Obama Approves Air Surveillance of ISIS in Syria.....

I think it's a good call, long term, but you raise a good point in that he has done this unilaterally. Though I doubt dialogues between Assad, Obama, and Putin would have ultimately changed the decision to gather intel this way, sometimes just saying, "Yo, we about to do dis" is a gesture that can alleviate some of the huff in international relations.

Mornin' PG. :2wave: It has to be done with the Recon. First the eyes before sending anything else in.....they have access to an Airport. They now have a means to get something up in the Air.

I haven't heard Russia sound off on this.....but they may be busy with Putin and the Ukrainian President meeting.

Also without international support in money and troops I would not want us to go in there alone either. IMO, and I know it sounds harsh, but if we cannot get international support I am all for letting it get bad enough there to jusitfy nukes.

LOL There will be no nukes no matter what happens. The U.S. will never be the first to launch a nuclear attack and with good reason. Nukes are for MAD not for tactical use.

Mornin Lady P.

Seems Team BO didn't listen.....and according to the one WH Official who isn't named. They wont be asking Assad for any permission or talking to him.

Yeah only 17 countries acknowledged the MB backed Rebels. Which only 7 acknowledged them as Ruling Syria. Of course that was with Assad saying otherwise. So there about a good 100 countries that have not weighed in.

Still Ban Ki Moon and the UN dealt with Assad over the Chems and are in talks with him.

MMC, I don't think this latest move by Obama is a wise one, and could bring retribution upon the people of this country who have had no say in what's being done by DC. Treating Assad, who is the leader of 22 million people in Syria, as a inconsequential nobody who can be ignored, is mind-boggling! How dare we do this insulting thing in the first place, all because of some troublemaking rebels who aren't liked by the majority of people being affected! Even the UN disagrees with Obama, and acknowledges Assad as the ruler of Syria. I usually don't agree with the UN on most things, but this time I do. Obama is telling a sovereign country that he will do what he wants in that country, with or without permission? Words fail me....

Well the UN did go after their funding Lady P. Also, the Brits Cameron is on this with Team BO. Might see some Brits Planes being sent to Cyprus, again. Or put on alert.

Judging from what I am hearing, Cameron is well on his way to losing his job. Is he counting on Obama to help him by doing this? The Brits don't agree with Cameron's decision. A lot of that may be because Russia is an ally of Syria, and the Brits don't want a problem with Russia, and Russia will weigh in at some point - you can count on that! Never good to be on the wrong side of someone who has a monopoly on supplying you with oil and heating products - especially since Winter is coming!

And then US officials complain why Egypt and UAE was not consulted with Washington about airstrikes.
There's also Israel who doesn't care at all striking UN schools and doesn't care even more when US criticize them.

Rebels are everywhere there, in Libya, Egypt, Syria, Yemen. ISIS still forwarding.
Well, I guess that region ain't anymore an unstable region, it's de juro a region in war.

Agreed, my good sir.
