Secret Service Director Julia Pierson Resigns After Breaches

1) Obama was never shot

And your point is...what?

Guys who shouldn't have been near the President got near the President (the guy in Atlanta and the crazy sign language guy) and a guy w/a knife made it into the White House East Room.

Yes, anything consistent w/a free country is generally seen as radical by the right wing and their Nazi mentality.

The majority of the American people are not Nazis, just because we think your ideas are beyond idiotic.

P. S. perhaps you can make a video for us using your gun to show us all how the SS should've reacted to the intrusion.

I don't own any firearms.

Perhaps you would like to storm the gates like a good anti-government revolutionary.

My goodness.........does the Secret Service have no weight/conditioning rules. This incompetent overweight hog was appointed to oversee an elite force of officers........geeez........I guess she will be replaced by another affirmative action hire. Then the Obama admin can say they appointed the first female and first black to head the Secret Service. I'm sure, by resigning, she gets to keep her $150,000 per year pension for life.

That's grossly inadequate for a serious security job. Decent security personnel should expect to take nothing less than $2 million/yr.

But the US is supposed to be a free country, where the people are ideally in charge, and hence, we don't want super gung-ho security guards at the WH.

I don't understand why there are not two Marine guards posted at the entrance to the White House 24/7

I never said anything about the majority of Americans. I was talking about conservatives, who (as everyone knows) prefer a govt. guarded by armed agents that shoot anyone that crosses their paths.

NO because as a responsible individual in (what's supposed to be) a free country, I would never abuse the freedom to do so.

A mature, responsible democracy doesn't need Nazi-like guards to protect the regime from its people.

People should not have to fear their governments; government should have to be afraid of the people instead.

Go back to school and learn about democracies. Then get back to us.

Probably was the right move to save face on her part, as I'm sure she wouldn't have lasted long otherwise

If there was no evidence he had any intention of hurting anyone, what difference does it make if he had a knife or gun? Explain.

It doesn't make any difference. If they abuse their authority, they should be kicked out.

Then what is it?

Come on Dem, just look at every appointee of the Obama administration.

Google "Julie Pierson, affirmative action."

Every executive branch of the Obama administration has been politicized.

With Obama it's all about politics, his politics. Be it from national security to what your children eat for lunch.

The majority of the American people want their President safe. The majority of the American people have no problems with existing Secret Service protocols. The fact that there was such bi-partisan unity on their concerns of these incidents means you are squarely against your representatives and the public, yet again.

A mature, responsible democracy doesn't need Nazi-like guards to protect the regime from its people.

These guards pre-existed the Nazi's, sorry. Your anti-government anxieties, notwithstanding, the Secret Service upholds the regime for the good of the people.

People should not have to fear their governments; government should have to be afraid of the people instead.

The public shouldn't have to fear their republic being torn to shreds by the actions of dangerous individuals or groups.

Go back to school and learn about democracies. Then get back to us.

On the contrary, it is your education that is lacking.

The majority of the American people want their President safe.

Freedom-loving individuals would never accept a regime that prioritizes extreme security over freedom (including the right of access) when the two are in conflict, and especially when results do not prove it necessary. No Pres has been hurt by anyone on the outside in over 30 years.

I realize that such a concept is beyond your grasp, so go back to school and get back to us.

Good gosh, are we doing anything right anymore?

What a cluster**** this nation is becoming.

Then your government and the people do not agree with you. We have made our decision. Democracy in action. Leave if you do not like it.

The majority of the American people want their President safe.

Then the majority of people are getting what they want, right, seeing how O hasn't yet been harmed by any of the WH intruders?

Hello?!

The majority of the American people have no problems with existing Secret Service protocols. The fact that there was such bi-partisan unity on their concerns of these incidents means you are squarely against your representatives and the public, yet again.

No, I have a problem w/these idiot reps who too easily trade basic freedoms for security, and the brain-dead idiots who keep electing them.

These guards pre-existed the Nazi's, sorry.

And you want them to be just like the Nazis.

Your anti-government anxieties, notwithstanding,

Freedom-loving individuals are always rightfully suspicious of their regimes. Like I said, when you go back to school, you'll understand this concept.

the Secret Service upholds the regime for the good of the people.

And it appears based on the results that they're doing that job  .

Then your government and the people do not agree with you. We have made our decision.

Um, who the hell is "we" ? Speak for yourself--the people don't want Nazis in charge.

Someone mentioned that the first SS agent to come in contact with the intruder was a woman.

That she was basically drug through the White House by a much stronger and crazier Full Grown Man.
I have been wondering about this agent who got steamrollered at the front door.

There are some jobs that women are just not suited for, including that category of job where a man might need to be physically restrained one-on-one.

Many years ago I read of a dangerous, violent criminal who overpowered his one guard, a women, and was at large for some time. I think it happened in Atlanta- maybe a member from there can tell us more.

I agree.

If equality is what they truely want, then they should have to meet the same standards of any male agent that came before them.

And that goes for Police officers and Firefighters.

I don't understand why there are not two Marine guards posted at the entrance to the White House 24/7
Seconded.

And scatter a few more teams of two throughout the WH grounds.

And make them a permanent fixture and addition to the secret service, even after the secret service gets its desperately needed overhaul.

Perhaps not incompetence, but it certainly exposes that Obama makes serious policy decisions based on whichever way the wind is blowing at any given time.

All federal pols do that.

Yes, they did.

They did not; if they did, O would either be dead or in a hospital now. The results speak for themselves.

The result doesn't justify lack of doing their job.

WRONG. The results are the only relevant performance metric when they're exemplary.

And the results are exemplary, since the SS has kept all Presidents perfectly safe in the last 30 years.

No sensible employer questions the actions of an employee that delivers perfect results consistently. To do otherwise amounts to unnecessary micromanagement.

Bush 2 famously didn't do that on at least a couple of occasions.

He had no choice after invading Iraq. To leave prematurely would be an admission of incompetence, which would also have been politically unpopular.

So bush was backed into a corner--damned if he did and damned if he didn't.
