ISIS Beheads Steven Sotloff.....

You don't get credit for what the President is dpoing now MMC.
You get to find out when the Congressional Leaders do, AFTER thje fact .

Nothing tangential here--terrorists are terrorists--if BHO doesn't get them, you'll put up another dishonest thread .

Heya Nimby.....its clear you have no idea as to what you are talking about. You have no clue as to how things break over the Wire. As a matter of a fact there are a couple of complete media industries that can attest to that fact.

Yes its tangential as there was nothing about Shebab in the entire thread. Oh and the only dishonesty around here....is you talking about anyone here on the Right.

Sorry, " bombing them " minus a strategy ( he's had a good year to figure one out ) seems to be just pissing them off.

How a about a President who gives a rats ass, one who's not limited by a corrupt ideology

One who doesn't weigh every thing he does on the basis of will it benefit him and his party

A President who's QUALIFIED.

So they wouldn't be pissed off if we bombed them with a strategy?

Maybe bombing them is our strategy.

It is indeed horrific, and thoughts go to his family, it is a horrible human tradgedy.

But is this all that ISIS can do? Kill American hostages who are tied up? What happens when they run out of them? More sternly worded warnings?

Are we supposed to quake in fear? Are supposed to spend another trillion and thousands of soldier's lives?

I'm not impressed by their attempts to scare us.

I heard today on the radio, that ISIS buys hostages from other terror groups far and wide, they may never run out until we stop them.

So they wouldn't be pissed off if we bombed them with a strategy?

Maybe bombing them is our strategy.
And now the President has ordered 350 more military personnel to Iraq .

I heard today on the radio, that ISIS buys hostages from other terror groups far and wide, they may never run out until we stop them.

When was the last time that we stopped evil?

General platitudes that mean nothing to those in the know MMC.

Yes its tangential as there was nothing about Shebab in the entire thread.
So al Shabaab shouldn't be discussed as terrorists?
And you can prove they're not related to Middle East terrorist groups?
Oh and the only dishonesty around here....is you talking about anyone here on the Right.
Well--you've got your war--I hope yer happy--because you have point blank been cheering for one and I can prove it.
The only ones who started attacking me are from the fright-wing.
Says a lot about the desperate position GOPs find themselves in today.
We'll see what we will see in nine weeks.

Just the facts Nimby, especially with what comes over the Wire or thru Breaking News. Also known as Hot News. Platitudes have nothing to do with any of it.

If you want to discuss al Shebab out of Africa and about them being terrorists.....I don't have a problem with it. They just don't have anything to do with this issue.

Oh its not my War.....Its these Terrorists, known as ISIS vs the entire Planet. Guess who loses.

Damn, that is awful. I just saw it on MSNBC. I don't know what's going to happen now, but this is very bad.

Looks like bad alliances are going to have to be made. buddying up with Assad so that we can squeeze ISIL back into his brick wall as they are pushed out of Iraq.

Starting to make more sense why iron fisted dictators ran the middle east... just to suppress these even more extreme nutjobs.

More empty words from you that just said nothing.

If you want to discuss al Shebab out of Africa and about them being terrorists
So you still won't discuss whether they're related to Middle East terrorists in Iraq, Syria et al.

Oh its not my War
You've been cheering for it--I can prove it--I don't find any of your jokes and sick political cartoons funny.

You might be one of the few on this board who doesn't think he has a strategy/policy.
You can bet the dead ISILs and dead Somalis know he has a strategy.

I sure as hell don't want to know his policy, nor do I want the idiots in both parties to know it,
BEFORE the fact, as we saw with Mosul, Amerili, and now Somalia.

Are you aware of how many American soldiers are in Iraq right now?
How long is the President allowed to do whatever he wants to do before Congress weighs in ?

Telling us he has a strategy ISN'T telling us WHAT HIS STRATEGY IS.

No their not empty words Nimby.....its just puts what you have to say into proper perspective. Which eventually you will figure that out.

You can always produce your link to show whether they are related or not.

Yep.....I have been cheering everybody to take on these terrorists and their Army and to put an end to their misery. Including even Organized Crime Syndicates, criminal elements of all walks of life, and all Nations. They are everyones problem.

I heard today on the radio, that ISIS buys hostages from other terror groups far and wide, they may never run out until we stop them.

It's their money.

But a few months ago, McCain said we have to fight Assad, and everyone agreed with him. Now he says we have to fight Assad's enemies. He just wants us to fight because defense contractors = money.

