Actually I was talking about the empty promises about changing the culture and conversation in Washington DC that he made during the campaign speeches. Surprising only to find out that he's a far worse offender than all those came before him.

Mind you, I never believe a politician when they claim that they'll change DC. Seems that the place has it's own inertia against it.

so a congressman can shout "You Lie" at a president during a special address to congress? that is an dangerous precedent you are supporting, especially if the same thing happens to future presidents.

you are not supposed to shout out anything during state of the union address's or other types of address's where the president is speaking before the entire congressional delegation.

Sure it breaks with formalities, protocol and the like, but frankly, I wish congress critters would always call the president out when he's lying, not just set there and swallow his/her bull****.

Lol, don't know how Putin got brought in here, but sure, if he was lying, as Obama was in this instance, why not, Merkel too, if you want consistency, Cameron, Erdogan and the rest.

And the President is not supposed to lie either. If Obama stopped telling lies, no one would call him a liar.

Most of our values we learned as children. Obama didn't have that background. Away from this Country as a young child, his early years were spent with family members and mentors who harbored bitterness and resentment toward the US. It was the way he was raised, and apparently the way he still feels. He didn't have relatives who died for this country, like many of us do. He ignores or defies our laws that he doesn't agree with; doesn't feel that he needs to abide by several recent unanimous Supreme Court decisions - unanimous meaning Justices he has appointed also don't go along with his actions! His speeches for the most part create dissention, divisiveness, unrest and anxiety among the people - rather than uniting us. His original campaign slogan promised Hope and Change - the "change" part has happened, and continues to happen, unfortunately for the worse as we lose more liberties by becoming PC, but the "hope" part for many people has yet to become reality. They hoped for better times, and it hasn't happened for most people, which his approval ratings reflect. Sad...

Exactly Monte......trick his lame ass into coming to give a State of the Union. Then grab him by the scruff of his neck and lift his scrawny weakass up off the ground. Then Censure him Right then and there in front of the American people and the rest of the planet.

Trust me he will look good playing Puppet. Maybe he can still smile that chessy grin for the camera afterwards too.

I think you lack a basic understanding of free speech.

From my observation PC forces the suppression of all of these things, which only forces it further underground, which, as history has taught us, a losing proposition.

Polgara, Yes, all that's true. The fault really lies with those that voted him in, believing his 'hope and change' campaign slogan more than looking deeper, especially those in the Biased Lame Stream Media, which ignored their responsibilities of 'speaking truth to power' and 'holding politician and government accountable', as well as bringing to light, i.e. vetting, candidates to high offices.

A perfect storm of ideology over common sense and responsibility, in my estimation.

I can't even call people doing stupid things or making stupid decisions stupid, fr fear of being called a racist. Surely you've seen this evolution. What is the most prevalent response to criticism in the political arena against presidential and administration polices? YOU ARE A RACIST!

Yeah, like that's reality.

This is little more than suppressing legitimate opinion and legitimate political discourse, as applied the last 5 years.

Little wonder we've ended up with such a crappy president. Such a crappy leader. Such a golfer, as opposed to making the hard call when needed. Such a pooh bear against the new Russian bear.
