Having been to Cuba many times, I have always wondered why?
What threat from this tiny little island of friendly Caribbeans could be so great American must inflict so much damage on her?
Cuba and Canada share a great feat in history, being two nations that have repelled American invasions, Canada twice. The US maintains a naval base there, against the wishes of the government, which seems like bullying to me. BTW, the base looks ****ing ridiculous from the land side, so much security makes it look like their afraid.
But what is it that America clings to in this new world order? This new age where she trades even with "Red China", Vietnam is now a friendly touristy destination, Russia and America share space missions, but little Cuba with beautiful tropics and sunsets to die for, is held with contempt to the point the US denies them medications and hospital supplies, refuses to buy her sugar, preferring instead to subsidize your local producers.
It makes no sense to me, nor the fact I get seriously screwed over trying to visit the US because I have Cuban stamps in my passport..."What they hell does any red blooded Canadian do on a tropical island officer? Try to get laid! The tan is automatic. Or do you think "commie" is contagious?"
Oh...and another thing? Their auto mechanics are the best in the world. They have 1940's cars running better than some of the new ones and they can't import parts for them, they have to make them.
