Don't hold your breath. Remember that highest public office ever afforded to a black woman was Sec. State Condi Rice. If you were to listen to most liberals on Rep. racism/sexism, you would think that she never existed.
Nor Colin Powell.

Re: Meet Mia Love. You’ll be seeing a lot more of the Republicans’ first black congre

Heya Apache. :2wave: They were worse than that with her in 2012. Then after she Gave the Republican speech.

Mia Love, Republican Mayor In Utah, Receives Photos Of KKK Member, Aborted Fetuses.....

Utah mayor and GOP congressional candidate Mia Love was sent an envelope containing racist and disturbing photos. The black, female Republican says she's become a target because she "poses a problem to the policies of the Obama administration." The thick envelope arrived at Love's office in Saratoga Springs, Utah, City Manager Mark Christensen told the Deseret News. The envelope reportedly contained a photo showing Love, her husband and a hooded Ku Klux Klan member as well as pictures of aborted fetuses.

Love responded to the "divisive racially and negative racially" photos, saying "I want you to know, I want everyone to know I am comfortable in my skin. I'm comfortable and proud of my heritage..." the Deseret News report.

Back in August, Fox News reported that Love's Wikipedia page had been "vandalized" with racist and sexist epithets after she delivered her speech at the Republican National Convention in Tampa. Fox News reported offensive language to the Wikipedia page read "dirty, worthless w---e," "sell-out" to the "right wing hate machine" and "House N-----."

OMG. That is just so wrong. Disgusting.

Re: Meet Mia Love. You’ll be seeing a lot more of the Republicans’ first black congre

gee thanks. and I wouldn't call all liberals fatheaded idiots with the emotional fortitude of a 12 year old girl.

ReIax Joe. I was just giving my friend Tres the business.

Re: Meet Mia Love. You’ll be seeing a lot more of the Republicans’ first black congre

I certainly wouldn't call all republicans racist, sexist and homophobic.

I wouldn't call all democrats that either.

Re: Meet Mia Love. You’ll be seeing a lot more of the Republicans’ first black congre

Your statement is true. Some people vote democrat blindly. Just like there are some people who vote republican blindly. I know that for a fact living in Dallas.

Also, you would be amazed at how manly black people who are conservative. Think about it.

1) We take our faith very serious
2) We don't trust government (do research on the black panther movement)
3) As a whole, we are probably more anti homosexual than any race out there.

What is stoping many blacks from switching to conservative is the feeling of being the enemy to many in your base. Primarily in the southern and midwest region.

Very interesting post, and very spot on. Black people can be very socially conservative. They take their faith seriously, and to your point about anti-homosexual, it was the black community in CA that passed Prop 8, even while casting a vote for Democrats and Obama on the same ballot.

I always assume about 1/3 of the population blindly votes single party in every election.

Re: Meet Mia Love. You’ll be seeing a lot more of the Republicans’ first black congre

It's been over 30 years since Reagan first called black women "welfare queens"

Another leftist lie. It seems that being a Democrat equals being ignorant of American history.

Yeah TB. :2wave: Mia is one of my favorites out there.....I had a thread on her way back in 2012 around here somewhere. People were sending her porn and all kinds of crap. Due to her also being a Mormon.

With all the Women we had win last night and Firsts all over the place. The War on Women is essentially over. We have plenty willing to take on those from the left that want to bring that issue around. This time......from Women and their take.

You know, it never ceases to amaze me how much that lie is repeated.

Reagan never said anything about color.
He never used the words "welfare queens".

It's beyond pathetic that idiotic lies get repeated through the generations so that the unknowing who walk among us actually think the leftist lies are true. Amazing.

Re: Meet Mia Love. You’ll be seeing a lot more of the Republicans’ first black congre

The word "BLACK' is only allowed to be nonracist if mentioned for a
Conservative Republican such as Justice Thomas, Congresswoman Love and Senator Scott .

Pretty random post Nimby. Did you have a point?

Re: Meet Mia Love. You’ll be seeing a lot more of the Republicans’ first black congre

I wouldn't call all democrats that either.

Gotta love her name. Mia Love. I am always surprised when I see African Americans that are LDS.

Re: Meet Mia Love. You’ll be seeing a lot more of the Republicans’ first black congre

Nor Colin Powell.

Oh yeah, the guy that said this:

“There’s also a dark vein of intolerance in some parts of the party” he continued. “What I do mean by that? What I mean by that is they still sort of look down on minorities. How can I evidence that? When I see a former governor say that the president is ‘shucking and jiving,’ that’s a racial-era slave term. When I see another former governor — after the president’s first debate, where he didn’t do very well — saying that the president was lazy. … And then there’s a third word that goes along with it: birther, the whole birther movement. Why do senior Republican leaders tolerate this kind of discussion within the party?”

Or how about this black republican
"We have a black president. We've had two black secretaries of state. We have black CEOs. Obviously African Americans are pushing way into territories that, probably, my grandparents would never have thought possible," she said.

Still, she argued that even though America has "gotten to a place [where] race is not the limiting factor that it once was," she said that "we're never going to erase race as a factor in American life."

"It is a birth defect with which this country was born out of slavery; we're never really going to be race blind," she said.

Condi Rice on Face The Nation
But I get it. Black republicans are cool. As long as they know their place.

Yeah, or Courtney's sister.

That could also be a stripper...

Re: Meet Mia Love. You’ll be seeing a lot more of the Republicans’ first black congre

Are you really pulling the "I have a black friend" line? Really?

He never said that phrase, but there's no secret about what he meant. Regardless...it's very off topic.

So does Obama mean that all liberals aren't racist either, or does that only work for Repubs?

Re: Meet Mia Love. You’ll be seeing a lot more of the Republicans’ first black congre

And Black Liberals will be calling her names in 5...4...3...2...1...

You are correct. He never said that phrase. Moot's post was a lie.

Not sure what Obama means...how did he get into this?

Wait I thought republicans said that black only support black candidates because they are black.

Regarding the LDS thing, she was raised Roman Catholic. I don't know when she converted or why. Maybe her husband is LDS?

Re: Meet Mia Love. You’ll be seeing a lot more of the Republicans’ first black congre

No, they'll use it for all its worth, and keep beating that drum until there isn't an audience any longer. It's going to be a long time coming.

I am afraid you are correct in that assessment. It will take more than an independent and strong woman of color to undo a hundred years of false labeling.

Here, there has been a racist charge for decades that Indians, those from India are discriminated against and that is why some with impressive educations don't get good jobs. That impression is hard and fast in 30% or more of the population, despite the fact we have had Indians in government, a premier, several high profile justices, educators and mayors.

The charge of racism is the meanest, as there is no defense for it. However, the Republicans would do well by using this woman as effectively as possible, she has presence and brains..give her some high profile work and let that help attract other like minded men AND women. But, in all my dealings with American Republicans I worry f they're really ready for "new"....

I bet that went over with her family like a lead baloon.
