during a news conference on July 11, 2014 on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus will meet with President Barack Obama later this month, and a leader of the group said he’ll urge Obama to issue work permits to let millions of undocumented immigrants stay in the U.S.

“This is a moment for the president to stand up and say ‘the country believes we should reform our immigration system,’” Representative Luis Gutierrez said in an interview on Bloomberg Television’s “Political Capital with Al Hunt,” airing this weekend.

Gutierrez, immigration chairman for the 27-member Hispanic caucus, said members plan to meet with Obama the week of July 21 to discuss immigration laws. With prospects for a comprehensive measure stalled, Congress is now considering the president’s $3.7 billion spending proposal to cope with an influx of thousands of unaccompanied children at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Gutierrez said Obama told him in March that if the Republican-led House didn’t act on immigration legislation, he should return to the White House in July to discuss what the president could accomplish instead through executive orders.

He said Obama should begin granting work permits to the millions of undocumented immigrants
who would have had a chance to seek legal status under a bill the Democratic-controlled Senate passed last year.

“I think he can begin to do it and I think he can reach that goal,” Gutierrez said. “I hope the president says, ‘This is the beginning.’”

Unaccompanied Children

Gutierrez, an Illinois Democrat, said he opposed a drive in Congress to reduce the legal rights of unaccompanied children arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border from Central America.

Ok, so if you won't give them amnesty and you won't even provide a reasonable path to citizenship, what exactly are you going to do with the thousands of immigrants that have already crossed the border and have made lives here? I see no viable way of sending them all home without infringing on the 4th amendment and wasting a ton of taxpayer money. You must also keep in mind that you will end up tearing families apart and damaging the lives of those who aren't "legal" but have lived their whole lives here.

There has actually been a movement for this.

What?
What's a "reasonable path" for someone here ILLEGALLY?
Do they have a 'right' to be here just because they got here and some greedy pig hired them?
Rights in the USA are for USA citizens, not those who snuck in.

All you gotta do is make them present National ID/e-Verify for a job, and penalize employers who break the law by hiring them.
Don't need to Round em all up.
They'll just Walk back across.

That way, we also won't need to pass a Minimum Wage Bill as a True Market wage for menial jobs will Double.
Right now the whole bottom of the labor pool is being penalized/Warped by their Illegal presence.

Heya Mbig. :2wave: What do we do with those who hire them Individually.....Maids, babysitters, gophers, etc etc, people who give them work and room and board. Kind of like the old indentured servant routine?

Penalty for hiring an illegal.
Minimums:
First offense: $5,000
Second......... $10,000
Third............ Fine + Jail.

That would go for Individuals too.
Once examples are made, the nonsense will stop.
If 'your' illegal can get a visa to come, OK.
If not, tough luck.

Yeah but how would people know.....most aren't up into their neighbors business. I doubt any questions their neighbors if they are or someone living with them is here legally.

They would have to have a NATIONAL ID, if/when challenged to do anything outside a house. To get to work, to live anywhere but work, to get a license, apartment, etc.
Or all the neighbors would know that the 'Smiths' have a girl in under the Radar.
Someone tells.

Why would a 4th Amendment apply to a non citizen?

So I guess you think rounding up the illegals is going to be as simple as asking them all to raise their hand? You will have to request the papers of anybody that halfway looks Mexican. If you request the papers of someone who is, in fact, a citizen...that would be a violation of the 4th.

You have already defined the problem...now what is the solution? Please don't waste your entire thread re-hashing the points you made in your OP.

Move your debate forward as summize the corrections to the problems. Please don't tell me you started a thread to re-cap the obvious.

Not around here......the Snitch rule is in effect.

Dishonest reply.

I answered your ostensibly Imponderable problem of how to round them up or get rid of them.
I gave a solution, as well as the added benefit of liberating our [Legal] low-wage workers.

YOU have NO ANSWER so we get your Dishonest/Incoherent deflection.

Enforcement, courts, judges, procecutors, support staff, buildings all costs money.

NOT as much money as Permanent Border Fences, Guards, and decades of Welfare.
If people know they can't get a job without National ID, they ain't coming.
Cheapest solution by far.
Try again?

You have no clue of the logistics of your rhetoric...it is simplistic thinking at best.

Not at all. We deny a business license to anyone that hires the criminals. The employers will stop hiring them and to make a life for themselves they'll go home.

Most immigrants don't work for licensed employers anyway. Many mow lawns, clean houses, or do random odd-jobs for cash.

Not as much....how much?

By FAR the cheapest solution is to simply make it known that without National ID they Cannot get a Job and will Never get citizenship.
Less than one year's enforcement would solve the problem permanently.. as opposed to 2000+ miles of fence and Tens of thousands of Border guards in perpetuity.
I suspect, in a matter of months after the law's announcement, Millions would Walk back across the border with virtually no enforcement even necessary.

All your replies are Nonsensical, Gratuitous, and OBTUSE protestation.
and have been answered several times.

Isn't it a criminal conspiracy to make an agreement with someone like President Obama to break the law by aiding and abetting criminal behavior and refusing to enforce the laws of the land that says illegal aliens should be tried in court for illegal entry into the USA and sentenced to prison or deported ?

Proof? Nice claim but let's see your evidence.
