I fully understand why you're upset about the lack of reporting on the death of the White men and the clear racial attack of the elderly White woman. You hear all the media reports of young Black male teens being killed by cops or White people being harassed by Black teens or killed by Black cops and you wonder "where's the fairness and justice" being shown to Blacks when these same crimes are happening to Whites. Believe me, as a Black man, I understand your frustration here. But as I've said to other posters here who have identified themselves as White, the reason there doesn't seem to be much outrage over such stories is because historically Whites haven't been mistreated and oppressed in this country in the ways Black and other minorities have for as long as they have. Culturally speaking, the wounds are deeper when it's a Black person or a Black community that is perceived to have been unjustly treated and the media makes sure the nation sees the gaping wholes. Unfortunately, the absence of such storylines also prove to reflect a purposeful disparity in White people can also be mistreated.
None of this justifies the lack of reporting/lack of attention of such cruelty. But hopefully this sheds some light on why much of it never makes the national news. That leads me to why you won't see Pres. Obama speak out on such matters. IMHO, contrary to what many would like to believe, I don't think he purposefully selects what racial shooting he'll hold a press conference on. Remember: It's the national storyline that affects the entire country that brings him before the podium. I'm sure if the country became riveted by the brutal, senseless killing of a White kid by a Black cop or a Black gang, he'd speak out about that, too. But until such killings make the national headlines - CNN, FOX, NYTimes, Washington Times/Post, etc., etc., you likely won't hear him talk about it. Not defending him; just telling it like it is. You can blame the media for that, though. No the President.
