Top CIA officer in Benghazi delayed response to terrorist attack [W:222]

Re: Top CIA officer in Benghazi delayed response to terrorist attack US security team

Clearly you never actually watched that conversation. Do so, then try to talk about it.

Oh no, I saw her, after they finally got her to come in. Nice of her, wasn't it? People died, but she was in no hurry to come in and give some answers. Then she tried to turn the tables, and made a jerk of herself. I hope they play this clip everyday if she runs for president, no one should forget what she is about. That's my opinion, if you don't like it, that's tough.:peace

So, again, as I stated in my edited post, there was no official stand-down order given from officials at the White House, the State Department, CIA HQ or DoD. The only person who prevented the 3 CIA operatives from engaging the enemy was their immediate supervisor on-site on the ground calling the shots as he saw them unfolding on the scene. To suggest that his order was an "official" directive given as if it were directly from the CIA, State Department, DoD or the White House is very disingenuous.

So, I guess there was a stand down order. Did congress talk to these guys? Was the order justified? This new evidence appears to contradict the left wing talking points.

OK that's it!

This is "old news", "there is nothing there", "the president learned about it on TV", "this will all blow away", "it was a spontaneous demonstration".....don't you get the picture?

An ambassador in the service to the country he loved was assassinated by terrorists for the first time in 30 years. So what? The president has an FBI investigation under way, and as soon as they find Libya, these "criminals" will see the long arm of US justice Obama style.

So please, enough of the tired old talking points. The president has a lot on his mind. A for profit private sector journalist has been beheaded in Iraq and that needs all his attention right now, he has to plan a raid/invasion as soon as he figures out a plan. But know this, "terrorists" will feel the enormity of American might over this beheading. So catching the spontaneous demonstrators in Libya is going to have to take a back seat to the constant extreme right agenda to thwart the president.

Now back to reality, damn I hate these acid flash backs.

You didn't think there was just 3 CIA operatives on duty at the time.....now did ya OV? Did you forget BO's own statements about the Chatter?

You'll have to refresh my memory on that. (Re: Chatter). Regardless, 3 or 4 CIA operatives on the ground as indicated in the FoxNews piece and one on-scene high ranking official who made an on-scene judgment call not to engage the enemy does not constitute an official directive coming from CIA HQ, the State Department, DoD nor the White House to stand-down. That's all I'm trying to get across to you folks.

I'd imagine that the on-scene supervisor is no different than a squad leader or platoon commander calling the shoots during combat prior to calling HQ for an air strike. I see no difference here. Nonetheless, I can agree there was a stand-down order given. However, it didn't come from the top brass which is what Rep. Issa and Co. (Republicans) have been clamoring for as the smoking gun of ineptitude from the Obama Administration since 9/11/12.

You need to re-read it and then re-read what I had up. Again.....when did this knowledge come out before? When did any have an idea about any CIA on the ground talking to anyone? Answer.....None. Otherwise the left would have been harpin about it for days and trying to play off that. Would have shown up in all our Benghazi threads.

Can you explain why it never did?

Oh and you didn't forget that bit about Ansar al Sharia on purpose again, did you?.....since most didn't know that the State Dept hired them as security for Benghazi. Or did you want to say they did?

I'm not nick picking, wait a sec, I am. The three you refer to as CIA operatives were not CIA operatives but CIA private contractors. This is why they are able to talk while CIA operatives, annalist, officers, etc. can't freely talk.

Go back and watch the Fox News video. The CIA security contractors were ordered and were just about to respond to the terrorist attack on the counsulate. The Chief CIA officer in Benghazi was on the phone speaking to someone, the CIA security contractors don't know who was on the other end of the phone but when the chief CIA officer got off the phone he told the CIA security contractors to stand down, the order has been belayed.

A logical guess who was on the other end of the phone was the one who ordered the stand down.

Any other Presidential administration it would be easy to figure out who was on the other end of the phone because every POTUS before Obama followed the chain of command. The Obama administration ignores the Constitution and the chain of command that Congress created which is law.

Well like I have stated.....none knew about any CIA on the ground saying much of anything. Also you do know there were more than just 3 CIA operatives on the ground, Right?

A few were injured.....and that's another reason why Gowdy is taking depositions.

Also one very important point with it all.....was that Hillary never checked back on her people to see if they made it out alive. She never talked to anyone after Hicks. Yet she was never questioned over this? So you can see how this can play out with protocol for the Team BO.

Oh yeah.....the Chatter. That's what BO said they were listening to.

