U.S. Considering Refugee Status for Hondurans

[/COLOR][/B]

People usually don't go where they don't want to go.

If the USA would spend some money on effective, fair control of its borders it could save some of the money that it spends sending people back to their homes.

That's too obvious, and it won't advance the partisans position. What we have to do shrub, is keep kicking these partisans in the nuts and maybe we can fix what's wrong with America, unless we're just here for entertainment. Personally I would like for America to actually be the shinning city on a hill, not just a cliche.

I don't believe that you could. You prefer to just make snarky references to International Laws without any understanding and asking why the US wouldn't want to follow international law.

Here you go. Refugee - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary.

If they are still in their home country, then they are NOT refugees.

I always find it refreshing how people's creativity has the power to surprise. I would never have thought of looking up a legal text in Webster's.

IOW, you can't support your own argument.

The fact is, this is the dunbest idea to come out of this regime, to date.

Don't be silly. Look it up.

You can't undo what you did at the ballot box, think a little harder next time.

Though the first statement is keen and true you become merciless as you progress.

Is picking them up not preferable to having one in three die in transport?

What's preferable is them staying put.

What's preferable is them staying put.

Do you really think so? We are running into a demographic trap and will desperately need more young people in a few years. Thank the parents and put the kids in school is my advise. We will rewarded massively.

I understand your frustration. Hispanics are coming into the U.S. in droves and there is nothing you can do to stop it. Your children will be minorities in their own country before long, and your grand-children may end up being the permanent underclass of their generation.

My children, on the other hand, will enjoy their rich Mexican heritage while living in this wonderful land of yours. I'm sure there will be enough fast-food establishments for your lineage to work at while serving food to my lineage.

That's a good one!!!!

:lamo

Yep.

There's a demographic trap alright, but age isn't the demographic the trap is being set for.

I'll thank the parents to kindly keep hold of their own kids in their own country.

I am not part of the we which you speak. And don't think they think they are either, they don't.

Nope. Every nation decides how to handle refugees and asylum. UNHCR can coordinate, fund etc. They do not require nations to accept refugees, they do not supplant existing legal structures, they do not decide whether or not someone will be granted asylum by another nation.

The decision to grant asylum is up to a US court. That is the current hold-up. The courts are overwhelmed, and the kids often have insufficient legal representation at those courts, which causes further delays.

I agree, but you're talking about individual cases there. I was referring to declaring an entire nation's citizens are refugees, as this seems to imply.

Why? If you don't know that already you won't believe anything I say.
The fact of the matter is people WANT to come here, they don't want to go there.

Now you have a clue towards the answer to your question. keep working, and eventually you will get there.

I always find it refreshing how people's creativity has the power to surprise. I would never have thought of looking up a legal text in Webster's.

I asked for a relevant legal definition for the retired guy but he had none. I find looking up words in a dictionary better than pulling a definition out of my arse.

If you disagree, so be it.

Refusing to refute the article for that reason is the definition of the genetic fallacy. Quite an obvious, text-book example actually.

Would you like me to quote the most relevant points in the article which you apparently will never read for you? Or will you just ignore that as well?

I dont' have to refute anything that is a history if bias in it. why don't you actually address the thread instead i haven't seen you make one on topic post yet.

Concession accepted. If you wont debate, don't bother posting.

It's difficult to debate a hypocritical poster. You reject facts that don't meet your "smell test" and then demand others accept your own when they apply the same standard. Something to think about.

You too are denying the CIA's role in overthrowing left leaning democratic governments in Central America. You guys are something. Here's why there's one party with two wings. Replacing left leaning democracies with right wing dictatorships was a long running US policy through both democratic and republican administrations. Damn it man, if we could ever get the partisan out of the damn way, we might just fix Washington.

I haven't denied the CIA's role. In fact, I've stated their actions were poorly executed and questionable. Of course, the bigger picture brings into question the culture and society in Latin America that allows all the outside influences to prevail.

Imagine the impact of importing millions of people who think and act as the citizens of Latin America do.

Then post the main source and leave the bias huffpo out of it and depending on who wrote it i might look at it.

as i said the only blame the US incurs is not enforcing our immigration laws. if we would have enforced our immigration laws then they would realize that coming here is useless.

And immigration laws haven't been enforced for decades. So it's America's fault, but just for different reasons you say, ok.

Wow, undp posts the statistics documenting Central America to be, at present, the most dangerous place on earth, and you say it's Chicago. And what's with the million dollar homes. A bit hyperbolic.

Yeah? how many people do you believe were shot over the 4th of July weekend in Chicago?

Take a wild flippin' guess.

I don't think that anybody has denied Chicago's violence problem, you should move! Funny you think it compares to Central America though.

No it's the democrats and the RINO's fault...

Of course any time a governor/state tries to do something about it the asshats like Obama and his "DOJ" start suing states.

Based on president ZERO's actions alone - he WANTS as many illegal aliens as possible in the United States because the man is straight up evil and will do everything in his power to destroy the economy and take jobs (and money) away from as many US citizens as possible.

This illegal immigration/open borders thing is Obamas sick and twisted way of redistributing wealth...

Lol, I hear ya dude, about 35% of the population felt the same way about Bush. Funny you think the borders were closed before Obama.

Yeah right... and Chicago is how big? and Central America is how big? now maybe you should look at "per capita" rather than murder numbers in a vast region such as the whole of Central America...

Yeah Chicago has that beat...

Furthermore I don't live in the city - I'm not flipping stupid. You think I would put up what that crap? I just happen to be 20 minutes from the city but in an entirely different AND MORE SAFE county...

The only difference here is that Obama's policies are basically inviting illegals to come to the US... Obama's immigration policies are so lax that once illegals get to the border they turn themselves in knowing damn well they will be given an immigration hearing, but will be set free on US soil BEFORE THE HEARING - a hearing they have absolutely NO PLANS to attend.....

At least under Bush illegals were actually being deported...

Well I'm glad you're safe. A poster several pages back posted the stats debunking your assertion.
