SEOUL, South Korea (AP) -- President Barack Obama is "recklessly" spreading rumors of a Pyongyang-orchestrated cyberattack of Sony Pictures, North Korea says, as it warns of strikes against the White House, Pentagon and "the whole U.S. mainland, that cesspool of terrorism."

We'll be swimming in our own blood.

What we really need like a hole in the head is a full fledged war on China's boarder. I hope that China thinks that way too.

North Korea threatens US, otherwise known in NK as a Monday morning.

Why be surprised? You are right. Noko is a rogue state and they have proven it over and over. But the Chinese like it that way or are at lest not willing to stop it. The question is what to do about it.

The Chinese are as unhappy with the North Koreans as the US is.

But the reason China tentatively supports NK is two fold.

1) China doesn't want an American ally on its border if Korea reunified through the South.

2) the refugee crisis should the North collapse from the inside would be very expensive for China.

I know it may not seem like it most of the time, but China is as fed up with Pyongyangs antics as anyone and if NK does another nuclear test you'll see Jinping take a very hard line with them.

If China wanted to reign them in, I think they would have. I think they are like the dog the sic on us, and now is perfect timing. There was talk about restricting financial access through China which is one of their few sources of hard currency but I think China enjoys watching this.

You are right, it does not seem like that most of the time.

Well that's because you don't know a lot about North korea, you only posted this thread to point out how "weak" Obama is, not knowing North Korea threatens the U.S. three times every day before breakfast.

Obama said the cyberattack caused a lot of damage to Sony but that the company should not have let itself be intimidated into halting the public release of "The Interview," a lampoon portraying the assassination of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

It was the first time the United States had directly accused another country of a cyberattack of such magnitude on American soil and set up a possible new confrontation between longtime foes Washington and Pyongyang. Obama said he wished that Sony had spoken to him first before yanking the movie, suggesting it could set a bad precedent. "I think they made a mistake," he said.

"We cannot have a society in which some dictator someplace can start imposing censorship here in the United States," he said. "Because if somebody is able to intimidate folks out of releasing a satirical movie, imagine what they start doing when they see a documentary that they don't like, or news reports that they don't like.".....snip~

Some are questioning if what the N. Koreans did.....was an Act of War. Which is making its way around the Hill with the usual cast of characters.

In another news piece they are saying.....If BO takes his proportional action, then they will do what they are saying here. But they say they can prove it wasn't them and want a joint investigation.

Go back and read my thread starts-Im well aware of the routine, but this cyber warfare is new, and they are emboldened by our weak leader. They probably see what happened in Cuba as evidence our chump potus will cave.

Sony made a huge blunder by caving-now anytime they want something they will threaten to blow up an American movie theater. Its an act of war, either on us or Japan.

Mornin Jog. :2wave: Whatever we do they are saying it is limited.

OBAMA'S OPTIONS

Despite Obama's stern warning to North Korea, his options for responding to the computer attack by the impoverished state appeared limited. The president declined to be specific about any actions under consideration. North Korea has been subject to U.S. sanctions for more than 50 years, but they have had little effect on its human rights policies or its development of nuclear weapons. It has become expert in hiding its often criminal money-raising activities, largely avoiding traditional banks.

U.S. experts say Obama's options could include cyber retaliation, financial sanctions, criminal indictments against individuals implicated in the attack or even a boost in U.S. military support to South Korea. It could also take the largely symbolic step of restoring North Korea to its list of countries designated as sponsors of terrorism, which carries automatic restrictions.....snip~

So hackers outside America target a japanese company's american film division separate of the U.S. government over a film depicting their leader being assassinated and that's somehow Obamas fault...

Do you guys even try to make sense anymore?

Has Obama responded to this yet? What if it was the Pentagon they hacked into? Or our electrical grid? I sure hope there is something going on behind the scenes that will make them think twice about attacking our networks again. I just don't think anything will be done.

If there is no robust reaction that will teach'em.
