A felon serve in Congress? Michael Grimm will test House

So he's going to hang on to his spot with Grimm determination?

remind me, did you demand Cold Cash Jefferson step down too?

He has been here for... less than 7 months. Jefferson was sentenced 5 years ago and started serving his sentence nearly 3 years ago....

I think most people would agree that congressmen that get busted with failing to pay their taxes and that commit other ethics violations should absolutely resign. That should be a given.

From the link:

"in addition to the tax evasion plea, Grimm also publicly admitted to hiring undocumented workers, lying under oath while serving in Congress, obstructing federal and state officials, and cheating employees out of employment insurance claims."

Yeah, it might be time for him to go.

"A felon serve in Congress?"

In my view there are more than 500 felons in congress.

I'm interested in his opinion

IMO, the House should expel him.

Here's a couple lists of representatives that have gone wrong, one list is of censured and the other is of reps. convicted.

List of United States senators expelled or censured - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

List of United States Representatives expelled, censured, or reprimanded - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

List of American federal office holders convicted of crimes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pretty extensive, and it brings old memories back to people I had forgotten about.

Is Charlie Rangel still in Congress?

Is Charlie Rangel still in Congress?

Yeah, I about to say. Isn't cheating and / or not paying your taxes a felony?
Funny, that'd apply to Sharpton as well. He's like $4.5M in arrears.

Rep. Grimm pleads guilty but won't resign from Congress - CNN.com

This is the same jerk who threatened to throw a journalist/reporter over a railing and break him in half when he was asked about his federal investigation into fund raising for his campaign.

classy, huh?

and want's to remain a representative, unreal.

In Canada, a sitting Member of Parliament or a Senator who was convicted of such an offense would automatically vacate their seat and be prohibited from running for any elected office federally or provincially for seven years.

This should be one matter that is entirely bipartisan - throw the bum out.

If Juanita Broddrick's claims were true and accurate, Bill Clinton raped her in a hotel room. If that is the case, then a FELON, unconvicted type, ran the government for 8 years.

A felon in congress? I suspect there are many unconvicted felons in congress.
