Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans[W:466]

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

Liberals should be embarressed as hell that the race card is all their party has. "It's because Obama is black", is probably the most idiotic statement in human history.

Did you forget what G.W. Bush said on July 2, 2003? "Bring 'em on" is what he said. he invited Iraqis to try to kill American troops and a lot of American troops were killed. That's a sad fact.

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

When a Democrat uses race to either promote themselves or explain themselves, it's apparently speaking "truth". When a Republican or anyone else speaks truth about black youth and violence, Democrats claim it's the worst form of racism.

No need to wonder why race will always be an issue in America - as long as Democrats and the left exist, there will always be racism.

So CJ, are you saying my experiences with racism as a black man only exist because someone on the left told me?

This is the problem....

Democrats = Believe everything is racist

Republicans = Believes that racism does not exist

As long as the two sides don't meet in the middle and talk to each other and agree that there is a problem, then racism will always exist.

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

He's not white. Kathy Blanco isn't an old white guy. Mary Landrieau is a 3 term incumbant and she isn't an old white guy.

Oh for crying out loud !!!!

What does that have to do with what she said ???

"The South has not always been the friendliest place for African-Americans."

Is this statement TRUE or FALSE. Very simple

When DEM Blacks who voted in 2012 for Obama are asked by Sen. Laundries to vote for her in 2014, she's racist. When GOPs continue to suppress those very Black voters from 2012 to prevent them from voting in 2014, that's not racism--just the Nixon/Atwater Southern Strategy .

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

WTH? I'm not making any claim that the abuse to blacks did not occur. So why did you only bolden the print in part of sentence? Do you have the same problem not being honest as Ms. Mary? Or did you just now learn that the Dixiecrats were the racists and belonged to the Democrat party that caused the suffering on Blacks and that the first Blacks elected to Congress were from the South and all Republicans. Which is it?

You do know that the Dixiecrats split away from the Democratic party back in 1948? They felt that the democrats party as a whole gave too much support to the civil rights movement and that their southern way of life was in trouble. Now ask yourself, where are these Dixiecrats now? They carried Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and South Carolina. But after the Civil Rights bill was signed, Those states went from blue states to deep red.

Hmmm, now where are they today :unsure13:

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

She made those desperate and sick remarks to drag in the easily influenced.

I would be a little embarrassed if I were you
.

You're not me and you'll never be me.

Try to handle being yourself.

Shocking. I called this 8 months ago. When you have nothing, engage in last minute race baiting. Easiest political prediction ever.

I think both situation is not racist.

I think the suppression of the black vote is tasteless and pitiful. However, I do think it is more of a GOP strategy than it is racism. They know democrats depend on black and hispanic votes. And instead of trying to win them over, their approach is to dilute them. Its pretty obvious, but none of them would admit it.

Again, the reporter ask her this question. It not like she ran a ad on it. I mean she could have been like certain political figures blaming their loss in 2012 on minorities.

If you think that Demo's are going to win Tuesday, you are simply delusional....

Read this from a Black author....

"Blacks have always been conservative or, more accurately, traditionalists. This DNA was embedded in us from the depths of our African ancestry."

snip

When you talk about specific issues that are important to conservatives—abortion, welfare, homosexual entitlements, etc.—Blacks are overwhelmingly supportive. But as soon as you put the label conservative with it, the dynamic changes.

Meanings are in people, not in words. Currently, America and specifically the Black community have allowed liberalism and political correctness to run amuck.

We must breathe new life into the dormancy of our culture. We must water the DNA that is begging to raise its head once more. For the first time in the history of Africa, homosexuality is sweeping across the continent, babies are being born outside of marriage, and they are sending their elderly parents to nursing homes.

I am one who makes a living based on my knowledge and understanding of the use of words and language. Before White and Black conservatives address the Black community on any issues, they first must define their terms of engagement. Bush 43 was called conservative, but spent money like a drunken sailor. Republicans leaders of Congress call themselves fiscally conservative, but constantly support deficit spending.

So, one needs to define what the word conservative means and why it is relevant to a person’s everyday life. Why Black conservatives, especially those with a heart, have not done this is truly a mystery.

I don't own a crystal ball and I don't pretend to know how Tuesday will turn out.

But I do know that even if the GOP takes control of the Senate it will never override an Obama veto.

Wait and see.

As long as the GOP and far-right xenophobes exist there will always be racism.

The race card - for politicians, it's the bastion of the moronic and/or the desperate.

In other words, Obama will become President NO as he vetoes every piece of legislation passed by the peoples representatives in congress. That's quite a legacy

She also said she was a victim of sexism.

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

I'm sure that those G-no-P senators will get paid for sitting around doing nothing.

You have evidence of voter suppression? Probably not, huh?

Every group in this country has some racists. They might be low-profile, but they're there.

There aren't any racist Democrats?

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

The current governer is Indian--first generation American. The previous governer was a woman.

Damn, all those racist sexists in Louisiana voted them in?

;)

Landrieu is a colossal failure.

Good afternoon rcart,

The bolded part above, from your comment, is neither what I said nor what I meant. I don't deny racism exists although in my life, here in Canada, I've very rarely seen it in practice - perhaps that's unique to Toronto or unique to my experience - or perhaps if you don't go looking for racism it generally won't find you.

What I did say, fairly clearly, is that as long as Democrats and the left use racism as a tool in politics and public discourse, racism will always exist. Do you deny that Democrats and the left use racism as a weapon? Do you deny that whenever someone on the right legitimately talks about issues related to black youth and violence they are immediately painted as racists by Democrats and the left?

I can't nor would I discount your own personal life experiences - that would be wrong. But that doesn't discount the point I was trying to make.

Landrieu is a colossal failure.
And a woman who has managed to get elected and re-elected a couple of times by those sexist southerners.

Here is the truth: liberals cant fathom the possibility that their policies are failures and their candidates are unpopular because of those failures. It is much easier for the liberal mind to accept that the people are bad than it is for them to accept that it is their ideas that are bad.
