Missouri cop was badly beaten before shooting Michael Brown, says source | Fox News

Darren Wilson, the Ferguson, Mo., police officer whose fatal shooting of Michael Brown touched off more than a week of demonstrations, suffered severe facial injuries, including an orbital (eye socket) fracture, and was nearly beaten unconscious by Brown moments before firing his gun, a source close to the department's top brass told FoxNews.com.

“The Assistant (Police) Chief took him to the hospital, his face all swollen on one side,” said the insider. “He was beaten very severely.”

The source also said the dashboard and body cameras, which might have recorded crucial evidence, had been ordered by Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson, but had only recently arrived and had not yet been deployed.

If this article is accurate, they're going to have a hard time indicting Officer Wilson. If the dash and body cams have any footage, along with testimonies and corroborating evidence that exonerate him, will this become a 'flash point' for more riots/protests?

The cameras weren't used because they weren't installed.

I also suspect that Wilson will be indicted no matter what evidence comes out. There are simply too many people too heavily invested politically, emotionally and ideologically for there not to be an indictment. I realize that those factors aren't supposed to be taken into consideration but I have no doubt that they will be.

Yes, it will be claimed it was "doctored" and any small reason to riot will do.

That's why Holder was sent. To make sure of indictment.

I think so too. That way if the locals won't do it, the feds will.

I hate to bring up Zimmerman but it reminds me of after verdict was read, Holder had to review to make sure they couldn't find something.

Where are the dash cam videos or even pictures of these supposed injuries? No where to be found. So stop the hoaxing.

The officer is white, the 'victim' was black. Thus the officer is guilty. That is the only information they want about this case, all other bits are not relevant.

;)

I think it will be quite the opposite, and even if there are charges brought, it will be as little as possible.

If the scientific evidence supports more of Wilson's version, it's going to be hard to conclude that Brown wasn't a further threat.

I misread the article, where it said they had not been deployed. My error.

Read the article before you make yourself look like more of a fool with more stupid questions.

Could it be possible that it has been kept under wraps for the investigation? Not uncommon for information under investigation is kept tight. The only thing out there right now is witnesses and their lawyers doing interviews, leaks about Wilson's version and the autopsy results from the examiner hired by Brown's family.

So as this progresses and if the injuries are legit with hospital and photo documentation, what say you?

You don't think there would be outcry if the victim was white?

Police give all that data over to the investigators and the DA's office. They don't release that information until the bosses say so (we're not talking the police higher ups either).

No, there wouldn't be. Nor would there be rioting, nor would Sharpton or Holder be there, nor would our president have said a word about it.

re: Missouri cop was badly beaten before shooting Michael Brown[W:150]

That'll give Eric Holder plenty of time to review every possible angle to make a case from a non-case (if a non-case situation happened).

Interestingly enough, over on DailyKos (where I first saw this) they are saying pretty much the same thing except that in their case it's the DA and Ferguson PD who are making stuff up.

This really doesn't bode well. It's looking like no matter what evidence comes out it's going to be presumed to be fake. That really doesn't leave a lot of room for resolution at any point.

You guys are starting to sound like holocaust deniers.

It doesn't seem that anyone ever 'wins' in these. If the cop makes out okay then the community is enraged again. If the cop doesn't well his life is already ruin no matter what - innocent or guilty.

Short answer...no.

Yes, and meanwhile he won't investigate the criminal in chief and his cronies.

It's been widely reported!

Or everyday black on black crime. You'd think Both would really be motivated to return hope and pride to fellow black citizens. Holder just continually stirs up racial trouble and that's why I think it's very important for local jurisdiction to take command. If you can't trust locals from what I have been seeing Feds can't be any better.
