True, but there is more to it than just a President saying he want's this done. So much today is polarized that anything, even if it is what we want to see done, will likely be held by one side or another as a leverage tool for something any particular politician wants him/herself. This is not helped when a President tries to constantly play the whining card, or the race card, and demonize his opponents.
We all know what has to be done, and how to get there. Giant "comprehensive" laws are horrible, and nearly unimplementable. So we need to get back to basics. When you have a leaky roof, you don't mop the floor until you fix the roof, and you certainly don't burn the house down to fix the roof.
Then we likely have a semblance of agreement. The rhetoric that the illegals do the jobs that American's won't do, while had some merit before 2008, today is nearly out the window with so many out of work, or out of the workforce. This will come to a head. There IMHO, will come a time when all of this extended unemployment, welfare, and disability dole will have to be culled. At that time the backlash against these so called people doing jobs American's won't do will fly right out the window.
