You most certainly did!

'Disgusting', 'demented' and 'justice' are not words that belong in the same sentence.

^ How is that sentence saying you have a problem with gays? :thinking

You enjoy your sadistic fantasies then. Probably the closest thing to a 'homosexual' relationship you conservatives will approve of.

your kind of lumping him in with that one

Medieval ages is exactly where people of that mindset belong.

Sure, what I find ironic, is that your use of Thomas Paine's quote in your sigline is actually circular reasoning. The fact that you fail to grasp its meaning, is uniquely eye opening. :)

Tim-

Lots of conservatives say they "have no problem with gays, just their lifestyle."

Besides, that is not the quote he cited.

I know exactly its meaning. Seems like you're trying to change the subject.

Resources and control of resources do. Every buck saved on food is a buck for weed and alcohol.

Without the food stamps they would just be far more likely to commit crimes... and still find time for that weed and alcohol.

I know plenty of poor people (including myself until recently) who never committed crimes. Do you have such a low opinion of the poor? Is the status quo acceptable to you?

I never said they all do.

Do you have such a low opinion of the poor?

It is reality. When people are very desperate they sometimes do desperate things.

Is the status quo acceptable to you?

Absolutely not. As I stated before, I am unhappy with the current welfare system. It should be replaced with Thomas Paine's citizen dividend.

Its already illegal to commit crime. Are we to be held hostage to a mob who threatens violence because handouts are withheld?

Its already illegal to commit crime.

That's why most people don't do it unless their survival depends on it.

Are we to be held hostage to a mob who threatens violence because handouts are withheld?

"Mob who threatens violence"... now who has a negative opinion of the poor? ;)

Because it is inherently non-procreative.

Be more specific.

They are immoral.

iv spent the last 29 years not making kids why is that wrong? siting hear typing at the computer im not getting any one pregnant why is that wrong?

A few of the problems I have with whole hurrah is:

- rape is wrong under any circumstance even in prison and regardless of what they did
- it isn't like innocent people have never been convicted
- we are supposed to uphold the law and what we know to be right, regardless of what others do or do not do otherwise there is no difference between us

Agreed.

Sure, the guy is a total loser...but you cannot start allowing prisoners to get raped because they are convicted of horrible crimes.

And, as you said, not everyone convicted is guilty.

But even if this guy did it, he should not be raped in prison...no matter how justified it may seem.

Finally, if jails become lawless, then criminals will stop at nothing to avoid them. Rapists will kill their victims to avoid leaving witnesses since even a short sentence could be a death sentence. And so on.

My comments were regarding a group that would commit crimes if not given hand outs.

This is not about 'pacifying' those who would commit the crimes. Its about keeping people out of a desperate situation where the temptation would be greater.

They are immoral.

I don't see how (from a secular or spiritual view) they are immoral. What is immoral is recklessly having unprotected sex without having a plan to take care of the children one may create.

They are immoral.

Really? What did Jesus think was immoral? Oh yea, that's right. It was letting the kids starve AFTER they were born.

"Whatever you do unto the least of these you have done unto me". ~Jesus of Nazareth

You have such a low opinion of them that they must be appeased? People should take care of themselves. That may not be pretty at first-but the fact that people will violently oppose taking care of themselves is interesting.