What did you know JB? Not much of anything other than taking up the lefts talking points. Just like you still can't fathom, figure out, nor understand and comprehend about the CIA not talking or testifying in the open. Can you figure out why now? Or who has been talking.

Still no answer about Ansar al Sharia......huh JB? What happened? There was some New Info that you had no clue about with Benghazi and with them as Security.

Re: Top CIA officer in Benghazi delayed response to terrorist attack US security team

I heard Clinton's testimony. Was right there on the other side of the screen when she asked in exasperation what difference it made. Have said ever since, including on this board, that I fervently hope that if she runs for President, her opponents run that sound byte continuously.

You watched. Don't look it up. Tell me, in your own words, what "it" was referring to.

Re: Top CIA officer in Benghazi delayed response to terrorist attack US security team

You watched. Don't look it up. Tell me, in your own words, what "it" was referring to.

"It" was referring to the circumstances that occasioned the death of the four Americans. Whether they died because of a protest or because a bunch of guys just upped and decided to kill Americans, what difference did it/this make?

And the circumstances DO matter. Because the Obama Admin deliberately and willfully dissembled. They trotted out Susan Rice on all five Sunday shows to repeat what they knew was a lie. Why did they lie? Do you know why?

Let's put this "breaking news" into perspective...

U.S. security team = 3 CIA operatives at the CIA annex building in Benghazi.

Unless those guys had shoulder held rocket launchers, I doubt they would've make a difference against the mob that attacked the U.S. Embassy or the compound in Benghazi. Nonetheless, I know that this "revelation" comes as a feather in the cap of those who are clinging to something substantial to hang around the President's neck concerning Benghazi, but this, IMHO, isn't it. Sorry, but 3 CIA operatives do not make a U.S. security team. They're just 3 guys with 9mm hand guns against 20-50 radicals with semi-automatic riffles and rocket launchers.

Exactly what Hillary wanted. She's the reason there was such as small number of security forces at Benghazi on that fateful day. It fit the Obama narrative that all was well in Libya after the fall of Qaddafi.

So, I guess there was a stand down order. Did congress talk to these guys? Was the order justified? This new evidence appears to contradict the left wing talking points.

I thought Stevens was the top CIA guy in Benghazi. Who was above him?

According to the three men who were part of the security force in Benghazi, Christopher Stevens would be alive today had they not had been issued the order to stand down.

That's seems like a significant impact to me.

All military confrontations have become political rather than allowing the generals to handle things.. It is not a good time to pledge your service and your life to your country when politicians are using you for political gain.

Oh I see......now all of a sudden you understand English. See that part needs to be addressed first as this way the majority that speak English. Wont have the same problem with your lapses.

Are you saying you still don't understand the info being newly released? Or are you looking to avoid finding that Link that shows this was just old information. According to you.....re-released?

Oh and I have shown several times New info or forgotten info about Benghazi......but that's not the issue here. The issue here.....is you saying this is Was already out with the public before.

So can ya come up with that link for us showing us this was all well Known.....or you can admit you don't have such a link or any info on this issue.

 Bubba has lept on the character-assassination train of the Libya veterans before. He chose to pick on a guy that one of our posters had actually served with, mind you, and sort of embarrassed himself at the time, but he demonstrated that he has a single task in these discussions and it is to protect the administration.

The testimony of the actual Libya vets correspond to the general critique of the Administration - that it dithered, stood down or delayed forces whose job it is to respond to these sorts of things, and then attempted to cover it up with a bunch of bull about a youtube video.

I mean, really, at this point, is anyone honestly trying to argue that it is somehow unlike our administration to dither and delay in the face of crises? Or that it is unlike them to dissemble?

I thought Stevens was the top CIA guy in Benghazi. Who was above him?

The Chief of Station answers to the Chief of Mission (the Ambassador), who is State Department.

So you do think the motivations behind a crime are important. Interesting. I guess you're behind hate crime legislation, then.

Knowing commission of an act is not the same as unknowing commission of it. That's why we differentiate between murder and manslaughter.

Clearly not relevant to this event.

That's interesting. You believe that the question of knowledge of the truth does not pertain to culpability in the charge that the Administration willfully dissembled?

There aren't any left-wing talking points. The POINT is that Benghazi is a non story. Ronald Reagn lost 225 American service men in Lebanon and then gathered up his toys and split! So, four guys in Benghazi is nuuuuuthing compared to that.

As is usual with Washington, it's not the crime that's the scandal, it's the cover-up. The Administration lied to the American people about a terrorist attack in which an Ambassador was killed in order to shape an election. That isn't a non-story. It's the kind of thing that would have resulted in mass-calls for impeachment from the Left had Bush done it.
