Eric Holder To Step Down As Attorney General

While what you say about his past may be true, nobody forced Holder to call the country a bunch of cowards nor did anybody force him to do what he has done during this administration.

Holder must take responsibility for his own actions.

no argument there. few people knew anything about holder prior to the Obamanation

I did-I was a DOJ attorney hired by Bush I so I know a lot about him

Like his boss, a guy who ascended past his level of incompetence. Holder worked for main justice for years. He was a solid DOJ attorney
with the public integrity section starting right before Carter became president. Reagan appointed him a judge in DC where he did a fine job.

Clinton made him a US Attorney for DC. he had a good reputation among other US attorney offices then. In 1997 he was elevated to a deputy AG position-once again, he had a good reputation as a straight shooter.

at the end of the clinton administration, he got caught in the mess of clinton's pardon of Marc Rich

He served briefly as acting AG under Bush-again no issues

in private practice during the Bush administration, he was at prestigious law firm Covington and Burling. He wrote or signed an amicus brief supporting the DC Gun ban-the first evidence of a real political agenda.

Under Obama as AG, his reputation for being a non partisan career attorney came to a crashing halt. most of us who knew him when he worked under Clinton were sort of surprised.

I would note, while I have no use for the Obama administration, Holder served the USA very well for many years and that should be taken into account rather than damning him for being part of an incompetent and perhaps corrupt administration

wolf in sheep"s clothing... He's terrible now. I"d tend think he was neutered during those other administration and had to have made it known he had a big chip in his radical shoulder and was ready to take off his mask..any vetting of him shows hes radical race grievance driven far left advocate

the poster that made the comment thinks that todays "liberal Democrat loons that are 90% of the democrat party today" are the Kennedy Democrats of yersteryear..the decent democrats are already gone and joined the GOP ages ago.. and I know many of them

I love when libs play that canard.. its priceless nonsense..

where is Zel Miller?.. the last decent demo

LOL, it was the other way around.

The conservative Democrats all left the party after the civil rights act was passed. And after some pandering by Nixon and then later Reagan, they became Republicans.

The fact that the conservatives left the Democratic party years ago is honestly the best thing to ever happen to the Democrats. Those idiots are the GOP's problem now, and are destroying the party.

next AG:

wild Bill Clinton

except for his license to practice law being pulled
would have been a fun ride tho. lots o' payback

so, here are the probably replacement candidates:
Report: Former U.S. Attorney in Seattle Jenny Durkan a possible choice to replace Holder | Q13 FOX News

Michell will 86 kamala harris' prospects ... she will want her to remain as far away as possible on the left coast and not in DC

heaven help us if that idiot - yes idiot - jeh johnson of homeland security is nominated (guess i won't be riding any more passenger airplanes after that comment; hello no-fly list)

Obama expects to make one more SC nomination before his term is up. could he be getting ready to nominate holder. almost as bad as clarence thomas. almost

or is the white house now aware of something which will make the Obama administration very vulnerable over the next few months. while i won't rule it out, apparently, Obama has tried to persuade holder to stay on the job and that does not square with the need to discard holder to avoid embarrassment to the administration

Carter Stewart. US Attorney for the Southern District Of Ohio. A Harvard Law grad, he was in AG Holder's advisory committee. good reputation-not a partisan.

he was a trial attorney for one US Attorney's office, has been a US attorney for most of Obama's term in office=plenty of experience. being a US attorney is probably the best experience for the job since a US Attorney's office is a miniature version of the DOJ--

you have civil cases, you have criminal cases, you have to interact with federal and state LE agencies as well as various public interest groups

plus the guy is articulate, gives good interviews and is a straight shooter and honest

As long as he isn't involved in Government anymore.....then it is a very good thing for this country. Indeed, a very good thing.

I follow a very large number of forums, and in some, I'm very quiet, unassuming liberal who almost never posts.

The word among Liberal circles, where they feel free to talk among themselves...

Holder is quitting the DOJ, to make himself free from legal/conflict obligations, so that when a particular fatally ill SCOTUS Justice dies, Holder will be nominated to be the replacement.

Think Obama will replace him with someone just as radical?

You don't have to respond, its a rhetorical question.

The only radicals around right now in the USA are those on the far right.

who is the terminal scotus justice?

who is the terminal scotus justice?

Even IF I knew, I would not say.

Such information is private and personal medical information, that while others may divulge without the patients knowledge or consent, I would not, ever.

I first heard Eric Holder's name when Elian Gonzalez was seized at gunpoint and without a court order because, Holder said, INS didn't need one.

I think most adults who were keeping up with the news knew exactly who Holder was long before they'd heard of Barak Obama.

Might be sometime for the possibility to even exist.....which doesn't take into consideration those who will do what they can to make sure Holder and BO after pasture. Are nothing more than tumbleweeds blowing in the wind.

But the timing is completely in the control of the Democrats. Holder won't step down until his replacement is approved, so... they stall, or make unacceptable nominees, until the time is right, then rush it though, and Eric Holder is free to step right into the Justice slot. No one objects at the sudden events, it was all disclosed and in process from back in Sept. 2014...

How about looking up his record. Whomever the Pres nominates to replace him, do you think repubs will agree? It will bf interesting to see.

Not if Obama nominates another political activist. If he nominates someone who has a history of strictly enforcing the law......not problem.

I guess Reagan had to have a darky on stand-by to fill that racial quota for the GOP....you know, just in case the Clarence Thomas nomination fell through. ;)

Not only is your statement racist.......it is ignorant. Clarence Thomas was nominated by George HW Bush in 1991.

Would be better if he were headed to prison.

Nah.....I don't want to take care of him.

Mornin' OF. :2wave: Although.....if it is a life Sentence. I have advocated for Death Row Inmates and Lifers to be given Amnesty by sending them to the ME. To go out and do what they do.....the only condition. Kill Terrorists.....Survive. Win the Amnesty and live out the rest of their days.....over there. Keep that Hood in check.

The Repubs Leadership already have told Reid to keep it for next year.....which they didn't need to do. Since Reid wouldn't put anything forth before the election. After the Repubs take the Senate. There is no Chance BO will get thru someone he wants.
