SECOND Dallas Hospital Worker Tests Positive for Ebola

The government refuses to use military aircraft to move people in and out of Africa. Can anyone explain why? No, no one can.
The government refuse to use the four or five hospitals that are there to deal with virus and chemical warfare, instead they transport the victims to a hospital in Dallas that has no expertise.
The government refuses to acknowledge transferal of the killer may be air born.
The government is using ticket takers to read temperature of incoming people from Africa. These are the same people videotaped sleeping at their stations and allow hundreds of drugs and handguns to go right by them.

Yep its all over. Might as well go out behind the woodshed and put a bullet in your head.

What state did the other Ebola patients go to? Looks like Texas needs to model that hospitals methods.

Because politically it was stated this would effect economies and the Global economy. But he has lied about US Hospitals being ready and that Nurses were. The Former CDC head Madi stated that only Big hospitals associated with Universities and research are able to handle the matter. Not some little private hospital.

IMO, taking precautions against a possible disaster isn't any more pessimistic or paranoid than wearing a seatbelt in case of an auto accident! When medical professionals don't know how to protect themselves against a virus like Ebola, what hope is there for the rest of us? Why are we not being told the whole story?

Obama is to blame as far as his oversight of the CDC administration is concerned. He also needs to watch what he says, and not overdo the "we have it under control" bull****. They have nothing under control, as is plainly obvious.

I love how you use Obama as a your whipping boy but make no mention of Perry that was making a big deal out of how ready and qualified Texas hospitals were who is a republican. Partisan much?

Hey where the **** is Perry anyway? Oh that's right he's having a great time in Europe.

It's worrying because it shows either there's something wrong with procedure, or the equipment they used, but it doesn't change how transmission occurred which is coming into direct contact with the bodily fluids of an infected individual.

This statement is self defeating. You can't logically say you don't know how they were infected and then claim to know how they were infected.

The fact is that Ebola is proving more virulent than was previously believed. The problem with an Ebola outbreak of this scale is that as an RNA virus Ebola mutates several times per host in response to the hosts immune defenses. The more infections the greater the chances that Ebola has to become more virulent. Ebola, until now, has remained contained and less virulent because of the lack of availability of hosts, lack of transport, and quick lethality. All this together ensured that the virus had limited chances to mutate.

Now that it has broken out into dense populations with access to rapid deployment all over the globe the rate of mutation has increased dramatically. I don't think there is much to fear about the strain of Ebola that Duncan brought to the US, but I do think their is reason to fear the strains of Ebola to come as the number of infected in Africa reach into the millions. As a society we are behaving no differently than either of those nurses who are now infected, relying on bad protocols and an poor understanding of the threat to keep us safe.

The other State used the experimental drug ZMapp on those two patients.

There is no more ZMAPP.

Just because something is said over and over again, doesn't make it true or correct.

Just because something's been explained to you ad nauseam doesn't mean you get it or even want to.

In other words " Guys, please stop being mean to Obama. He's trying his best, and it doesn't matter how many innocent Americans die, thats all that matters ".

" Well, that and a Democrat WIN, this November !!. Si Se Pueda everyone !! "

This is about Ebola with an 70% mortality rate. You think that's worth your partisanship. The CDC has ****ed up so far, and you know it.

Got it. Someone else makes it political by saying "Al Queda is on the run" and when I do it I'm called out on it.

Double standard don't you think?

And your response could apply to several other posters here including yourself.

LOL !!

Wow. Defend Obama and the Democrats at ALL cost, huh ?

" Nothing to see here folks, move along ".. ...

When this Nurses Boyfriend starts to show symptoms ( if he hasn't already ) are you going to manufacture some cockamamey story about him sneaking into Duncan's isolation ward and spooning with him ?

You are a great example of just how dangerous ideologues can be.

Take it up with American:

If Perry said something wrong then he needs to shutup too, but that does explain you deflections for Obama all over this website.

That's why he needs tax write offs silly.

He didn't help, he needs to send the money to the teams in Africa, silly. He said front lines.

No need to be nice to him. It comes with the territory. But you could at least make sense.

Deflections? How about responses to Obama accusations when it's the CDC that needs to be accountable. A CIC is at his best if he's not micromanaging.

I don't know what you have said on the matter. A temporary ban on people coming from the Ebola outbreak countries would only help contain the Ebola outbreak. For example if that one guy wasn't allowed to travel to Dallas, Texas, no one there would be infected. It doesn't keep the military and others from going there because they can do it in a very controlled way, as a opposed to someone coming from the Ebola hot zone by just traveling on a commercial airline, then freely mingling with the population here while potentially spreading Ebola.

These nurses came into direct contact with symptomatic person and their fluids who had Ebola, they got the disease exactly as we know how transmission occurs.

The question is at what point in time did the transmission occur and how... was it during the exercise, taking off the equipment, disposal of contaminated materials, that's what needs to be determined.

But I stress this, plenty of people suffering from Ebola have been repatriated, treated and other healthcare professionals have not contracted the virus, so we need to determine how this occurred and stop it from happening because nothing has changed in the way this virus transmits itself.

The media is throwing around wild and crazy theories out there about transmission changes, but I would remind you its the same media that once propogated the insane notion that the Hydron Super Collider could start a black hole.

What, you missed my condemnations of the CDC. It's all out there for you to read. Go to it!

Sure it is. :lamo

And don't forget to blame Obama while you're at it.

Greetings, Enigma001. :2wave:

Obama won't be blamed for Ebola, but he will be blamed for his inadequate response by continuing to allow possible carriers of the virus into this country - then only requesting they fill out a questionnaire and get their temperatures taken by airport personnel who are not medical personnel! Keep in mind that most hospitals are woefully unprepared for dealing with Ebola, and they are warning everyone of that fact! Too bad it's the nurses who are dealing with Ebola firsthand that are the scapegoats! Very unfair! I don't blame them for being angry about that!
