US government offering $5M reward for Al Qaeda leader freed from Gitmo

It won't work because everyone knows they USA will never pay it.

You'll have to explain this statement, especially the second half. Offering a reward for information on his whereabouts would seem to suggest an emphasis on preventing US casualties would it not?

What would have prevented U.S. casualties is keeping these animals in prison, not catching them and releasing them

 Then in this particular instance, you should take it up with the guy who was in charge when he was released instead of just haplessly venting about the current administration.

Ibrahim al-Rubaysh was originally released in 2006 by the George W. Bush administration and put into a Saudi Arabian "rehabilitation" program. However, al-Rubaysh returned to the battlefield and now serves as a top leader with Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula -- one of the most dangerous Al Qaeda affiliates.

Thanks Obama!!

Turn him in and they will say "The only way they would have known where he is would be they are a terrorist too" and your five million dollar reward would be the cost of the bomb they are dropping on your house.

"....Ibrahim al-Rubaysh was originally released in 2006 by the George W. Bush administration and put into a Saudi Arabian "rehabilitation" program......"

In case anyone missed this tidbit from the OP's link and wants to blame Obama.

How can anyone continue to support this Administration? Apparently it is only tax dollars and U.S. military lives

You mean the administration that let him go, or the one offering a five million reward for his capture?

You seem to miss the point, stop releasing prisoners from Gitmo to appease your base.

The case underscores the continued risks in transferring detainees from the controversial prison camp -- another four were released over the weekend to Afghanistan.

Thought this group of partisan hacks would understand that Obama is taking a Bush policy and putting it on steroids.

.... Ummm George W. Bush released people from Gitmo to appease... his base? ROFL... Oh boy, I thought my 3 year old breaking news thread had been a big fail... this just looks like it's going to be the winner this year.

The Obama administration is scrambling to track down an Al Qaeda terrorist released from Guantanamo Bay years ago, offering a $5 million reward for information on him and placing him on a global terrorist list.

The fail in this thread is so hard, it almost broke someone's ribs.

This thread went up in flames pretty freaking quickly, didn't it?

It's normally when somebody doesn't read a thread. The fact that the guy was released nearly 8 years ago should have been a big clue. However, all he saw was "I can use this headline to attack the Obama administration!" when in reality, the Obama administration is paying for what a Conservative administration did.

That's what Bush III does best, isn't it?

Still, anyone but a partisan hack can see that the guy they're looking for was released before Obama was elected, right?
