ISIS massacres 90 Yazidis in Northern Iraq

When they reach critical mass and we clearly designate them from embedded guerrillas, then we can help them because they are willing to be helped.

Do you have no idea what's going on in Iraq?

yeah, they are having the latest iteration of a string of terrorist groups.

No, there's a large terrorist group committing genocide. It's not just a suicide bomb and a rocket here and there, ISIS is committing genocide against helpless victims as we type.

Something absent pre 2003.

sadam was no better than hitler and that is part of the problem. the culture is so volatile that such tactics had to be used. just let the **** explode and the fuel burn itself out. once these people stop viewing their religion like 11th century europe did, they can join humanity and we can have business dealings, investments, and do other things that actually enrich their lives.

yup, that was inherent in my statement

But not against Americans. We have neither the manpower, resources, or the will to prevent every genocide that occurs around the world.

Iraq voices anger as US air force defends Irbil – but not Baghdad

Iraq voices anger as US air force defends Irbil

Iraq's political class has watched with fear and envy in the last fortnight as American jets have slowed the Islamic State extremist group's advance towards the Kurdish stronghold of Irbil.

At the same time, the group, formerly known as Isis, has been trying to encircle Baghdad – untroubled by air strikes. Its manoeuvres near the national capital in recent days have consolidated gains it has made in the last two tumultuous months and made the very existence of Iraq in its current borders ever more precarious.

while I support the use of air power, there are a lot of fronts on this war -including Syria itself. only so much we can do..

new Iraqi PM - so now what?

Is there another genocide taking place?

It's not an endorsement of Hussein, its a criticism of policy that has made matters in Iraq WORSE then they were under him. But don't think for a minute that humanitarianism has anything to do with US policy in Iraq. There were no terrorist organizations running around Iraq pre 2003.

See this is good, because the kurdish state is fairly peaceful and have shown they can stabilize their own society (not perfectly, but they do pretty good). The rest of iraq needs to take this lesson.

(also, we should be supportive of them just taking their piece of land and forming a new country)

Three years after Gaddafi, Libya is imploding into chaos and violence
World View: Its government has no real power; militias are ever more entrenched, and now the state itself is under threat.

absolutely a fiasco -I write a sort of blog (c/p) of daily events, with some commentary in it about the continuing mess we left in Libya.

FYI if you'd like to review it, rather then me c/p a few. Obama & NATO screwed the pooch big time. here is the link

US policy is facilitating the drowning of the ME in sectarian violence. If I could make the period bigger, I would

So I take that as a "No."

A huge NO to US policy in the ME.

You mean Obama.

He's your president, he hurts himself, he hurts you, he tarnishes US credibility, he tarnishes yours.

we are supporting the Kurds, they seem to be doing most of the fighting.
Hopefully they get Kurdistan out of this -Iraq is going to partition, i'm almost sure
But then again Maliki turned the Iraqi army into a sectarian militia....anyways..what about Baghdad ? kinna tough to sit back and let it get terrorized...

I think the only way towards peace is a three state solution and I am fully supportive of it. Defining the borders, thats the problematic part and its going to unfortunately be a bloody affair. I dont think there is any viable solution except war. There are just too many generations of vendettas.

However, the moment a treaty is signed defining borders. We need to put a ton of un troops there to enforce it until there is a cooling off period. Thats their only long term chance I think.

That depends on who one blames for 9/11 :)

Former Egyptian interior minister.

In his televised testimony, El-Adly stated,

In May 2001, we received information that a very huge terrorist attack will happen in the USA. How? The source of the information was inside the lair of Al-Qaeda. And we verified it, that there were preparations for the attack.

I talked to the President (Mubarak) and I told him that I have information that a huge terrorist attack will happen in the USA, and I asked him if we should tell them [the Americans]. He said “OK.”

We contacted the CIA and FBI and told them about the information, they said “Thanks.”

On August of the same year we received the information that the (operation) entered its course of implementation (is entering its final steps).

An operation like this takes time, preparations and arrangements, etc. This conversation was recorded between us and the source. I called the President and told him the information is confirmed, “Should we tell them?” He said “Tell them.” We called the people in the USA and told them that the operation entered the course of implementation. They said “OK” and “Thanks.”

Then the attack on the WTC happened. This was the operation. Do you see how cooperative we were?!?! This is why I am furious and enraged. I cooperated with them, and in return they hit my organization and destroyed (ruined) the country (Egypt)!!!

*Al Qaeda can be blamed for conducting the attack and the Bush administration for ignoring all the warnings.*

The whole reason IS is the problem that they are now, is that they were strengthened in part by arms being sent into Syria by the US. So lets just further the problem along.
was a lot of weapons diversion for sure. CIA still ( last I looked ) was training in Jordan - although with the refugees, it's hard to get data.

Hillary Clinton is an IDIOT, making noises about how we should have armed the Rebels ( non-jihadi) -it would have take more then just arms,we would have to impose no flys..

and you already know what a disaster that was for Libya -our "humanitarian war"
