Perhaps because, by and large, Democrats lack the ability to make fun of themselves, they assume that Republiicans can't, either?

Taking a couple minutes to actually look into this, and it becomes clear that he is making fun of the perception so many liberals have of conservative republicans. The remarks are harmless. This is about as failed a thread as it is possible to get.

I'm not offended....just pointing out that it was an incredible stupid thing to say...especially if you have any aspirations of running for higher office. I question the judgement of these people more than the content of the statement.

There is a thought that how one jokes defines a person. I don't really adhere to it, but it isn't really about being offended alone.

I don't know if I'd go so far as to say "defines", but I do like the point that it can sort of describe. Self Depreciating humor, I think, is at least more honest, as well as less mean-spirited.

As if there was ever any doubt why the chichen**** Boehner kept these clowns locked up for the last three months not in session with an Akin gag order. Watch R. Priebus put a muzzle on all of them for four more days as they chomp on the bit to kick the barn down .
