GOP seizes Senate

Nimby didn't expect a party change?

Yup, a result of blind party stupidity.

I personally research and vote based on candidates, not party.

Anyone who expected no congressional leadership change was a delusional fool.

Prepare for the invasion of the newbie Republicans on DP.
They've been denying their brand since 2006 but winning one term has changed their tune .

You mean " fair weather " GOPers ?

Well, time to **** or get off the pot. For 6 years the republicans have said the leadership sucks. Let's see what they pass. I want to see a budget and I want to see some real movement on reducing government. If those don't happen then I will continue to consider the republicans the same as the democrats. Also, I would really appreciate it if the republicans don't go on a civil liberties parade.

Good job GOP and " eff " off Ried you useless POS.

I guess this means the lefties on the sight are going to be even more sour than they usual..

Quick question. All the bills that were not moving to the floor for a vote will now have a chance to come to the floor, or will they have to be revoted in the house? I think they can come straight up, but I am not 100%. Can anyone educate me on this?

I think as long as it is in the same session they can be brought up at any time. But once a new session starts those bills become null and void. But that is an assumption on my part. Call it an educational guess.

I wonder if Reid will want his filibuster back?

My favorite Democrat beat down was in the Maryland Gubernatorial race.

Obama had a " Minnie-Me " who lost in a upset.

Nobody seriously thinks things will change significantly because of this, do they?

I think what will change is bills will actually get sent to the President. However, those bills will not change things much. We will not see smaller govt, balanced budgets, lower debt, lower taxes, or more freedom. This is because the people havent changed yet. 90% of incumbents were relected. So the congress didnt actualy change much.

A great day for the GOP, Conservatives, and those opposed to the last six years of liberal fail!

BZZZT. Same 'ol day for right wingers.

Yes, as hard as it is to believe, GOP voters were actually dumb enough to think that voting these clowns into the Senate will actually lead to

1) Repeal of Obamacare
2) Deportation of ALL non-White undocumented immigrants
3) Fuel prices down to $1 w/the opening of the Keystone pipeline
4) More jobs for the uneducated (i. e. right wing-voting blue collar workers)

Only one logical response to such a belief. . .

Konservatives never seem unable to surpass our estimates of their stupidity  Apparently, rush hasn't told the right wingers that a party needs 60 seats to stomp filibusters from the opposing party. Hello?!

It will be interesting to see if Obama takes a page from Bill Clinton and actually works in good faith with congress to get things done. It worked out very well for the country in the 90s and the opportunity is there for the same setup to work again now.

The Republicans better be careful, though. If they take their majority and use it to peruse partisan endeavors instead of focusing on real problems they're going to pay dearly in 2016. I HOPE that they go about their business in a professional manner and pass bills that the American people actually want passed. If they do this then they can put it all on the President to sign them into law or not.

Yes, the GOP won, BUT, they're stupid pants anyway. Very convincing.

Well in my opinion it isn't so much that they pass a budget or just any bill, but bring forward bills that actual have a shot at being signed. Bringing up bills that have no shot at being signed really doesn't do anyone any good and doesn't show leadership qualities. It shows **** you we do what we want qualities.

Haha that guy was a "mini-me"!

That was also one of the most shocking results of the night. Who saw that coming in the very blue Maryland?

Really? And in the People's Republic of Maryland no less.

I think it beats hope and change, but lets find out together.

Well, anything beats a lies except an equal or bigger lie. Hope and Change was America getting rope-a-doped.

Really? And in the People's Republic of Maryland no less.

That one was surprising. Florida Governors race was also surprising - Scott has very low approval ratings but then again, he ran against Christ who is a Repub....., errr... Indepen.... hmm.... Democrat and damaged goods at best.

I wonder if people remember that Ali coined that phrase.

We can only hope for the best.
Since the GOP will have solid majorities in both the House and Senate they should be able to implement their wondrous agenda.
Can't blame the gridlock on Harry Reid anymore.
We shall soon see.

Now it can be blamed on Obama and rightly so.

Does this mean the country is all of a sudden racist again?

I mean a majority voted against Obama's policies.
