Soros to Host Fundraiser for ‘Independent’ Kansas Senate Candidate

Judaism 101: Who Is a Jew?

... This really is a stupid debate and your position is simply ridiculous. A Jew is somebody born to a Jewish mother. That's not me saying it, that is Jewish people, Rabbis and Jewish religious law saying so. However, before you enter the full circle of redundancy: Soros' ****ing mother was Jewish.

Now, whether he is an observant Jew is another matter entirely. As far as rabbis, average Jews and Jewish websites are concerned, George Soros is as much a Jew as Ariel Sharon.

Judism is a religion. End of discussion.

If I was from Louisana sure. But the thing is I dont live in Louisana.

Did the point elude you? You are trying to make something out of nothing via a generalization.

I am? What am I "generalizing"?

You're picking on one senator that you feel isn't representing Kansas well by living in DC. But he isn't alone, and the Post article blows a hole right through the NYT article.

As a Reform Party member the way I view this, not the Reform Party, but myself. Is a so called independent candidate accepting money from either the Democrats or Republicans, from either Soros or Koch is not an true independent. But an independent in name only to gain advantage he normally would not have running as a Republican or Democrat in whatever state.

The fact is once an independent candidate accepts money from either party, either big money donor that candidate owes the party or the donor who gave him the money. He, the independent candidate becomes a defacto party member.

Now Orman if he wants to remain a true independent will tell Soros thanks, but no thanks. But all is not lost to Orman in the money game if he wants to remain a true independent. Rumor has it that Harvard Prof. Lawrence Lessig’s Mayday PAC, which raises big money to spend big money on candidates who oppose big money in elections and is not affiliated with either party is going to step in to help Orman. It may be an oxymoron or seem like one where a super pac is formed with big money to fight big money in politics, but at least that pac is not affiliated with either party. Accepting help from that pac or having Prof. Lessig's Mayday Pac run a few ads on Orman's behalf leaves Orman in the status of a true independent not beholding to money or organization from the two major parties.

So I will wait and see, find out if Orman is a real independent candidate or just one hiding behind the name of independent when his loyalties will be bought by Soros and the Democrats.

Because he is my representative. That is not "generalizing" at all. He is my representative in the Senate. Nowhere did I state "Senator Roberts is the only one".

Are you really being this ridiculous? Nobody has stated that Judaism is not a religion. However, within the laws of Judaism a Jew is someone born to a Jewish mother. They don't have to necessarily believe (non observant) to be considered Jews. Are you seriously trying to attack what is and isn't a Jew when Jewish people are telling you what is and isn't a Jew?
