American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq[W:1007]

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

No... no it wouldn't. A country that is small in population and run by tiny tribal sects does not equate to imperial Japan. Sorry.

Considering that the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks killed more Americans then the attack on Pearl Harbor by imperial Japan, I think we can dismiss the size and population statistics.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

Militant Islamic groups have been active since 700 AD, long before America came along, and we see this in that although they were a bit late arriving after the other major religions, they control almost all the Middle East.

They probably will control it one day , with Israel wiped out as well, and that seems to meet with the approval of many, especially among the Leftists. They will be moving into Spain soon, nothing to do with America, and other parts of Europe as well.

One positive consequence of all this murderous Muslim activity is that we don't have to put up with the tired term "Islamophobia" anymore.

I'm well aware of how long they've been at it and that their ambitions go beyond the US, obviously. That has nothing to do with the fact that our policies in the region in the past and present have aided them.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

The most evil of brutality starts by dehumanizing a group. Calling them animals allows the human to do brutality because they're not human. It's a lie of course. But it's one that blinds the person calling a group animals.

ISIS just a couple of days ago executed 80 men simply because they refused to convert to Islam. About a week before, they cut a 5 year old boy in half. They have also beheaded other children and put their heads on sticks. They have forcibly raped women. In light of all of that.....I choose to call them animals. You do whatever you want.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

Which again means next to nothing.

Tell that to the locals they are killing whose only perceived sin is refusing to convert to islam.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

we don't know the size of isis's millitary forces. last i heard it was somewhere around 10,000 or 15,000 millitants.

Hopefully their numbers will drastically decrease over the next several months.

A problem due in part to bad US policies.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

Anyone who doesn't really want them. They are not a mighty power. They just have a power void in Iraq, created by the destabilization of war.

And spurred on by the incompetent moron in the white house.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

No, conservatives are those who want to maintain the status quo - whether it was segregation or anything else. The fact that they were Democrats doesn't make them less conservative. The biggest collection of right wing assholes you could possibly think of were Southern Democrats. Thankfully, after the passage of the Civil Rights Act, most of them became Republicans.

You mean that civil rights act that had a higher percentage of republicans voting for it then democrats? And are you suggesting that Former klansman Democrat Senator Robert "sheets" Byrd was a conservative?

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

Hawks and war mongers will not concede that Muslims in the Middle East could actually have some legitimate issues with the US. We have minded our own p's & q's, and have been a completely benevolent super power and this anger they have towards us is inexplicable.

Muslims in the middle east who join terrorist groups such as Al Queda, Taliban, Hamas, Hezzbollah, etc, have no legitimate issues with the US. When they target and burtally murder innocent civilians, they lose the right to claim any grievance with the US or anyone else. Hopefully some day, you gain the wisdom to work that out.

Do you ever consider militant Islamists to have legitimate complaints?

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

We have always negotiated with our enemies, and quite successfully as well.

If you don't learn anything else....hopefully at some point, you will learn that terrorists do not represent governments or for that matter, rank and file muslims. Terrorists are evil, sinister animals that only understand one thing. Their own destruction. Negotiating with a terrorist is about as realistic as negotiating with a pack of wild rabid wolves.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

Why do you give any value to what OBL had to say?

Funny the way this guy can be quoted to prove a point and dismissed when problematic. And unfortunate that you're unaware of the issues that pissed him off and were reasons for his attack. Not much hope in avoiding future attacks when one refuses to acknowledge the stated reasons for being attacked.

.

No....I do not. I do not accept any justification for terrorism.

I do not care what issues pissed him off. OBL did not represent any specific country. His followers do not fight under any nation's flag. They are simply bloody murderous terrorists. They are animals. If a wild rabid dog is charging after me.....I don't care what his reasons are. I will destroy the animal before it destroys me.

You still fail to comprehend this basic fact. US support for militants in Syria has given rise to groups such as IS that are now committing these acts. The time for handwringing was when the US was supporting militant Islamists in Egypt, Libya, and Syria.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

I think you misread, but we did negotiated with both Germany and Japan, but also used forced. I linked examples of successful negotiation. It's not all or nothing, .

100% WRONG. We didn't negotiate AT ALL with Japan or Germany. They had to accept "unconditional surrender". Unconditional means zero negotiations. That is the entire point.

"They rejected absolutely any notion of negotiating with an enemy whom they regarded as criminal and refused to commit themselves to any conditions which might be offered or required by the German leadership"

US support for democracy and stability do not give "rise to such groups as ISIS"... these terror groups exist on their own accord and to not blame them 100% for their deeds and to cast blame towards somebody else is to tacitly condone their terror.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

Once a group turns to terrorism... killing women and children purposely, beheading people, etc. they lose 100% of any legitimacy and deserve nothing but annihilation.

What you are agreeing to without realizing it is that it's Obama's fault. Instead of supporting the Free Syria army, he supported the extremists.
