Obama admin. to allow thousands of Haitians into U.S. without visas

>" The president’s continued push to circumvent Congressional authority and ignore the rule of law sets a bad precedent for the future.”<

>" The ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee took the Obama administration to task Friday for its “irresponsible” plan to allow as many as 100,000 Haitians to immigrate to the U.S. without a visa.

Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa said the administration’s Haitian Family Reunification Parole Program — which will allow thousands of Haitians awaiting a U.S. visa to enter the country and legally apply for work permits — is “an irresponsible overreach of the executive branch’s authority.”

“Which countries are next on President Obama’s list?” Mr. Grassley said. “Will there by medical screenings before entry? Will work permits be granted automatically? How will this affect American workers?”..."<

There must be more to that story.

DHS To Implement Haitian Family Reunification Parole Program | USCIS

WASHINGTON—Starting in early 2015, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will begin implementation of a Haitian Family Reunification Parole (HFRP) Program to expedite family reunification for certain eligible Haitian family members of U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents of the U.S. and to promote safe, legal and orderly migration from Haiti to the United States.

Under this program U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will offer certain eligible Haitian beneficiaries of already approved family-based immigrant visa petitions, who are currently in Haiti, an opportunity to come to the United States up to approximately two years before their immigrant visa priority dates become current.

It's called chain migration.

When people talk about rewarding illegal aliens with amnesty they don't talk about what comes with it. The new now legal immigrant gets to petition the government to legally have their brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, grand fathers, grand mother and cousins to jump ahead of the line and be issued immigration visas.

Have you ever wondered why those want to be Americans who play by the rules have to wait ten or twenty years for their immigration visas ? You have those relatives of former illegal aliens jumping ahead of the line.

Just so I can be clear about any further dialog on this subject, what is your level of appropriate immigration?

Then show proof

It seems to say that the immigration would be for eligible individuals which indicates legality.

False. it means people will be allowed without government approval that would give them a visa. this is more of Obama flooding theis country with loe education and low skilled workers

It's not legal if Obama is bypassing Congress again and is ignoring the "rule of law" and is wiping his butt again with the Constitution.

Only Congress has the authority of what America's immigration policies will be and it's the responsibility of the President to enforce those policies.

Another opinion.

Obama Quietly Begins Unilateral Immigration Reform:

>" President Obama Friday made a downpayment on the sweeping immigration “reform” he is expected to unilaterally declare once the elections are out of the way, permitting up to around 100,000 prospective Haitian immigrants to bypass immigration law and enter the country.

The move, a typical Friday announcement designed to attract minimum notice, eliminated wait times for future Florida Democratic voters Haitians who have been approved to gain green cards in two years, allowing them to make their way to the United States beginning in 2015 instead and begin working if they want.

Their entry has to have been petitioned by “family” members already in the United States.

There’s a gentleman near me who runs a flop house renting rooms out to immigrants, and the local authorities can’t do a thing about it because they’re all “family” and the burden of proof is on the state to show they’re not.

I’ll tell ya, that fellow has a large, changing, and even ethnically diverse family. Fortunately those living there now seem nice and even possibly related.

According to the New York Times, the new legalization has the same rationale that may be used as part of Obama’s expected mass legalization program:..."<

Not to disrespect, but I always took you as a "seal the border" kind of guy.

America's immigration policies should be what's best for America not what's best for the immigrant or one particular poilitical party.
