GOP: Lerner warned IRS employees to hide information...[W:220, 325]

Re: GOP: Lerner warned IRS employees to hide information from Congress

It's sad for you, open it up, they give you direct links to emails judical watch doesnt tell you about. You will make a huge mistake if you assume they're lying.

Waiting for you to just admit that Conservatives should targeted illegally.

Because thats what you people are going to wind up doing eventually.

Re: GOP: Lerner warned IRS employees to hide information from Congress

If you instruct your personell to omit information from public record, because it could be used as evidence of illegal activity, it's obstruction of justice.

Almost certainly that wasn't Lerner's intent. She probably feared Republican distortion and misrepresentation of email.

Re: GOP: Lerner warned IRS employees to hide information from Congress

I can't wait for the next president to just unsign all of obama's executive orders in one fell swoop.
i guess obama doesn't realize that what he has done can be undone.

that post convinces me that Obama is not nearly as clever as you; somebody better inform the president that his XO signings can be trumped by a subsequent president

next, we might even learn that old law can be replaced by new law

honestly i don't think he is. he is one of the dumbest presidents we have had in a while. i would say clinton and carter were actually smarter than him.

Undoing what Obama has done is different than stripping all funding. The next president should do whatever s/he can within the law to represent what s/he deems best for the American people.

Re: GOP: Lerner warned IRS employees to hide information from Congress

Are we talking about the same thing here? You know Lois Lerner was the one that came out and admitted wrongdoing, right? Did you miss that part? And that she clammed up and won't say where the orders came from? You have to keep up, or you'll end up looking silly.

was not aware of that
would you please share a cite which would evidence her admission of wrongdoing

stripping funding would require congress, but since obama seems to think that he can do whatever he wants around congress i don't see why the next president can't just strip whatever he wants.

maybe you should tell obama that he seems to think all he needs is a phone and a pen.

then throws a fit and whines like a child when he can't get his way.

But, Obama isn't doing "whatever he wants". He is working within the constraints of the law in reallocating funds he has the authority to reallocate, and not reallocating funds he does not. The idea that he he is going beyond that authority is simply false.

Re: GOP: Lerner warned IRS employees to hide information from Congress

I think it's prudent advise, you don't want the staff to include confidential information.

no, damn it!

no way would it be appropriate for the supervisor to explain to her staff the need to be circumspect in their writing

would you please share with us where that was expressed in the email which prompted this thread

For precisely the reason she told her colleagues not to say anything in email. The Republicans will distort and misrepresent everything and anything. Better to say nothing and let them just make-up stuff to than to give them something they can lie about.

Meaning ... she couldn't defend what they had been saying in the emails ... forget about the fact that Congress has oversight responsibility.
Let's see, how would that work for everyone else.
You tell your buddy that you don't want to pay taxes on your weekend job earnings that's off-the-books so you get paid in cash, destroy any record of it, & get your employer to do the same.
Would you tell the IRS you didn't tell 'em because they'd distort what you were doing?

1. Yes, that criteria being "anything we think might be a conservative group"

2. Possibly it might have started in Cincy, but it spread like wildfire from coast to coast with the backing and assistance of the folks in the D.C. office as the emails FreedomWatch recovered revealed.

I've given you a series of LIKEs as a show of gratitude that you saved me from typing out the same responses.
Their stuff got old months ago yet here they still are.

And that explains just perfectly why Lerner took the 5th. She wasn't afraid of criminal prosecution for breaking the law. She was afraid of republicans, which is why everybody takes the 5th when testifying before House committees. I mean, they do, don't they?

It's almost fun to watch. Almost. The pathetic element strips the amusement from it over time.

Serious question, Hum ...
Could you ever feel that heightened degree of hopelessly blind loyalty in the face of overwhelming evidence that you'd keep saying the same things that were shown as BS many months ago?
I mean ... "Progressive groups were targeted too" ... that's downright embarrassing.

It is - for those capable of embarrassment. Then again, when the facts belie one's ideology, I guess there's just no where left to go.

You are not even aware of it? You better keep up, this happened over a year ago!
Oh, look up "Benghazi", "NLRB unconstitutional", "I have a pen", and "58 states" while you're at it. Boy, have you missed a lot.

The Internal Revenue Service on Friday apologized for targeting groups with “tea party” or “patriot” in their names, confirming long-standing accusations by some conservatives that their applications for tax-exempt status were being improperly delayed and scrutinized.

Lois G. Lerner, the IRS official who oversees tax-exempt groups, said the “absolutely inappropriate” actions by “front-line people” were not driven by partisan motives.

Re: GOP: Lerner warned IRS employees to hide information from Congress

I admit, I really thought conservatives were overreacting a bit with this one, but man, everything this lady does is dirty.

Something was going on, and if liberals don't decry it, they can't complain when it happens to them in the next administration.

So two wrongs DO make a right.

Re: GOP: Lerner warned IRS employees to hide information from Congress

The 'smoking gun' here that I see, is not that Lerner was telling people in her corrupt chain to be careful with e-mail wording, but rather that she was worried that congress would get a hold of them, and she wanted to hide this activity from congress....

Nope. But until they realize that turning big government against it's own citizens is an abuse, they will have no reason to cease to do so. So make them Hurt. Make them Hurt as badly as we Possibly Can, and then offer to agree to disarm.

Apparently we also now have communications that she had with IT sections about the instant messaging system they used, where she was making sure that nothing she said on their IM system could be saved or retrieved.

This whole time, it was known that she did the exact same thing to the Christian Coalition during the Clinton years while working for the FEC.

I think we have to know at this point who suggested that she go into this position, and if it at all, was tied to advisers of the current administration...

The senators, and other congresspeople that were involved as well, including Cummings show the absolute corruption in DC today.

Yes, that it is two wrongs, which you appear to think is right. Democrats doing wrong, Republican doing wrong for revenge. This leads to the right: disarmement.
