For the past couple of days, I’ve been pointing out the numerous problems in Jim Hoft’s anonymously sourced claim that Ferguson PD officer Darren Wilson suffered a fractured eye socket in a purported struggle with teenager Michael Brown, and now CNN is reporting that sources close to the investigation have told them this story is completely false:

As I pointed out in this article, Jim Hoft wrote that his source for the claim about the fractured eye socket was the St. Louis County Prosecutor’s office. I’ve emailed the prosecutor’s office asking them for comment on Hoft’s claim, and will post if I receive a reply.

It's not a so what situation. The swollen face may still be as a result of the same/similar physical conflict argued by the defense. I'm saying that the nature of the conflict between Brown and Wilson will probably still be debated for a while.

I am waiting until something credible or definitive actually comes out.I remember the low resolution video footage of Zimmeran walking into the police station and the liberal scum media claiming Zimmerman made up the claim his head was pounded into the pavement. There was the 9-11 call that was altered by CBS to make it seem as though Zimmerman had some racist motivation for calling 9-11 on Martin. The liberal scum on MSNBC were trying to claim that inaudible word on a 9-11 tape was a racist remark.

There you have it. And what of all those on the right who ran with this as evidence that Brown was rightfully killed as the officer was fighting for his life, all while they were cautioning others to have a wait for all the facts approach?

Crazy Redress, who wants to do that?

No seriously...who wants to do that, because it seems almost no one in this freaking country is actually doing that. I've actually largely avoided trying to post in most of these threads thus far because frankly the ZEALOT like nature of people on both sides is frustrating and rather worthless to try and wade through. So few people actually seem to honestly just want to know what happened, they want to know what happened that fits their preconceived notions and agendas and thoughts.

Much like Trayvon and Zimmerman in the end, I imagine that after all is said and done and all the bull**** and propaganda and protests and police action and all the other crap....the reality is going to be a lot more murky on both sides and it'll be somewhere in between what either one has been claiming so loudly since the start.

And we still don't know the facts. CNN is in the business to make money. They make more when people are watching. They could very well have come out with this to stir things up, seeing the officer in question was now winning in the greater public eye. They can always backtrack later if they're wrong. But can do victory laps if they're right. Either way, cha-ching!
 
That is why I laugh when posters and the general public jumpt to conclusions before the investigation is done.

News media in all its forms likes to be first, grab the headlines, etc.

We had reports that Brown was shot in the back by a witness. Seems the released medical reports do not support that conclusion.

One should take as it is happening news reports with a grain of salt. Blogs, etc are just as bad.

Lets see what comes out when the investigation is done.

And, he didn't make it that clear..he put it up there for more sensationalism. He put (file image) under the picture. At no point did he say "this xray is an example of what an orbital fracture looks like"

Bonus.....he duped Ann Coulter, who took the xray and claimed it was Darren Wilson's.

No, Fox is right wing, MSNBC is left wing. CNN is moderate.

But to someone who is ultra right wing, every media source outside of Fox and discredited bloggers is left wing.

It changes little. An assault on an officer is a felony. Going for a gun is another. I don't know if this is what happened but you don't know it didn't. So if you're suggesting that speculation is wrong I'll agree, but if you're saying only that speculation that disagrees with your narrative is wrong then you're just dishonest.

Maybe? Never heard of him before you started your little hate campaign.

Hint: CNN is a respected news org FOR MONEY. Without the dollars they would not even be a blog. They make money because people watch. Thus they do all they can to ensure people watch. CNN has told many a porkie in the past, they just quietly walk it back every time, making the bucks every step of the way.
