Re: Bill Clinton: "I could have killed" Osama bin Laden.
In fact when Bush left office things were better in Iraq and any arriving terrorists were soon killed. Now, since Obama went against the Generals advice, Iraq is a mess, along with Syria, Libya, Palestine, and most of the Middle East. Two presidents — one a hawkish Republican and the other a dovish Democrat — have mostly made things worse.
Read this and see what you think. Revisionist History Prevails on Iraq Invasion - Victor Davis Hanson - Page fullBefore George W. Bush's 2003 invasion, there was no terrorist presence in Iraq, and the Busdhh administration even had the gall to take credit for it. By needlessly invading on false premises and in vain hope of installing a democracy, the U.S. destabilized the country and inspired a generation of enemies — at great cost in blood and treasure.
Again, it was not a mess and Biden even tried to take credit for the accomplishment of Iraq. Now, with Obama's position further weakened by his equivocal response to atrocities in Syria, he's left with a bigger mess to clean up, one that demands fresh thinking about policies of war and peace that have failed so badly.
