GOP seizes Senate

See, I think that was the plan all along, and the longer it stays in place, the more ultimate damage it will do. What can one say about something so corrosive that in this last mid term Obama effectively gagged the insurance actuaries from releasing their upcoming year rate increases forecast as they normally do in October, so that the voters out there wouldn't catch wind of how hard they are about to be hit.

In any case when and if this turd finally does what it was always intended to do and collapse, the only thing our imbeciles in DC come up with is total government provided healthcare, through expanding the Medicare/Medicaid model. At that point only those willing to work for the government will go into Medicine, and we are screwed.

It was originally written with a clause that would have took us to single payer...which I agree with you was the original plan. I still recall Obama's speech in support of single payer where he stated that we could not get there in one step. That clause was removed in an attempt to get at least support from republicans and moderate democrats. With the disasterous rollout of obamacare and it's continued unpopularity, I don't think single payer stands a snowball's chance in hell of passing. I think the left shot it's wad with obamacare and after last Tuesday night's midterms, the democrat party is not likely to go off the cliff on single payer as they did on obamacare. And they will not likely get the chance anytime soon. The democrats under Obama have a net loss of over 70 seats in the House of reps....and the republicans are likely to hold the gerrymandering advantage for decades. The Senate could flip every now and then, however the democrats are not going to be in a position to run the table in congress for quite some time. Single payer is not going to happen in my lifetime and probably not in yours.

Let's see if I have this right.

1. Impeach the President.
2. Attempt to shut down the government again.
3. Expand government again faster than Democrats ever could.
4. Support every foreign intervention that pumps money into favored military industrial complexes in certain districts.
5. Call for special prosecutors to investigate everything the current administration has going on.

Sounds like another great opportunity to show Americans why not to vote for them again come 2016.

That sounds more like a rant then a prediction. You are pulling most of that out of your hat. Especially impeachment.

There are embargo's and restrictions on these tone woods for good reason. Next thing you'll tell me that it's over zealous bureaucracy that is prohibiting guitar makers from using elephant ivory for nuts and saddles.
Wrong. The next thing I am telling you is to stick to the facts.

Being that your location says china, I will give you the benefit of doubt that you aren't up to date on much

Only thing on your list that is even somewhat true is 5

And unless you wear rose colored glasses, it's the exact same thing the dems did to Bush during his administration

Between the IRS, Benghazi, fast and furious, and others, there have been a few anomalies....don't ya think

The pubs will pass a repeal law to the aca, which Obama will veto

After that...who knows

What about the rise of 'Concierge' medical facilities, or co-ops? Would that be a closer to the free enterprise system and a growing option when Obamacare implodes?

So tell me about Harry Reid.

i am making the point that if democrats say they are for something [whatever it might be] , and they get in power they will most certainly enact legislation for whatever that agenda is.

republicans make promises to do things, yet they dont always follow through on doing it, or the promise is so watered down it makes no difference.

part of the problem is the Republican party has been at war with itself for a long time, the party is composed of Conservatives, moderates, liberals, and libertarians.

example.....senators from Maine are for the most part liberal to moderate, and are not so inclined to vote for conservative bills.

democrats have played a part is steering the politicians of the republican party for awhile now, and they will try to steer the republican party as they always do for the next presidential nominee.....to some weak moderate candidate..like a Bob Dole or Romney kind of person, that the majority of republicans do not wish to vote for without holding their nose.

here is something for you to think about, from 2000 to 2007 the republicans ruled government, they could have passed any bill they wanted.

they could have dismantled liberalism in the federal government, gotten rid of the liberal dept of education, reformed government and to smaller less intrusive government, ...did they , no ....they actually expanded government, created more programs, like..."no child left behind", and created unconstitutional laws.

so you see just having the republicans in power does not ensure they will do the right thing, republicans need to return to their roots...... limited government, power to the states, less foreign intervention, get government out of the personal life's of the people.

as for Reid.... he has been Obama's front man, keeping republican bills from reaching the president, keeping Obama from looking like an obstructionist by vetoing every bill the house has passed which is in the several hundred now.

all i am saying is dont put total faith in the republicans, because they have to be watched just as much as democrats do.

A phoney list that for the most part can't be accomplished in 20 years let alone 2 and they know it. It's all about political posturing and not about getting things done for the American people. Interesting to see they're going to attack the ACA again that can't be repealed when time would be better spent improving it. And the repubs want to spend even more money bolstering the military complex that is one if the biggest contributors to our deficit.

The republicans claim to want to reduce the deficit as long as they can spend money on their pet projects.

As long as the majority of Americans oppose the ACA, one should expect the Republicans to use it as either a campaign tool or against the Democrats. the two latest polls on the ACA, CBS News shows 36% in favor, 55% oppose, Rasmussen has it 41% for, 53% against.

To expect anything less is unrealistic. The chances of it being repealed are nil as long as Obama is president. But it none the less is a good wedge issue for Republicans.

Exactly what, in your mind, would prevent them from accomplishing those tasks?

It's all about political posturing and not about getting things done for the American people.

Outside of the ACA, which we already know is seriously unpopular with the population, exactly what has Obama done besides posturing?

Interesting to see they're going to attack the ACA again that can't be repealed when time would be better spent improving it.

The ACA can be repealed. OTOH, it can also be changed into something much different. Obama can veto away.

And the repubs want to spend even more money bolstering the military complex that is one if the biggest contributors to our deficit.

We do spend a lot of money on defense. We do a lot of defending. The interesting thing is that defense spending is, as you admit, only one of the big contributors. What might some of the others be?

The republicans claim to want to reduce the deficit as long as they can spend money on their pet projects.

This is quite natural for the party in power. Remember what Obama said about the deficit before and during his initial campaign? Sure you do. Remember the ACA? Was that not a democrat pet project?

The problem is, the GOP would have to replace it, because just repealing would leave a giant hole in the system.

And when the GOP wants to take away the stuff the ACA gives people, that will be EXTREMELY unpopular, because even though people say they hate the ACA, they seem to like all the stuff INSIDE the ACA (except for the part where they have to pay for it, of course).

The GOP will yap a lot about the ACA, but dont expect any action.

I will probably continue to yap too. But for good, bad or indifferent I think it is here to stay. But yapping about it is good politics especially when those oppose it is over 50% of the public. The Republicans know as long as Obama is president, he is not about to sign a repeal law. So they are free to yap as you put it till the cows come in. They do not have to offer a thing as far as replacement, just yakity yak against.

They have done this in the past to score political points because they knew Reid would table any and all repeal bills that passed the House. The Republicans will tout repeal for the next two years without anything to replace it because they know Reid will filibuster any repeal bill. The Republicans know all this and know they do not have to offer or come up with anything to replace it with. They have free reign to yap and to score political points.

I suppose what I was trying to say, is that we really can't expect much at all from Republicans. They love expanding government as much if not more than the Democrats.

I think removing the mandate will make a lot of people happy.

And there in lays the original dirty little secret put forth by liars and con people, that told us things like "We have to pass the bill, to find out what's in the bill", then never read the damned thing themselves, known as liberal democrats. The ACA was always a 'poison pill'. It was designed that way, and implemented that way, like a drug dealer getting their dupes hooked, you libs always do crap like this that when left in the wake of administrations past, and congressional control lost, it fails so that you can blame your own failures on the other guys...And people call you libs evil....Wonder why?
