Shooting at Canadian Parlament

Sadly I knew he was a goner with four bullet holes to the back if reports were true. Hard to survive that.

I only heard he took one to the belly or stomach.
Goes to show how innacurate reporting tends to be in these situations.

Has Obama blamed the terrorist attack in Ottawa on the Tea Party yet ?

I bet Canada will rethink their liberal immigration policies before America does. It might already be to late for America.

You make me feel ill. Really.

I don't understand how even people dying in a country Obama doesn't even preside over is somehow an invitation for more childish hackery to you.

I need a Tums. Ugh...

Any more news on this?

Just ignore him.

Yeah, I know. I don't take my own advice sometimes. It's hard.

So surreal looking at those pics. I was walking in the area just last weekend and I live about 2 kms from the incident.

Such a relief that in the midst of any tragedy, there will always be some yahoo ready, willing and able to warp the situation to fit their distorted political perspective.

......from all the pics I have seen around there. The place looks awesome. I have never been to Canada.....my brother was up in Montreal and Vancouver when he worked for Fed Express. He said the same thing about both places and said you would luv Canada in the Summertime.

Did you get the alert from the Police at 145pm? They have it up here too.

Canada has issued the statement that "its is not at all clear what it is". I see they don't want to face it head on.

Unlike the current President of the United States, our Canadian Prime Minister likes to get all the facts in from law enforcement and others before he starts opining on a situation. If this had been in Washington, I'm sure Obama would already be out telling the world that the dead terrorist could have been his son.

You say that like it's relevant. It's a large area with lots of obstacles and poor lines of sight and places to hide, same as any city.

And the police are using thermal vision. I think they are being played.

As for this incident I was a bit surprised that it was in Canada. Kind of expected it here in one of our many Gun Free Zones. Can't help but think if it happened here where I live it would be over quickly. CCW is common, as is open carry, but considering it is deer season there are more than the normal number of long guns in vehicles as well.

You're going to look like a real idiot if this was a jihadist terrorist attack.

And you know damn well if this were have happened in Washington DC this morning that Obama wouldn't be calling it a terrorist attack but blaming the Tea Party and the NRA. And you know it's true.

Wait, wait, wait. I have read all over this board that terrorism exists because the US has involved itself in the middle east.

What did Canada do to deserve this? I ask because many people think the US deserves terrorist attacks because of it's past actions.

Thoughts going out to our posters from canada. Hope they get to the bototm of this quick.

And this thread is sterling evidence to put forth the next time conservatives on this site start bitching about a liberal politicizing a shooting in the US into an immediete "gun control" argument. This kind of immediete politicizing non-sense knows no ideological boundry sadly.

This doesn't, on its face, have anything to do with immigration, liberal or otherwise. The "home grown" terrorist who used his car to kill a soldier earlier in the week here was a French Canadian, born in Quebec, radicalized via the internet.

For the most part, people who emigrate here are good people looking to get away from war torn areas of the world and places where crazies - religious and otherwise - are making life unbearable for people who just want to live in peace. When they come to Canada, they generally leave the strife and unrest behind.

Canada last week adopted motions to join the fight against ISIS/ISIL/IS and has sent aircraft and personnel to Iraq to join the coalition. ISIS/ISIL/IS, in video over the internet, threatened Canada if it joined and encouraged radicalized Canadians to behead, kill with cars, or otherwise murder people, particularly soldiers, on Canadian soil.

Thank you John, I didn't know that.

Now is there anybody that is against exterminating these people once and for all?

I hope they catch those responsible. I hope we find out why this was done.

I'm confident if the former, less so in the latter.

Chances are it was done by a muslim/s either a long time follower or a recent convert who either decided to attack on their own, or through pushing by supporters of ISIS

The person who ran over the soldiers in Quebec just a couple of days ago was a very recent convert (within one year it was stated). The guy in Quebec was of european ethnicity (ie looked to be of northern european heritage.

Unlike some in my country, I'm very proud that our government, opposed by the left, joined with the forces that are now combating IS forces in Iraq and Syria. This incident, and the one earlier in the week, may have been a direct result of that involvement but it is the right thing for us to do, not just for Canada but for the people in the middle east who are fighting against this scourge. I'm also very proud that throughout history Canadians have always done what was right, whatever the cost, and stood up to such challenges.

Them damn hyphenated-Canadians.

When will the French-Canadians adopt the English language and assimilate into just being Canadians ?
