Kennesaw City Council rejects mosque proposal

Weak Arguments of an Authoritarian.

You wanting to throw Radical Islam in with the rest of Islam clearly shows your ignorance on the subject.
So you throwing one Christian under the bus with the rest isn't?

Hypocrisy!

Everyone you come across.

Again you're not even trying anymore, you continue to participate in this thread by arguing semantics with nothing really to support any good reason why muslims and these particular folks shouldn't have the right to worship as everyone else does.

What freedom would we be giving up that you care so much about? [if you say religion I'm gonna tell you the same as Jet]
I have no idea what bills may be crafted in the future so I cannot answer this due to not being psychic, but we never got our freedoms back from the patriot act and I am unwilling to lose more due to irrational paranoia

Some of the fundamental changes to Americans' legal rights by the Bush administration and the USA Patriot Act following the terror attacks:*

* FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION: Government may monitor religious and political institutions without suspecting criminal activity to assist terror investigation.*

* FREEDOM OF INFORMATION: Government has closed once-public immigration hearings, has secretly detained hundreds of people without charges, and has encouraged bureaucrats to resist public records requests.

* FREEDOM OF SPEECH: Government may prosecute librarians or keepers of any other records if they tell anyone that the government subpoenaed information related to a terror investigation.*

* RIGHT TO LEGAL REPRESENTATION: Government may monitor federal prison jailhouse conversations between attorneys and clients, and deny lawyers to Americans accused of crimes.*

* FREEDOM FROM UNREASONABLE SEARCHES: Government may search and seize Americans' papers and effects without probable cause to assist terror investigation.*

* RIGHT TO A SPEEDY AND PUBLIC TRIAL: Government may jail Americans indefinitely without a trial.*

* RIGHT TO LIBERTY: Americans may be jailed without being charged or being able to confront witnesses against them.*

In the case of mosques, they do so at the detriment of this country's security and well-being.

[see other countries who allowed such indiscriminate diversity]

Irrational fears of the townsfolk are irrelevant to the 1st amendment and most Muslims are not terrorists. Mosques are no different than churches, synagogs, temples and other religious buildings. The government can not ban one and allow others.

This image probably continues in people's nightmares....reason enough, IMO

~5000 people dying does not justify what your propose

That's like six weeks worth of traffic accidents

That trillion or so would have been better spent on the War Against Traffic (tm)

I don't agree with the extent the Patriot act covered mainly because it didn't go to the root cause. There were mosques in this country who provided support for the 9-11 terrorists and others who committed acts of violence here.

Isn't that what you are basically doing with Muslims? A tiny minority who happen to be crazies and you are lumping them in with all Muslims as though somehow Muslims are prone to terrorism. The vast majority of Muslims are not terrorists just like the vast majority of Catholics are not pedophiles, vast majority of cops are not corrupt, the vast majority of conservatives are not racist, the vast majority of those opposed to war are not Code Pink and so on.

The root cause is people being overly freaked by a statistically insignificant number of deaths.

I hate that people died, of course, but our reaction was disproportionate to the damage and we lashed out emotionally

Again, nothing but a dangerously lackadaisical attitude coming from the Leftists of the world.

The presence of a Mosque could cause others to become Muslim.

Oh the horror.Anything but that. How dare a religious group want to add more people to their religion. What ****en country do they think this is? America?

Its called understanding math and remaining rational which you do not seem to want to do

The way you are acting irrationally about Muslims is the same way many anti-2nd amendment loons act about guns. You probably have better odds of having sex with hot twins, winning the lotto and having your dick sucked by Mila Kunis(maybe those things are a bit of stretch) than being killed in a mass shooting or being murdered by someone with a gun. But but yet those anti-2nd amendment loons act as though mass shootings happen every second and that neighborhoods are piled with the bodies of those murdered by someone using a gun.

So you are okay with denying people the right to practice their religion in the United States of America?

Not allowing them to build a Mosque, is not denying them the right to practice their religion.

Now if the town tries to make "Islam" illegal, then you would have something.

That they think they're doing right does not remove the town's right to restrict their false religion.

They are not "building a mosque". Why are so many who comment in this thread seemingly incapable of reading the OP's linked article?

For example Islamists ****ed my country but they are still making up stories, claming that they can't practice their religion freely.Accusing everybody that opposes mandatory religion classes for 4 yo kids of being intolerant bigots.

Your Country is a disgrace and their actions have no place in the civilised world.

The presence of an evangelizing religion most certainly could cause people to convert to it.

Yet I don't see you having the same issue with other religious establishments.

Why? Because you "agree" with them?

Are you not concerned that by treating others this way, you invite that same treatment yourself? From others that don't agree with your faith?

Denying them to lease a building for a mosque, is not denying them the right to practice their religion.

Is that better?
