You are saying that there are distinct differences between the races......and that blacks are better athletes.......classic definition of a racist. Do you also believe that the reason there are more White QBs is because Whites are smarter and can read defenses better......c'mon you've already started down that slippery slope......why not go all in with your racism?

There's a difference between racial pride and racism.........were those 3 billion Chinese, who had never watched a basketball game, but stayed up to the wee hours to watch Jeremy Lin 'racists'?

Bottom line whether you lefties admit it or not the guy just was not that good. He got and opportunity to make the team and he failed.He did not even make the practice squad. The guy would have been cut whether he was gay or not. Maybe he will catch on in Canada...I hope so.

Since he told everyone he is gay the circus will follow him wherever he goes...The players not what they say publicly and not ready to accept someone gay in the shower rooms nor should they have to. He should have kept his mouth shut about his gayness.

Most of the team owners are Jewish.......and they love to promote black athletes over White players.....but the biggest problem is the DWFs who will scream and moan if 'their team' picks a White WR, DB or RB

My college does anything it can to ensure a quota of black students are admitted each year, yet most of the football players and vast majority of basketball players are black. I guess that's due to racism too or just maybe, it all starts with most high school players on down are black in part because, especially in city ghettos, they have little other career path to aim for.

Nope, most high school players are White......but that's where the problem starts.....the Rivals 'star' rating system which will never promote a White RB or WR as a 'five star'. Jordy Nelson, who is a top five receiver in the NFL had to walk on at Kansas State.......as a safety. Wes Welker, the leading receiver in the NFL for five years, got a last minute D-1 offer at Texas Tech and wasn't even drafted by an NFL team.........Toby Gerhart, was given a two star 'fullback' rating coming out if high school even though he played RB in the California high school system and put up incredible rushing numbers. The only D-1 school to offer him a scholorship was White-friendly Stanford. He should have won the Heisman......see how all this works?

I agree....but even that is changing. The younger generation is much more comfortable and accepting. The homophobes are dying out....but just like there are still racists around....there always will be homophobes as well....just in smaller numbers.

If homosexuality has a sliver of genetic causality, then it follows that heterosexuals would have an defensive aversion to it. In fact I would posit that, in reality there are by far many more homophobes and always will be, than there are would-be, racists.

He was not closeted to his team in college and was unlikely to be closeted going forward...the "circus" you speak of was going to occur regardless of what he did, it just depends on WHEN it happened and on whose terms. Unless you're suggestion was he should have permanently hidden his sexual orientation from everyone in his life until he was done with football.

To be honest, there would statistically be quite a few I imagine. The NFL is not immune to political correctness, and the NFL has made themselves clear on the issue of tolerance. My guess is that although one would expect there to be no outburst's of gay-hate, there most certainly are those that are in that locker room and who completely despise the whole idea of showering with a gay man. That said, I think most of that hate would be from ignorance, some from experience, and some from a natural instinct to avoid that which they cannot compute. Either way, to say that, even if speculative, there are players that may act one way in front of a camera and feel quite the opposite in private would not be too much of a stretch.
