....until after the election.

Expect the last two years of this guys' tenure to be the bitterest :( No Clinton capable of reaching across the aisle, he.

Abandoning his pledge to act by the end of summer, President Barack Obama has decided to delay any executive action on immigration until after the November congressional elections, White House officials said.

The move instantly infuriated immigration advocates while offering relief to some vulnerable Democrats in tough Senate re-election contests.

Two White House officials said Obama concluded that circumventing Congress through executive actions on immigration during the campaign would politicize the issue and hurt future efforts to pass a broad overhaul....

Wait. And they think that won't happen after the elections?

Those two "bitterest" years will be the ticket to Democratic landslides in 2016. The absolute best thing that can happen to Obama and the Congress is for the GOP to take the Senate this year and then go absolutely bonkers with every crackpot extremist right wing wet dream being enacted into passed bills that Obama can stand proudly before the nation and loudly VETO proclaiming himself as the last line of rational defense against dangerous extremists.

You could not ask for a better formula for Democratic success in 2016.

So how do you feel about your fellow republican congress critters passing the buck? This is congress's job and they continue to pass the buck.

I wish I could tag this so it can easily be brought back out to view in November of 2016. I have a feeling it might result in absolute hilarity all around.

Please do. Of course my prediction centers around one key and all important variable: that Obama will grow a pair and turn into the battling, scrapping, fighting defender of the people..... something that he has been rather reluctant to do during the first 5.7 years of his presidency.

The key to your prediction coming true might be a different variable. That is that he holds the line on what a broad majority deem crucial. If he continues to play the war on (pick your interest group) he will continue to be seen as just another cheap pol.

After two terms of Bush, I had felt that dems would control the WH for a generation. Then we get Obama, and it all pissed away.

Haha

Who's the party of 'no' now?

Either way the election goes, it will result in hilarity.

What, "wet dreams", are you referring to?

Defender of the people? Ha! That's a hoot!

What buck?

Defender of the people? Ha! That's a hoot!

Of course. When someone on the left blocks something they are a "defender of the people", whereas one on the right who blocks something is an obstructionist. Do try to keep up;)

Haha

I dearly hope it will be the Democrats who have learned the lesson well and shove back deep and hard and twice as rough.

Payback can be a bitch. Its going to come around for the GOP who wrote the book on saying NO.

I just hope the Dems and Obama have the cojones to do it and not flinch.

What, "wet dreams", are you referring to?

getting rid of the IRS for one.

getting rid of the progressive income tax for another.

making this nation even more gun centric then it is now.

repealing the various civil rights laws from the 1960's would fit the bill.

smashing the unions and making the whole damn country right to work cheaper if they can find a way to do that - probably getting rid of the NLRB.

getting rid of choice for women.

thats just for a start.

You complained when the Rs did it and now you're cheerleading for the Ds to do it? That's mightily dishonest.

Are you referring to the immigration bill passed by the House that is sitting in Reid's drawer or the immigration bill passed by the Senate sitting in Boehner's drawer?

Aww, whats the matter Barry? Your allies running from you faster than Nixon's? So much so that Democracts attack you in their campaign ads? So you're waiting to do what you believe in because if not you know your actions will give the GOP all they need to take more Senate seats?

Forestalling what you think is right for the sake of politics reflects a complete lack of integrity. Of course the likes of Haymarket supports such a move.

The House immigration bill sitting in Reid's drawer is a securing the borders bill while the Senate's bill sitting in Boehner's drawer is a blanket amnesty for all illegal aliens including convicted felons with only talk of securing the border years after the amnesty.

When you start it and it comes back to bend you over the table - you got what you deserved. that is both righteous and honest.

Let's drop the republican perspective, and your speaking for them, and just look at this from your position.

You're lowering yourself to the level of actions you condemned. You're demonstrating that your position has no morals or ethics. You're showing that hypocrisy is merely part of your game plan. I have rarely seen such a display of flagrant dishonesty.

What I am doing is giving back what given to us. That is not hypocrisy - it is righteous and just. get this straight - I am not a pacifist who believes in turning the other cheek. I believe in returning the favor.... and then some.

It was the GOP who from day one set out for Obama to fail and they played their cards accordingly. I only hope they bleed buckets when its their turn bent over the table.

All you are trying to do is take a pot shot at me and this is a cheap and silly way to do so.

Call it what you want. Your position is founded in hypocrisy (doing what you complained about) and dishonesty (previously complaining about something you actually support).

Do you know who Charles Durning is? He is a movie star that sang a song in the movie "Best little whorehouse in Texas" called "I love to do the little sidestep." You may want to look it up and watch the video. It, too, is hilarious.

Not at all. I believe in treating as you are treated. that is not hypocrisy. that is direct, in your face, get ready to get hurt and hurt bad because that is what you did when you were on top. There is nothing at all hypocritical about that.

I have absolutely no idea what you think that has to do with my comments. Perhaps you can explain it?

as for Durning - I thought he was quite good in THE STING. He certainly worked for a very long time giving him a lengthy career.
