Not mood....mold. lol

She doesn't fit the conservative mold.....

That's a Liberal mold of whar Conservatives are.

Archie Bunker was a Northern union member, too.

lol I think it's going to take a lot more than a Mia Love or Alan West to change the black vote. Do conservatives really think blacks are that stupid?

There's no question that Libbos think black folks are stupid.

Re: Meet Mia Love. You’ll be seeing a lot more of the Republicans’ first black [W:110

Y'all insist that crticism of Obama is racism. Time for y'all taste your own medicine. How's it taste?

It would be really cool if you stayed on the topic of Mia Love.

Really?

Okay, so do you really think Mia Love will convince "libbo, black folks" that republicans aren't racist? After all, that is who ya'll are trying to convince, right?

Then that goes for apdst too.

There are a lot of trolling posts in this thread too from a few posters, some I see myself, others I see quoted. It's obnoxious. It would be nice if people appreciate this fresh young face in a Congress where fresh young faces are badly needed.

It would spell disaster for you if it did.

You honestly believe that the election of one black woman to the U.S. House is going to change African American perceptions of the Republican Party. After all, this is a party that actively courted the 'negrophobe' vote (in the immortal words of Republican strategist Lee Atwater) and continues to do so.

It's amazing how much Archie Bunker resembles Rush Limbaugh, though. I dunno, is life imitating art or is art imitating life?

Unfortunately, I have become too cynical to believe that Washington won't corrupt any new face on either side of the aisle.

1970 Wiggen? Seriously? That's what you post to diminish Mia Love's election?

No, it does not "continue to do so". Blacks are as free as anyone else to vote for Republicans or be Republicans. There are and have been black Republicans. She isn't the first.

That's my concern too (posted about it earlier). I don't really believe Washington is the way it was portrayed in Legally Blonde 2, and a fresh face and mind can blow into town and fight corruption and influence and the power of the big parties. I hope she's different, but time will tell.

Probably not going to change many peceptions. However, I'm fairly certain the Presidents threatened immigration policy is going to change African American perceptions of the Democrat Party.

The lobbyists control the country now. They even write the legislation.

It is noteworthy because she is in Utah. The same thing goes for South Carolina.

How many black women in Congress can the Dems claim to...that were elected in mostly white districts?

You illustrate my point: you think black people are stupid enough to fall for the fear tactics, forever.

It's amazing how much John Kerry resembles Lurch.

Can't you just smell the desperation?

I don't know if it's desperation or something else, but it's been a while since I saw a thread that contained so many lying posts and so many off the wall posts. The election of a black conservative female is sure upsetting a lot of posters.

That's because it isn't suppose to happen.

Just like the election of a black dem male upset a lot of right wingers, right?

Must be why Republicans are so wildly popular in the South. And what - 1970 was a hundred years ago? That sort of mindset doesn't disappear overnight. Saying there are and have been black Republicans says nothing. So what? Until the Republican party demonstrates that it gives a damn about black voters - or Hispanic voters - and stops actively courting the southern white bigot vote, it will remain irrelevant to minority voters.

No, it happens. And when it does happen, the Far Right acts as though the world has now changed in their favor. It's an anomaly, just like Alabama electing a liberal white guy to anything would be.
