Louisiana Republican Flees Interview When Asked About Obama's Birthplace

Maybe Journalists shouldn't be mocking people/potential candidates and start asking serious questions.....

I would have probably walked out too, not before saying; "It doesn't matter where he was born considering his mother was a US citizen."

All to frequently these progressive Journalists love to do noting but mock the non-democrat/progressive candidates in an intimidating manner, while when they interview progressives they give them nothing but "fluff questions" with a laughingly content smile.

If she has stated that she believes Climate Change is a hoax, why shouldn't she be asked about it? It is one of the pressing issues of our time.

She is in a tough spot, because she doesn't believe all that crap, like many Republicans. But if she comes out and says it's crap, the Teabaggers are going to create hell for her, and if she accepts the conspiracy theories, then she will look like an extremist, and the Democrats will have a field day with her. She was right in fleeing the interview because it looks like she was being set up.

So she hasn't claimed to think GW is a hoax? The article implies she has claimed it's a hoax.

Guess she shouldn't have commented on those things beforehand in public eh? Ooops it's all a liberal conspiracy. Liberals aren't supposed to ask questions about whacky comments politicians make.

The Libbo politicos don't get asked stupid questions like these. If you're into idiotic reporters asking idiotic questions, thats your problem, not mine.

Ah so the "libbo" reporter isn't allowed to ask those questions but she is free to make those stupid comments without being questioned about them? Now, please think before you type your response.

If Repub candidates quit making stupid comments and having ignorant opinions, politicos wouldn't have to ask them if they are really that stupid.

If she claimed climate change is a hoax, then she is another idiot. But whether she did or not, her reaction to the questions asked must be nuanced. I believe she fled the interview because she believed that it would be the least damaging option.

Option 1 - Assert that global warming is a hoax -> Give the Democrats some red meat.

Option 2 - Deny that global warming is a hoax -> Lose support from members of her own party.

Option 3 - Flee the interview -> Stay alive for now.

I know it's not what you want to hear, but after all, she is one of those slimy critters known as a politician. Democrat? Republican? Doesn't matter. Slime? Yea, definitely that. LOL.

A Republican congressional candidate fled her interview with a major election-forecasting group after being asked why she believed that global warming was a hoax and whether President Barack Obama was born in the United States, according to a new report in the Washington Post.

This lady was obviously not well prepared for this interview.

Kind of reminds me of Sarah Palin.

Any thoughts?

Sarah indeed. Yet another empty suit conservative woman. I swear the righties run these hot looking bimbos out there and all the rednecks get a woodie and vote for them.

In other words you support the idea of putting the likelihood of election ahead of being honest and providing straightforward information for the electorate. That's sad. I would hope no one would support that. Alas.

Empty suit and empty head, it seems for both as well.

excellent observation
because they certainly cannot be fascinated with their intellect

I hate seeing hack threads in breaking news. Maybe this candidate was offended that she would be asked about the President's birthplace.

It's on par with, "Have you stopped beating your wife."

Are you serious? It's a simple question with a simple answer. "Hawaii." Or if she's a birther, voters have a right to know that.

A good politician would turn the question around or just give some kind of nonsense answer as shown below.

I didn't say I supported it at all. Please read my post in the context I gave it. I explained why she did it, and don't forget that I also said she was slime.

My bad, I didn't read the last line. The previous post sounded like you were saying it was her "best" option. I was still focused on that. My bad.

Yea, I agree with that. If I was running, here would be my response to the question......

Exactly, there is only one Sarah Palin and I can't think of anyone else that even comes close. Although Lucile Ball in I Love Lucy might, but Lucy may be more of the Bachman type. So which is which, Ethel and Lucy, Palin and Bachman?

I'm not a fan, but I respect her style as appealing to a pretty good sampling of American voters. She appears "real" -- warts and all. She definitely has a fan base . . .

Not sure what that says about 'Mericans, but there it is.

When the going gets tough, conservatives get to playing the victim. It is never their fault, it is the fault of the evil liberal media, that they know is liberal because it does not spin everything in the conservative way. Damn liberal media asking a political candidate political questions during an interview...HOW UNFAIR!

Yeah well progressive journalists enjoy talking about the dog "BO" (what type of an ass names his dog after himself) and the luxuries of being president and how his golf game is going. Meanwhile conservatives or the "opponent" of the anointed one gets asked extremely difficult questions...

This is why the POS needs a press secretary to avoid implicating himself in massive corruption - and even HE ant answer simple hard-nosed questions!

There is EPIC bias in the media when candidates are interviewed and democrats get fluff while the opposition gets candyass questions thrown at them... that's why they stammer and refuse to answer hard questions and just walk away from them.

Too bad there's only one. More pols like Pal would make this country a better place. n

Does Dan Rostenkowski remind you of Sarah, too?

God!!! I wish I could find a Youtube video of him being asked a question by Chicago reporters and vaulting over the hood of a nearby car only to continue running down the street.

That sounds hilarious. If you are a politician and running for office, you have to be prepared for questions about your statements and actions. Running away will only make it worse.

How many Libbos get nailed for stupid comments?

"Where was the president born" is a gotcha question much like "what color is the sky?"

Oh, it was hilarious, Redress. Sad to say, I remember seeing it on the 10 PM news. I don't remember what the question was, but he did a short pause, was obviously speechless, then turned and ran like a jack rabbit. (He ended up in jail a bit later, as I recall.)

I don't understand how politicians can survive without hip pocket answers to difficult questions they think are likely to be asked. Maybe they're just arrogant to believe no one will ask them.

Every politician should take a lesson from, "That's a little above my pay grade." ;)
