Now ISIS will play on BO's emotions and test that Negotiation Process we have. This time with a woman. What do you think the outrage will be if they Cut a US Woman's Head off?

A third American hostage held by ISIS has been identified as a 26-year-old American woman who was kidnapped a year ago while doing humanitarian relief work in Syria. The terror group is demanding $6.6 million and the release of U.S. prisoners for the life of the young woman, who the family requested not be identified.

In addition to the multi-million dollar ransom, the terror group has also demanded that the U.S. release Aafia Siddiqui, an MIT-trained neuroscientist who was convicted by the U.S. in 2010 of trying to kill U.S. officials two years before, according to a supporter of Siddiqui who has been in contact with the hostage’s family.....snip~

We traded 5 five Taliban prisoners to get Bowe Bergdahl back, we recently gave $47 Billion to Hamas, so given the fact Obama has negotiated prior with terrorists: it was only a matter of time before ISIS would be doing the same.

Hope Obama had a nice vacation, he is sitting in the hot seat!

Yeah and ISIS tried to trade Foley for Lady Al Qaida to.....but Team BO couldn't just trade out with all the fall out from Bergdahl. Plus now a finding by the GAO that it was illegal anyways.

Which I mentioned to some radio jocks that that should be brought back around and taken to the MS media as to why they didn't cover that to well.

Let's see.

ISIS rolls across the east and north of Syria and Iraq, capturing cities and recruiting the populace in a local brand of "regime change."

An American free-lance journalist is beheaded. Unlike the assassination of a sitting Ambassador in Benghazi, the Obama administration [with a city in siege] determines this atrocity must be met with air raids and drone attacks.

Result" ISIS takes US citizen hostage and demands a whopping $3,000,000,000.

Yep, Obama's middle east policy is working....sure has ISIS on the run.

Heya F&L :2wave: Well we have to do get something done either by using others or by ourselves. ISIS has taken Scuds missiles from Assad. So BO started flying manned and unmanned recon flights over Syria. Starting last night or early this morning. No telling what other Ballistic missiles they picked up from Assad either.....but we do know they came up with a lot of anti air.

Berghdhal was a prisoner of war exchange...which the US has done since the Revolutionary War.

Good Morning MMC

I don't recall hearing about the wanted trade for Foley (thanks for that info) but did know they wanted a large sum of money, we were told after the fact. Now we are being informed, gotta wonder why? It's only giving more credence to ISIS. Right again, as we discussed the GAO findings previously, Obama broke the law on the trade concerning Bergdahl.

Hope the radio jocks do bring it around, would be great to hear it all properly.

So, the inevitable escalation has occurred. The local forces have entrenched in an effort to defend themselves, now who could have foreseen that?

Now, I guess with air strikes challenged they will have to put hardware on the ground to take it out. It is what any Peace Prize recipient would do, right?

Can anyone tell me, other than the fact ISIS is not the group of US choice for a puppet government, why the US absolutely MUST fight them? If they're trying to stop people from killing each other, they should start on the nation's streets. When you have a country where men and women can live together in peace and harmony, maybe the rest of the world will look up to that.

They still haven't gotten a clue that the U.S. government doesn't pay ransom to terrorists...and while their murder of Foley was bad, just wait to see what America does if they murder an American woman. As much as it's not really talked about, chivalry is still very much a part of our culture. They haven't seen us well and truly pissed yet.

True enough. First this administration advances policies in Libya and Syria that give blossoming room for the militant Islamists and then we have to double back into the region and fight them. As far back as Jimmy Carter, we have been practicing this insanity. Arming the Mujahideen in A-Stan, helped drive the Soviet Union out, but left a power vacuum that gave rise to the Taliban which we had to come fight later. Al Qaeda was another problem we fought in Iraq for a decade only to use them in the operation to overthrow Gaddafi, and then in Syria, there are many benefiting from training in CIA camps, Jordan/Turkey, as well as intel and weaponry pilfered from Gaddafi's army. Should they succeed, we'll be looking at a power vacuum there as well. Only the elbow room we gave IS may have given rise to a bigger problem then bargained for.

And this my fellow Americans is why we DON'T give into ransoms.

Well said! Although watching them take revenge, in the savage way they do, is both horrible and utterly wrong! I have to believe that Karma will repay in kind, down to the last farthing, or it would be unbearable....

ooh, ooh, ooh!

What WILL America do?

A handful of Arabs with box cutters stopped the nation for a week and changed life forever. There are now more military and military-equipped police in US streets than any other "free" country. You have been killing those responsible for 13 years with the result that terrorists thought by your president to be just some joyful Arabs happy that he bombed their cities for them assassinated the only Ambassador to be killed in the line of duty in 30 years and got away with it.

You spent what, seven years in Iraq killing terrorists and terrorist sympathizers and now have to back. 13 years with the full resources of NATO for the most of it and Afghanistan is still a training ground for terrorists.

The US dribbling in Kyev caused a regime change, and a war in eastern Europe, the first nation grab since Hitler invaded Poland, a civilian airliner shot down and your president walks away like nothing happened?

Obama promised revenge for this beheading, and now has a hostage crisis. Obviously ISIS is terrified.

So, please, exactly what it is ISIS is supposed to fear here?

Yeah, I'm thinking that the Islamists, fed up with US interference in the ME consider their beheading of Foley a little Karma coming back on the US for women and children we've been killing there for 20 years or more.

We gave $47 Billion to Hamas? I don't think so.

Heya KS. :2wave: And Reuters had a poll up on that. Most American don't favor paying a ransom.

The young ladies mother and father would likely have a different opinion.

Wait. I thought all this time Obama's "Apology" was the end of this hatred for America.

Berghdhal was a prisoner of war exchange...which the US has done since the Revolutionary War.

How so.....the Taliban wasn't a Fielded Army nor were they a Nation State as an Official Enemy to conduct such an exchange. Also the GAO has already stated it was illegal.

Truly hyperbole. They have received aid though for distribution to the Palestinian people smarting from the relentless Israeli campaign on civilians, and they are the legitimate government, whether or not the US likes it.

Yes they gave aid to the Palestinian people but not $47 Billion, more like Million.

You are correct, I made a typo it was $47 Million. Good catch, thanks!! :)

 I could only imagine the political ****storm if we actually gave them $47 Billion.
