Democrats take to House floor in ‘Hands up, don’t shoot’ Ferguson protest

"Hands Up! Don't Shoot!"

Gee whiz. If Brown had done that, he'd have gotten a minor beef, that the cop may not even had done anything about, but then, that's not what he did, is it?

This whole thing appears to be designed to detract from the facts of the case in favor of a dishonest and inaccurate narrative.

Cops aren't the ones that are killing the vast majority of the black male youth. Other black male youths are.

I am also a Texan who thinks you are wrong. It's the conservatives who have given the bird to this state. But believe me, as soon as I am able to pack my bags and leave the state the better, and I was born here!

Lol !!

Yes, we've ( Conservatives ) have actually built a strong and growing economy using the very principles hacks like you claim do not work.

Weve not only created jobs for millions of Texans we've created jobs for millions of people who've bailed out of Liberal Blue plague States like California.

States that practice the Liberal economic principles that lead to poverty, dependence, debt and mediocrity.

So dont let the door with a single lone star painted on it hit you in the ass.

Its clear after the last election we dont want the Progressive cancer here in the Great RED State of Texas.

Who said there was a concerted effort to "Help things in Ferguson"?

The continuing civil protest of "Hands up, Don't Shoot" has nothing to do with the GJ action or Ferguson in particular.

Anyone that has a problem with the protests can go kick rocks.

:lamo :bs :bs

93% of blacks murdered are killed by other blackss

many of those murders are not solved due to this idiocy that is popular in many black areas

do_not_snitch_blk_tshirt-rabc13cd807d54c509195182256557294_va6lr_324.jpg

about 80% of those murdered and the same percentage of those who commit murder have criminal records

So it doesn't bother you that Obama and the democrats only ever respond to shootings when they can get some political points out of it?

Well sure, but both sides are guilty off that all the time. My only point was that if this results in substantial civil reform, then this is a good thing.

When were the police militarized?

This is not what a free country looks like. This is the standing army that the founders warned us about....

Heya TD. :2wave: Giuliani got into it with Dyson over this. Of course when the Left figures out why they send Dyson to speak out in the first place. They might be able to see the writing on the wall.

That's despite Dyson using all those Big Words that he doesn't really understand. Nor know how to spell.

I am not a big fan of Rudy G since he buys into the NYC idiocy on gun rights limitations but he's a mental giant compared to the moron he filleted

When Dyson was here in Chicago down at DePaul University.....he couldn't handle the bruthas that were jumping into his **** over the way he speaks.

Dyson can't handle being around the street people, as then he comes off looking like the Nerd. He was always meant to be.

Seems the Chicago bruthas don't care much for Dyson's take on reality.

The "hand up, don't shoot" training is ideal and this should be taught in every school. Seriously, kids need to be taught exactly that. Have school teens rehearse it. TEACH KIDS HOW TO ADDRESS AND RESPOND TO POLICE.

TOP OF THAT LIST?

If the police are pointing a gun at you, remember that slogan "hands up, don't shoot." DO IT.

Hell, that should be a test question in graduation requirement tests.

Question: "What should you do if a police officer is pointing a gun at you?

A. Run like hell
B. Tell the officer to "go to hell."
C. Put your hands up and say "don't shoot."
D. Try to get the gun away from the officer
E. Put your hands in your pocket

Any student who doesn't get that one right has to take the civics class again.

That would eliminate nearly every instance of questionable police shootings.

It's a sad state of affairs when we have to teach that kinda stuff to children. Police (the ones in question, not saying this of all cops) should really exercise more caution and common sense on the job. Don't put your goddamn finger on the goddamn trigger until you have assessed the situation properly. Pretty simple stuff.

A handful of Democrats took to the House floor to protest the lack of an indictment in the shooting of an unarmed teen in Ferguson — raising their arms to their chest and displaying open palms in a “Hands up, don’t shoot” gesture.

Among the congressional members to send the not-so-subtle message of alliance with St. Louis-area protesters late Monday night were New York’s Hakeem Jeffries and Yvette Clarke, as well as Texas’ Al Green.

Ferguson protest: Hakeen Jeffries, Yvette Clarke, Al Green go 'Hands up, don't shoot' on House floor - Washington Times

Saw this on Morning Joe's show (complete with pictures of the idiots doing it). He's about to boil over. This is day 2 of his rants about the idiots who are perpetuating the lie that the PD shoots people whose hands are raised in surrender.

Nice. Now our lawmakers are doing this? And this is supposed to help the current situation in Ferguson....how?

You want to object to the GJ's decision....fine. I get that and while I disagree, I support it. But to see lawmakers intentionally carrying on a lie and implying that the police officers shot Brown while he was in surrender is disgusting. But except for Joe Scarborough and a few right wingers, nobody will call them to task for this.

That is just ridiculous. They of all people should respect the justice system.

Brown did not have his hands up in the air when shot.

I luv the part how Dyson clings to his title and Hat of.....I am a Minister.

Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani claimed that attention focused on disproportionately white police forces in minority-heavy communities obscured the problem of black-on-black violence, which got a rise out of professor and MSNBC contributor Michael Eric Dyson, who argued Giuliani was engaged in a massive false equivalency.

“First of all, most black people who commit crimes against other black people go to jail,” Dyson said. “Number two, they are not sworn by the police department as agents of the state to uphold the law….White people who kill black people do not go to jail.”

At that point Giuliani took off his glasses, which apparently is his sign that it’s time to rumble. “[Black on black crime] is the reason for the heavy police presence in the black community,” Giuliani claimed. “Why don’t you cut it down so so many white police officers don’t have to be in black areas?… The white police officers wouldn’t be there if you weren’t killing each other.”

This is the defensive mechanism of white supremacy in your mind,” Dyson said.....snip~

Btw.....note that line by Dyson. Right there at the end.....its why he should never be back on TV again!

I never said otherwise. I was simply establishing that it is a sad state of affairs.

No...thats is an appropriate response to a riot. Every one of those individuals has a family. They have a right to safely do their job and return home to them.

How many people died in Ferguson because of cops in that gear?

"I am a minister". Al Sharpton's a man of the cloth too. Doesn't he do an exemplary job of promoting peace, understanding and harmony? Kind of like Reverend Wright.

I'm surprised Rudy didn't get beaten up for his comments.

I would pretty much guarantee that more people died in Chicago in November because of gang violence and thuggery than died at the hands of men who are dressed like that in the last 5 years.

Amazing. It's the first time I've heard of congress people engaging in showboating.

They only tend to do it on days that end in a "y".

But normally when they do it, it isn't showboating that perpetrates a lie that needs to stop before already bad situations escalate even further and more innocent citizens' places of business are destroyed.

Looks like a lot of protection for the police. We sure don't want that! I heard a SWAT guy talking about how they are able to rescue people and save people when they have these type of armored vehicles. What about tanks, rocket launchers, attack fighters, etc...? I don't see any of those offensive weapons in use. Any police departments have cruise missiles?

You are against police using tear gas and having body armor, like the last photo? Why in the world would you be against that?
