knocked this garbage down.

Talk about childish !

Gottcha....Why wasn't Obama there?

Why should he have been there? Should he travel to every shootout that happens around the world?

So, this was just a run of the mill shoot out? I see....nothing to see here eh?

Pathetic j-mac.

Your dishonest attempts to portray anyone who doesn't outright advocate discrimination and prejudice against muslims as terrorist sympathizers is disgusting and you should be ashamed of yourself.

Do you know how childish that sounds?

I asked you a legitimate question: How many world leaders showed up when 3,000 Americans were killed? Your contention is that we're not being honorable even though the US has been fighting the war on terrorism pretty much alone (Canada and the UK being exceptions) for 14 years. I think we've done our part in showing just how we stand on this issue. However, you seem to want to score political points by claiming that this display of rhetoric would have made a difference. Utter nonsense. We've been showing our stance on terrorism for 14 years. If the 'Murica crown doesn't believe it, they can ask the 5,000 US soldiers who died in Iraq how they feel about that.

It amazes me how often the Conservative argument about Obama is about form rather than substance. Given that we have recovered from the worst recession since the great depression, deficits are narrowing to less than those of his predecessor, the elective wars are winding down, we are returning to full employment; its no wonder that the right is out of substantive arguments. Now they have little to talk about other than the President's golf game, how deeply he bows, to whom he bows and whether he sends the right diplomat to the right function.

Your shallow arguments against the President are duly noted.

Your disdain for America is shown by your choice of calling it "Murica".... So those of us who think Obama made yet another optic blunder on the world stage, are just hicks eh? Is that it?

As far as it making a difference, let me ask you, If your best friend died, and his wake, and funeral were today, would you go? And why would you go? I mean, people die everyday, why is his funeral so special?

Bugger off, in another thread you flat out said I "Stand with the terrorists" because I don't want to discriminate against Muslims.

This all boils down to your hatred for muslims and Obama.

Oh Obama didn't go at the last second to a march in Paris, he loves terrorists...

Dumb, Dumb, Dumb, Dumb, Dumb.

He didn't ****ing go to Sydney either.

We, europeans always knew that We were closer together.
Hopefuly, the leaders come closer again an stop the stupid wars and sactions all over the world.
It's not only french Who didn't follow US at war on terror (UK isn't following). EU People are really tired of US foreign policy and they do not believe on it anymore.

Your feigned outrage at the thought of someone using the 'Murica crowd phrase is pretty telling of how little interest you have in debating the ridiculous arguments you've made. Listen up, j-mac, I won't state it again: France, isn't our best friend. The fact that they have been attacked is pretty bad. Nobody has questioned that. However, when you believe that America is "dishonoring" anything when we've been fighting the war on terror without France, for 14 years, you've pretty much exposed what your posts aren't about. This isn't some outrage that we didn't show up to a friend's funeral, this is outrage that Obama didn't show up. If he had shown up, you would have found another reason to complain. That's just how you work and this thread makes it clear.

when did we "recover"... ? its far far worse under Obama.. ask any tax payer

All these rallies isnt going to stop terrorism- if governments were serious about stopping terrorist attacks then all they have to do is stop meddling in the Middle East.

I suggest you learn about the Jihad... spend some time in a Maddrass.. you are incorrect. you may want to check into this little movement called ISIS..

Is it more tragic than any other mass killing? The motivation of the shooters warrants the president of the United States traveling across the ocean?