He's definitely a hawk in every sense. One that makes no sense. So glad he never made prez. He'd have us at war with ourselves just to have a war.

I would be ok with 2 and experience as a governor. Thats why I liked Mitt. I don't like candidates who have only been in public life and have done nothing except in the public real. Also, serving in the senate for one term just isn't enough which is why I can't get on the Paul, Rubio or that Texas guy - forget his name.

Some acting experience and governor of a big state seems to work out best.

to me, being qualified would be someone who

1) Served in the military
AND
2) Started and operated a business
AND
3) Had formal education and real life experience in the fields of economics and foreign affairs (BA/BS in econ, BS or Masters in business, BA/MA in international studies, Masters of International Business, etc, maybe held a position like ambassador or secretary of state)
AND
4) Held multiple terms in congress (preferably in both houses, for federal government experience and to learn how congress REALLY works), and was a Governor (for executive government experience)

Do you know anyone who fit's that description? I can't recall anyone like that running for POTUS in my lifetime. I'd even settle for three out of four.,

He is basically Dr. Strangelove. But, he is miles better than the oaf that he beat in the last Republican primary, JD "I want to marry my horse" Hayworth.

But McCain just speaks for the contractors, war is profit.

I'm more glad that the quitter dumbass Alaska Governor never made it as VP.

Well Congress did weigh in.....and Feinstein's words being the Chair of the Senate Intel does carry weight with the Democrats. Just sayin.

Congress pressures Obama on IS after 2nd beheading claim.....

US lawmakers Tuesday called for Secretary of State John Kerry to present administration policy for "rolling back" the Islamic State's gains, after the rampaging group claimed it beheaded a second American. With members of the House and Senate warning that President Barack Obama has not done enough to combat the extremist group, House Foreign Affairs Committee chairman Ed Royce said he was summoning Kerry to testify once Congress returns next week from its recess. "We anticipate there would be a vote for authorization of the use of force" before the 60-day period expires, Royce said.

On Sunday, Senate Intelligence Committee chair Dianne Feinstein warned that Obama was not doing enough to tackle the IS threat. "I think I've learned one thing about this president, and that is he's very cautious. Maybe in this instance, too cautious," Feinstein told NBC's "Meet the Press.".....snip~

Save for Congressional experience GWB, he served in the military, started his own business (though it failed), had an MBA from Harvard Business School after graduating from Yale with a BA in History and served as governor of Texas. The same goes for GHWB, he was a WW2 Veteran, graduated from Yale with an economics major, started the Bush-Overbey oil development company, served in the House of Representatives, was the ambassador to the United Nations, was the director of the CIA, and then was Vice President under Reagan. GHWB was probably over qualified for the position and I liked Clinton but would have liked to have seen a 2nd GHWB term.

Such is the price of empire. More to come since quite a lot of people support the fight against ISIS.

Dammit

.....they carried thru with the threat rather than chance of ransoming him. What say ye?

The Islamic State militant group released a video purporting to show the beheading of U.S. hostage Steven Sotloff, the SITE monitoring service reported on Tuesday.

A masked figure in the video also issued a threat against a British hostage, a man the group named as David Haines, and warned governments to back off “this evil alliance of America against the Islamic State”, the monitoring service said.

In hindsight, it may not have been a good idea for his mother to make a public video appealing to ISIS to release him. That may have just drawn attention to him, ISIS realizing it would have more emotional impact after the video.

They are truly evil. Worse than animals. Animals don't do such things.

I think we should get the hell out of there. Every single American. They've been killing and beheading and torturing each other for centuries. We don't need to join the fray. We got involved in the first place by sticking our nose into places where it doesn't belong. Helping Al Qaeda & bin Laden years ago, invading Iraq, messing with Libya, etc. We need to get out and stay out. We only need to concern ourselves with helping Israel. We don't need oil from there. We get very little oil from that region, now.

Damn, that is awful. I just saw it on MSNBC. I don't know what's going to happen now, but this is very bad.

Americans need to stop going there. From military to dogs to journalists to aid workers. Get out, and stay out. We have no business there.

NOW do others see why it took a Saddam Hussein to run Iraq? He was brutal, but he sure as heck kept out the terrorists and Iran. That part of the world is like that. They live lower than animals. They don't reason, they don't think logically, they don't value life. They're fanatics.

As Obama should be learning now, you can run but you can't hide. Had he been more familiar with Black history he would have known that.
