The connection is that it's not up to someone to prove a negative. If your theory is that Byrd secretly stayed with the KKK, you need to provide evidence of it. If you care to, anyway, I'm not sure why anyone cares at this point.

Buddy boy, my own mother chopped and picked cotton FOR 75¢ a DAY, right next to black people when she was 15 years old and neither race were in chains. It would be physically impossible to do either appropriately, while chained. You've watched too GD many Hollywood movies and read to many GD lies about how slaves/freed slave/slave relatives, were treated. Yes. there were exceptions. See former Senator and grand kleagle of the KKK, Robert Byrd of West Virginia. But the KKK wasn't running this ****ing country after the emancipation proclamation. And it wasn't nearly as wide spread as you GD liberals like to believe.

And now you're going to nitpick about the chains? That's just comical. Unable to confront your being proud of a state that seceded from the United States so they could keep owning human beings. Slavery was very widespread. You can nitpick over exactly how often slaves were beaten or murdered if you like, nobody gives a ****. It was owning a human being. That's what the South fought for. Keep telling yourself it was somehow justified. And at least be man enough to admit that you do think it was justified.

A man who does bad things and then later repents can be forgiven. Byrd's involvement with the KKK was abhorrent, but the man tried to make things right later in life and deserves some credit for the attempt. His history on gay rights is poor also, which I would still criticize if the man were alive.

Congratulations, I have never actually witnessed a live rationalization for slavery. Well done. It's pretty funny since the farmers who founded this country expressed the Live Free or Die attitude and that was merely because of a little taxation without representation. It's Interesting showing current pictures to justify enslaving people 200+ years ago.

I agree with Hogwash.........the descendents of American slaves.......driving around in their rented Escaldes.......talking on their I-phones and listening to 50-cent......should thank their lucky stars that their ancestors were too dumb or too slow to not get caught by their cousins and were sold into slavery.......otherwise they would be living in some mud hut in God-forsaken West Africa

Yeah, it's white folks too, but have you noticed when someone suggests cutting government handouts, the Libbos star screaming, "raaaacist!"? It's all about keeping black folks in poverty. If black folks, and hispanics, were ever to become unimpoverished, they might stop voting Democrat.

It depends on your definition of literacy. According to this site State and County Literacy Estimates - State Estimates, the illiteracy rate in Cook County, IL (including Chicago) is 19%. The illiteracy rate of Alabama is 15%. So I guess Republicans are about 4% better than Democrats. Except in Texas where it is also 19%.



So anyway, what have we learned from this thread? The KKK was all Democrats, all Democrats are liberals, therfore all liberals are members of the KKK. They are also responsible for slavery, which was a good thing. Therefore, all liberals are bad even though slavery was good...or something....

Why is it just minorities?

But I'm also not the one using "concern" as a political weapon. If the GOP went in to the cities, did some good for the community, it might help their electoral prospects. I guess it's easier to whine though.
