It is the beauty of American politics. Just like with sex scandals. One side of the aisle has a member involved in a sex scandal and if you wait a moment the other side will have one.

Don't know if it is really a hypocrisy or is it more like a football game with rival fans on other sides of the stadium. Your side coughs up the ball and the other fans whoop it up at your team's error. Then in a few minutes the other sides coughs up the ball and well you know the routine.

I don't particularly think this is some kind of big story either, but give me a break in terms of your reaction here. The faux surprise at the notion that people reacting to something a man was caught doing in the present by a man in his 40's is different compared to how people reacted to something an individual publicly admitting to something he had some decades before in his 20's.

This is the same thing I said when conservatives were acting like you with the faux outrage over Michael Jordan's not getting any sort of the same attention as Donald Sterling did in terms of "racism" bsaed on things he publicly admitted to happening years ago when he was much younger.

People are going to react differently to something that's admitted and that's caught.

People are going to react differently to something that is happening in the present day and something that happened in the past.

People are going to react differently to something done when a person was younger than when they were older.

These are just reality of things. Now on one hand you could say it should've been a bigger freak out as Bush was running for President/was President (though memory serves, there was plenty of freak out by those on the left). Now on the other hand, you could say it's a different story on Biden's side considering he was actually discharged from the military DUE to his cocaine use, adding an extra layer to it.

But stop with this ridiciulous act that somehow it's inconcievable that the Bush issue somehow didn't garner a similar or same styled attention when it was a markedly different circumstance (and of course, without any accusations or lobs to the side that DID ream Bush for it but remains mildly silent here)

It shows that the ones who want to keep drugs illegal are the ones out of touch with reality.

The tie was made that Hunter Biden's discharge would hurt Democrats in the election. Which I thought was ludicrous.

There are plenty of good reasons for Democrats to lose, but Hunter Biden isn't one of them.

I never said the GOP didn't do discuting things. I'm just not going to go all partisan and believe that the dems are always wearing halos. There was inappropriate stuff said about Bush's daughters, Palin's kids too. There is also that Jefferson guy hiding thousands of dollars in his freezer, countless governors of Illinois of both parties who can't do a term in office without then doing a term in prison. Here in new mexico its pretty blue here and the cronyism and especially nepotism is rampant.

Yes I think the GOP is worse but just because I don't hate at the same ferocity as you doesn't mean I love them.

When I was in college in the 1980s we used to get our cocaine from John Zaccaro and his friends, most of whom attended Middlebury College but some in other schools in the northeast. I met John at a party once when I was on a field trip with some friends to buy coke. Cute guy...we had some fun. He was sort of famous. His mother was Geraldine Ferraro. Had she won the election in 1984 with that dimwitted Walter Mondale, he would have been the first VP's son caught with his hand in that jar. Unfortunately for Hunter Biden, he owns that title.

By the way, cocaine was very common in the 1980s especially in the private liberal arts colleges of the northeast with a large population of children of privilege. No I don't use it anymore but back then it was everywhere.

Biden's children aren't children but middle aged adults.

If the libs can go after Palin's teen age daughters or Bush's teen age daughters why are full grown adults who are related to the second in line as POTUS off limits ?

Hunter Biden was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy, the oldest Ensign in the Navy at 44 years of age.

The only thing this reflects on is the young man who got booted, whatever you think about drug use, it aint cool in the military. This will virtually disqualify him from obtaining a ts clearance. Thats one of the questions on an sf86. Did u do dope while holding a security clearance?
