Powerful Explosion Rocks Kabul

Targeted a military convoy. Suicide car bombing. Taliban claims responsibility.

Is it bad when I saw this, I just shrugged? Terrorist attack in Kabul Afghanistan, how is this big news?

More interesting was the article right beneath that: Persuading would-be jihadists that ISIS distorts Islam “probably far more important than the military,” the U.S. Secretary of State says

It would have been big news if you had posted it before me.

Or if he had been in the convoy and burned alive. But hey it's of no concern to him.

The "war on terror" as defined and started by Bush, CANNOT be won.

The War on Terror was not defined by Bush. It was defined by the Neocons who conned him into this mess. Bush did kick the Neocons to the curb before he left office, but by then, it was too late.

Oh thank gawd George W. Bush is off the hook. I won't however disagree with you about PNAC's influence on him.

Yeah, let's do nothing. That should work great.

I've never advocated for that. There's plenty of ways that the militant Islamic groups could have been contained. US foreign policy hasn't been interested in prevention and containment.

Such as? We did this by the way in the 1990's if you recall, when we'd just lob a few cruise missiles in retaliation for any number of terrorist attacks. We ignored the problem for years and look where that got us...

Right winger knuckle draggers are always so scared.

Wouldn't you be of another, possibly nuclear, 9/11?

Don't you know how to live in peace like the 250 other nations?

We tried that in the 1990's and look where that got us. Also, if you are truly from Singapore, it's easy to say all this when your one of the few countries that haven't come under attack from Radical Islam.

Doing nothing comes with an even bigger price.

And yet, whenever we do anything, we only make the problem worse. Can you tell me one instance where us doing anything has made a damned bit of difference?

When you play military policeman to the rest of the world you get the same scenario as Ferguson.

And when you do nothing you get 9/11... Also, I wouldn't be saying a whole lot when Singapore has JI.

We nipped the problem in the bud instead of waiting for WTC to come down.

I'm confused. Does Singapore have a WTC? And you guys did only wait until after Jakarata and Bali to make your move.

American interests are prime targets here and we don't wait like what you did for WTC to come down.

No you waited until JI had killed over 200 in the Bali Bombing and 11 in Jakarta. Just because they decided to go after someone first, doesn't excuse the fact that you waited for them to commit attacks before you decided to do something about it. And by the way, neither of those attacks were American interest; one was Indonesia and the other Australia. Radical Islam isn't just an American problem sadly, it make thing so much simpler and easier if it were...
