Girl, 11, told by school not to wear 9/11 T-shirt

People on the right are not into political correctness my left wing friend........we cherish 9/11tshirts.

Not even your fellow right wingers support you on this one, Navy. DRESS CODE! What is it that you don't understand about dress codes and school uniforms?

Because this school has a dress code and uniforms changes the issue. If there were not dress code or uniforms and the school didn't allow her to wear the t-shirt - yes that would generate some outrage. Since that is NOT the case, it's up to the parent to work with the school - the school shows they do not want to make exceptions. Were this my kid, I'd simply say that if 9/11 were that important to me, my kid would be staying home every 9/11 in the future and she could wear the t-shirt anywhere she or I want on that day.

The school has a dress code with exceptions only on designated days. The rules are content neutral (as far as we can tell from the article). This is what happens when school districts implement uniforms/dress codes. No first amendment issue here.

The left and political correcctness going a muck. When will it end???

Girl, 11, told by school not to wear 9/11 T-shirt | Fox News

Published September 14, 2014

The stepdaughter of a U.S. veteran was told last week that she was not allowed to wear to school a T-shirt to honor the men and women who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

The kid, like all the other kids, has to wear a uniform to school, so she was in violation of the dress code.

More con nonsense from Fix News

Not allowing her to violate the schools uniform dress code is not political correctness.

Allowing her to ignore school policies in order not to offend people who feel like 9/11 remembrance should trump that this school uses a uniform would be political correctness.

It will never end. First because PC is smart and dumbasses will not win. Second because violating dress code for a "special t-shirt" is unbelievably ****ing stupid.

You clearly haven't the slightest clue what PC means. For you, PC is a boogie-man. Get something better to blame BS on.

School uniforms are not politically correct NP. Why do you think you should be able to dictate what a school in another district has for a dress code, one that could very well be private(school uniforms are much more common at private schools and the school itself is not identified)?

I know your a lefty and believe every word someone on the left says is gospel but even you can't defend this.

Yes, I will forget the Holocaust because you post stupid BS about how dress codes should have an exemption for a t-shirt you like. ****ing spare me.

This is chain email level BS.

Wait, are you saying your own source is not accurate? In that case, how can you believe it?

Are t-shirts how you remember events? Do you wear t-shirts to remind you to go to the bathroom every day? Do you have briefs that remind you when bingo night goes down? What about your socks. Do you have socks to remind you whether it's Monday or Tuesday? I'm just trying to understand the connection between remembering and honoring the deaths of people and wardrobe. I mean, I remember to have breakfast every day. Do you need clothing to remind you of historical events?

Faux outrage is the best.

Seems like stories like get your blood all ginned up. Take some pills, you are all "angried" up.

You can't write comedy this funny.

Yet your posting never discusses the way we were lied into Iraq-2 and killed 4,500 of our soldiers and over 100,000 Iraqi civilians.
Only Benghazi.
Nor do you express outrage at tens of thousands of Wounded Warriors and what they and their families are going through to this day.
Not to mention an overloaded VA not planned for by Rumsfeld/Cheney.
And what about the 22 suicides a day Navy ?

and to bring up 6 million Jews is something I never thought I would see from you . :(

For real? Take us down that slippery slope that leads us from a school being unwilling to bend on its dress code to the Holocaust.

T-shirts cost by the letter.

Wait...there are holocaust T-Shirts for 9 year old girls?

When I was a kid, all we had were Battaan Death March T-Shirts.

Equating 9/11 with the Holocaust is kinda disgusting.

Seriously...you can get an Armenian genocide T shirt....

Dude, she goes to a school with a dress code uniform!

The school does not have to oblige. I work at a school with a uniform and there are no exceptions and it has NOTHING to do with the Left.

1: School uniforms, which the t-shirt isn't. Makes this a nonissue.
2: Her stepdad being a veteran has jack and **** to do with anything. Why did you bring it up.
3: Phony outrage is phony. Try and be real.

If they have a dress code? I totally side with the school.

I am curious what you all thought about the MLB hat deal that happened after 9/11, were you all siding with MLB on that as well?
