Elizabeth Warren says she's been treated differently in the Senate but won't say how

Re: Elizabeth Warren says she's been treated differently in the Senate but won't say

Without names the claims are meaningless and can neither be proven or disproven. If she isn't going to name any names she is wasting her time and everyone elses. Oh and yes, without names it does appear to be nothing but a political ploy. Sorry, but this kind of crap has been pulled plenty of times before, so the little game has already been discovered.

She was asked a question and answered it.

I don't believe her only options are to lie, or go full scorched-earth on her Senate colleagues.

Re: Elizabeth Warren says she's been treated differently in the Senate but won't say

Right, because women have two options - scorched earth or keep their pretty little mouths shut.....:doh

Well sure, anyone can say anything they want without providing evidence. But they are due no more respect in their claim than this guy:

If she doesn't care to provide any names or any evidence of wrong doing she shouldn't go around making claims. Sorry, but if she refuses to provide evidence or any names of wrong doing then I'm going to consider it a political ploy and nothing more.

Re: Elizabeth Warren says she's been treated differently in the Senate but won't say

I provided two options. See the sentence directly following that starts out, "And if not,...."

She answered a question. And for some reason, you're convinced that the ONLY option she has to "do something about it" is to publicly name names and accuse her Senate colleagues of misdeeds, even if unprovable beyond a claim of 'she said/he said.' Based on my experiences, that's a stupid strategy unless your goal is to burn your bridges and go to work somewhere else.

She has already made a claim against the males in the Senate, so unless she wants to be seen as a liar she better get to naming exactly which males she has a problem with.

Well, that's a good point, because it's totally an extraordinary claim to make that the Senate retains some vestiges of the Good Old Boys Club that it's been for over 200 years, and that some Senators remain coddled, entitled, male chauvinists!! I mean, that's, like, totally hard to believe.

Warren is asked question. Responds in a way that should have everyone not living in an alternate universe saying, "no sh*t - and tonight some Senator will get drunk. What else is new." I'm missing what the problem is.

Right....when a woman claims harassment, especially in private conversations, she is supposed to provide evidence of it when relating her experience...because otherwise, even if she is a respected public official, she has no standing.

Re: Elizabeth Warren says she's been treated differently in the Senate but won't say

And this harms that effort. BO knew to play by the rules.
She is not nearly as clever as she thinks.

Liz Warren is playing the gender card and do I understand you to say that's not playing by the rules?
If so, then excuse me but ... is BO Barack Obama?
And is one of the rules not playing the race card?
And you're claiming BO, his campaigns, and his Party have played by that rule?

Or am I woefully misunderstanding you?

Well, that's certainly a reasonable position..... After all, when asked a question, a proper lady would either start naming names and going full on scorched earth with direct accusations and a list of wrongful acts, or keep her pretty little mouth shut.

So if a woman goes to a party and is raped by one guy do think it would be right of her to later say those men at the party raped me? Would that not be accusing all the men at the party of rape?

Well yeah, if you wants to make political hay from it then you need to actually provide details.

My guess is this is like the Gillibrand accusation where, in the end, it turned out that her claims were all tied to Democrats which is why she refused to say at first.

All kidding aside, you and other right wing partisans will see her as just as big a liar if she names names, so there's that....

Ya know what's funny?
You don't require anything other than the claim from Liz to satisfy you.
There's another thread that linked to O'Keefe produced videos of Dem operatives agreeing to, counseling, and encouraging voter fraud and you should see all the posters calling him a liar.

Without her going into exactly which men she is talking about the claim she made effects all the men in the senate and they are all seen as suspects of wrong doing. How is that right exactly?

Uh, Henrin, RAPE  is in another galaxy than what Warren agreed to, which is that the Senate remains a good old boys club in many ways, with some members throwbacks to the good old days of the 1950s when women were secretaries, and poured coffee for the men folk.

You all are trying hard to make this into a problem for Warren, and I'm amused at the efforts. So good job so far. :lamo

She may be like 1/64ths. ??

Man, I think my joke is failing. :doh

Wut? I don't get it. Was there a point to this?

Words from a Democrat's mouth=the truth
Words from a Conservative's mouth=a lie

You're obviously not up to speed on your partisanship.;)

Re: Elizabeth Warren says she's been treated differently in the Senate but won't say

Yes. Women should be able to claim to be victim without any evidence of being a victim because they are the victims.

They're ALL suspects? Hilarious. Poor men, always the victims... :violin:

I made my "point" in the previous post, which you ignored. That was sarcasm.

Addendum: Also, a woman should be able justify their "war on women" accusations against Republicans by recounting her demeaning, sexist treatment by fellow Congressman... without having to reveal that the demeaning, sexist treatment was by fellow Democrats..

I read the post you quoted to me. I didn't read your "previous post" which didn't show up as being directed to me.

Sarcasm? Okay, got it.

Maybe that is an extreme example, so lets try another. Lets say a female employee of mine claims she was sexually harassed by some of my male employee, but fails to tell me anything more than that. At that point every man that works for me is a suspect of wrong doing and all because she failed to give me names.
