Eric Holder To Step Down As Attorney General

Have you ever read a civics textbook?

The president "picks" no one, this is not a game of pick up b-ball. According to the constitution Congress is there to "advise and consent" to nominations suggested by the president. There is no provision, as you seem to suggest, that congress is in any way obliged to do what is demanded by the president, and history shows the reverse...many nominations get turfed by congress because they didn't like the nominee.

Obama and his followers would like to think he has the powers of Stalin, but the truth is he and them only show their ignorance of the basics of governance.

This might be one reason Holder is stepping down now, once they lose a confirmation will be harder for them.

will congress actually try to do any advising or suggest likely candidates for attorney general?

Liberals disdain our nation, they probably see it as an insult.

Sarah Palin would consider you a "Real American" We know everyone who isn't conservative is a fake American. How proud you must be to have her respect.

IF...they can ram it through before a new congress comes in, yeah, it's an excellent strategy. But what happens when congress starts nibbling away at the guy's credentials? Reid can't invoke the nuclear option without triggering a massive response and coming on the heals of an election.....

Let's put it this way, if the American people accept that then they deserve everything that stems from it.

Ok, so let's assume that, for the sake of debate, he is actually out of the office in 6 weeks.

Does he then get prosecuted for his violations of the LAW?

-

I hope so. Issa is probably salivating over the idea of putting Holder in jail now that he won't have the protection of Obama.

Nah....just your government. We kind of like the people, gave them housing when the air space was shut down....

OH!

You mean American liberals........

Got it. They sure don't like the way it is now and seem hell bent on making everything worse

You are correct. Im looking forward to the antics this lame duck session.

The Washington Times is a right-wing propaganda rag.

The President appoints the AG. Always has, in addition to any other Cabinet post.

Besides which, I really don't think Boehner wants the headache of getting his nominee through the Senate with an election in 6 weeks.

The President has all kinds of duties which might fall into a "Conflict of Interest" in which he might have to recuse himself, at any time.

Just like the Supreme Court Justices, and Mayors, and Governors...

President Obama has a Clear Conflict of Interest with the appointment of the next A.G., and if it won't Voluntarily Recuse himself, then Congress should impeach him for his lack of carrying out his Oath of Office and Presidential Duties in compliance with LAW.

In the example given above, of G.W. Bush, and an Oil Company under investigation, where Dubya has a large fiscal interest, nobody would even question it.

President Obama is clearly compromised in the selection of the Next A.G., he should bow out.

Oh no.....I think I know what that will look like, what Prime Minister John Turner publicly called "bull**** theater."

The Democrats will be looking at not being the big game, and try to get even ahead of time, I suspect Reid is dying to use the nuclear option. It will be delay and debate and false issues in the Senate while the House tries to score points. Nothing will get done.

I look forward to the new session. Nothing will get done there either, but revenge is fun to watch. I can write the clip of Reid when they use the nuclear option. Oh yeah, that will make great copy.

the senate only needs 51 votes to confirm a nominee due to a change to the fillibuster rules last year.

rumours on the hill speculate that a possible caniddate is an attorney from Seattle named Jenny Durkan.

She's the US Attorney from Washington I think. There was some recent news about her and police officers filing some suit or something.

I will pop popcorn for that.
